    Loved it😍, the music, the tank, your dog, the cinematics, everything seemed so professional and at the same time so emotional. I just found one thing extremely fascinating, the thing you did with your moss, putting them inside a blender and then spreading it on the rocks. Does it really grow that way ?

    • @NigelAquascaping
      @NigelAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the kind words. I am really happy that you like it! Yes it works with finer species like fissidens fontanus & fox. Also riccardia chamedryfolia seems to work. More coarse moss sp might not work with this method. I also used it on lava rocks in 2 forest scapes I made before

    I just can't comprehend how you are able to replicate a MASSIVE environment in a small fish tank with such accuracy. It really looks like a mountain path! I did an alright job on my nano tank aquascapes, but just got a 40 and feel so lost with the scape. I've spent probably 500 dollars on various hardscape materials but just can't make anything I'm happy with!
    I love that there is a gradient in your tank, and many other advanced aquascapes, it isn't just a flat ground. I am trying to achieve that in my 40, but I am failing!!
    Going to the LFS for more sticks and rocks tomorrow lol!

    • @NigelAquascaping
      @NigelAquascaping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      More hardscape is always good so you have plenty of choice. This will help to create better hardscapes. I would say never give up and take your time building a solid hardscape. It's like the backbone of your aquascape. Some contest Aquascapers take weeks even months to build a hardscape before flooding it. This will help a lot. Keep tweaking and sometimes let it rest for some hours or days. Pick it up later again with a fresh mind. Good luck!

    I really love this aquascape, so amazing, you're very talented. The only gripe I have is the music. Wayy too serious and epic for what is happening. Comes off a bit pretentious, even comical at times (especially when you cut to your dog).

    • @NigelAquascaping
      @NigelAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man. Haha yeah I have been receiving a lot of comments about that. In my opinion it was to enhance the story of a dramatic landscape. Think like GOT and LOTR. I appreciate the input though. What would you rather like to hear? I wouldn't really use this music on something like a classic na style or Dutch.

    • @888fluffy
      @888fluffy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NigelAquascaping To be clear this is a nitpick, but I often see aquascapers equate 'cinematic' with 'epic' and 'serious'. This music is so urgent and important-sounding, even though aquascaping is actually a very fun and calming activity. The soundtrack makes it seem like your forcing importance onto your work, instead of just letting the work speak for itself.
      I would have done something a bit calmer, with a little joy in it. Maybe Indonesian. If you want some examples, I think foo the flowerhorn does a great job at picking music that matches their tanks perfectly. Or maybe just be be self aware, like that Gardener Ignores The Laws Of Nature video, use overly epic music on purpose as a joke.
      Anyways, do what makes you happy but these are just some tips. I also love the LOTR soundtrack, partly because of how appropriately it's used in the films. Keep on scaping my dude, looking forward to what you make next

    • @NigelAquascaping
      @NigelAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey thanks for your suggestion. I know what you mean. What about a video with only tank footage. It would be hard to add sound effects on that kind of videos. Would be really boring no if there is no sound at all? It's impossible to please everyone with music.

    • @NigelAquascaping
      @NigelAquascaping  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Fishnetsoh Yeah I agree. In my opinion the music choice fitted this mountain scape to make it more dramatic and give impact. While a more planted scapes with lots of close ups, it would be better to add something like slow relaxing music. Both can work indeed and as I said it is impossible to please all the viewers. I appreciate the discussion and feedback of you guys. This kind of input helps me for future videos. 🙏

Clean organic waste with tools like a turkey baster during water change. Optimize co2 with ph drop method. Have all nutrients available but don't overdo it like EI imo. Dear Nigel, this is WONDERFUL. Exactly the type of thing that makes me love aquascaping so much. The only thing I would have like on this video was a set of shots showing the growth of the plants on the mountains. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to make this. :-D
