Funny the tank is almost twice the price in the US compared to the EU after converting Euro to USD. That & the price of plants here is 2-3x higher, it's no wonder aquascaping isn't nearly as prevalent.
I was stuck on 11,13& 21 I’m very happy to see that Felipe olivera was recognized . Moss him and his content. Can’t believe we lost another great hobbiest this year. Rip Felipe
The most balanced scape for me is clearly #20. It is lacking some color to give it the utmost kick though. It scored 3 in the ANAC competition. Of course all works look beautiful but how far beyond the line scapers can reach out you can get a sense of when you look at any Indonesion contest. One of the top scapers over there is Pakne Kenzo to my humble opinion. RIP Felipe🌹
Really liked 3,5,6,8, 22 11& 21, my favorite ones but winner for me is 11. Huge respect to aquascapers who are able to create depth and build a PERFECT carpet. Something for me to try in a near future. Noticing as well that the more simplistic a scape is, the more "professional it looks". Would've really loved going to this event, it's different from other hobbies, and it looks really fun ! Thanks for sharing 😊
It was great meeting you and so many others in the hobby at my first convention! With these nanos I think the top 3 deserved their spots, but I'm also a big fan of entry #1's ambitious composition.
It was so nice to saw all the different scapes on the Vivarium and it was a pleasure for me to meet you and talk a little bit about our beautiful Hobby. My Favorit by the ANAC Contest was the Scape #11
I like all of those tanks, great professional work. And you know what I like as well ? No exhibition torture for fish & shrimps like at other European events. We know how our main actors look like. We don't need to stress them to carry forth and back for just a few days to somewhere.
They are all so beautiful. Very creative. Everyone put all their hearts into these. There were some great ideas that I would love to incorporate into my new tank that I am building.
6,8,11,17 were my favorites. I loved the idea of 8 with the red rotala? being the leaves but I don't know that its my favorite out of the lot. I can't decide. Beautiful work
Hey MJ, it was nice to meet you personally (Im the bald guy, Jasper). Keep up the good work! Nr 23 was one of my favorites, I loved the amount of different plants used for the foliage, some were really unexpected.
On first watch, #13, #15 and #20 had that wow effect for me. I've been going back and forth but I think #15 is my favorite. It looks like something you'd come across while wading through a foggy swamp, and has a desolate, almost gothic feel to it, which I really like. If only the branches on the tree's left side tapered naturally outwards 😅
For me the best is nr. 1, 2, 3!!!, 5, 6, 8, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 19, 22,23, 25. I noticed that my compatriot Przemysław Wilk took part in the competition :)
I didnt think the top 3 would have won. They were beautiful but other tanks looked better in my opinion. All were awesome. Wonderful inspiration for all of us. Which tank was your fav MJ?
First off I want to say, Your aquascapes and videos are so well done. They're very informative and the finished results, absolutely beautiful. I live in the states, Massachusetts to be exact. I've been watching your videos and a few others, but still hesitating before I take the plunge. I've never seen anybody close to me in the US that has the same professional approach, so far. If you know of anyone in New England or group of fish hobbyists in my area, please send there names my way. I'm not even sure of plant suppliers out this way... Meanwhile your work is excellent and I've enjoyed watching your videos keep up the amazing work. Thanks Joe.
@@ravscape I really think your scape is gorgeous, love the details in the tree. So delicate roots and branches. The shape and placement of the tree reminds me of my favourite type of trees, stunted pines on the rocky cliffsides of Finnish archipelago. And the red hue on the background like a rising sun, seen from between the branches. Just love it! 😍 I'm surprised that the scape didn't place higher, but there are as many opinions as there are people.
@@ravscape FWIW, yours I felt was the best, and it wasn't close. Perhaps because it looks the most like something you might actually find in a lake, slow tropical river or something. I am likely in the minority but the tree thing, I really don't care for. I get the aesthetic, but it just does't appeal to me. I think they look to contrived, nothing really like what you really see underwater. That said, my tanks are very much for the fish, so are very wild, allowed to grow feral almost, and certainly wouldn't win any awards!
I went there on the sunday, very interesting to see so many different tanks. Wasn't really interested in the fish being sold. These tanks were wonderful to see and to draw inspiration from.
Based on few major points like Focal points Light & shade Golden ratio Creating depth in aquarium Balancing in plants etc. are vital points to judge any Aqua scape. Mainly the more you follow nature the best you are😂
Number 2 had impressive color contrast with the red plants at the back, kinda gives sunset vibes, and the gorgeous bonsai and crystel clear path, how come its behind number 1…
Aangezien je veel aquarium hebt kun je misschien tips geven over de aquariums allemaal te voorzien van stroom? Of gewoon stekkerdoos in stekkerdoos? Groetjes
Hi, the tank that won 2nd place is mine. It's running on the Twinstar B and Oase HOB. The contents of the HOB were replaced with zeolite and an auxillary nanofilter was used to speed up the bacterial colonization process. It was removed 2 months after set up. The tank is injected with CO2, as most of them are, and this is allowed.
@@Chichibubu99 Thats great to hear. Good work on the scape :) Guess there is nothing for me to do than to order the 45P sado... Was a bit concerned that the B light was a bit too weak.
It is indeed weak compared to other more expensive lights in the market, so you just need to choose the appropriate plants. Rotala SG stays red on it. Rotala h'ra and orange juice you need to sunject to nitrate limitation. It was also good on hygrophila araguaia and ammania gold.

They're all very beautifull, but my favorite was #6 (2:48). Also it was pretty cool meeting you!
Clearly I don't know how to judge, I didn't expect #1 to be in the top 20, it just looked like a simple messy tank, especially compared to #2.
It's all just a matter of taste I think 😁
I completely agree. I didn't find first place appealing at all
@@MJAquascaping please do not eat the plants
#5 is my favourite

Amazing works. #22 is the one for me, dramatic and powerfull.
2nd place was absolutely stunning. Shocked they didn't win!
All were nice in their own way.... Happy that #11 found a spot, liked it more 🎉

Really enjoyed our little chat mate! Looking forward to watching more of your content!
!!! whens the next vid? i wanna see more nanoscape narrated hilarity!
tank number 11 (2nd place i think?) was definitely my favorite. Its like a lovely little meadow and the background lighting is just perfect.
11 and 21 are majestic
My god Holland! You have the most attractive aquascapers in the world!
#11, the one that won second place is my fav. but really hard to choose from such special and high quality aquascapes.
I'm torn between 13 and 17, but leaning more towards 13. All of the scapes looked amazing. Thanks for sharing!
Hi MJ, thanks for the video, it's always nice to see another people's creativity. My top 3 ( in any order ) # 21 , # 5 and # 1.
Just amazing. Really beautiful.
Exactly why I can’t be a judge, I love them all! Seriously I find the beauty an uniqueness in every one of them. Thanks for showing us dude! 👍🤙🏼💯
i loved most of the scapes
unique in their own way
I love the tree in 12! Reminds me of doc sues. Also love the wild red tree in 19!
WOW! There is no way to pick a favorite. They are all winners just gorgeous and so creative.
2:31 that one tiny leaf floating. that make so natural.

My Favorit by the ANAC Contest was the Scape #11
All of the tanks were special. What a cool event!
Stunning MJ....a quality video....very nice scapes.... cheers from the US.....
Thank you for showing them so well!
3:54 my fave :)

I had #2 as the best. Color contrast was the difference. Good video! Thanks
beautiful scapes and touching to honour Filipe
My personal favourite was #15 the original take on it, and the combination of the low plants looked very wild and realistic, but also very controlled.
6,8,11,17 were my favorites. I loved the idea of 8 with the red rotala? being the leaves but I don't know that its my favorite out of the lot. I can't decide. Beautiful work
I picked the winner!yeah! It is the most beautiful tree I have ever seen.
My fav one were 5, 11 and 17 and couldn't decide which one I would do - I would love to have all 3 of them :)

I liked 4th place most, I think. Thanks for this video, as I couldn't attent. Maybe next year...

Awesome video providing lots of inspiration for us amateur aquascapers! 20 and 26 the winners for me.
So much talent in all the aquascapers..hard to pick one. Great to watch all the tanks
All are awesome!!
22 & 23 would've made perfect little bag end(s). 😍
For me I love the number 6 simple but beautiful the tree in the center is perfect JUST AMAZING ❤❤❤🎉 sending love from Philippines 🇵🇭
Great aquascape contest 👍🏻
Number 6 was my favorite, probably the best ratio and size
My top three: 1, 6 and 11
I really like the dedication to Filipe Oliveria 🙏

I love tree scapes. It is my dream to make one some day. Congratulations to the winners, and how lucky everyone is just to be there!
#7 gives the feeling of Spanish moss hanging off oak trees. Don't know if it's the best scape or what, but I love that feeling it gives.
Ik vond 11 wel mooi. Daar heb ik een foto vangemaakt en dat inspireerde me om ook maar eens een 45 cm bakje bij azaqua te bestellen. 😊
I love #11 and #21 (for the overall look) as for the tree, I really liked #6. I dont get how the score works thou...
New subscriber! Love your videos!
I dont think it would be possible to make a better film about this year ANAC. Great job, especially with the introduction.
I didnt think the top 3 would have won. They were beautiful but other tanks looked better in my opinion. All were awesome. Wonderful inspiration for all of us. Which tank was your fav MJ?
Number 5 was my fav :)
Man some of those were sensational!
I'll have to visit this trade show next year!
Would be awesome to meet up :)
For me, the numbers 6, 11, 12 and 17 are absolutely gorgeous aquascapes. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Tree scapes are my favorite
My favorite was #2
2 was my favorite
Were they judging on best tree itself? #11 hands-down was a beautiful scape. Def should have won
For me 3rd #21, 2nd #2 and 1st #25..👍
#6, #10, #15 my favourites...

I love number 2 i honestly thought that would be the winner as it has all the colours and different hights
number 6 is my favorite, it has that 'Sycamore Gap Tree' (rip) vibe
#10 and #20 where proportionally the most effective.
#11 for me :)
th 2nd place winner was better than the 1st place winner in my opinion XD
thanks for filming! my name is no 7 !
by far the best tank was # 12

Heb je bij Aquaza zien scapen haha! Wel toffe bak ook
#6 for the height but #20 is a winner in my eyes
Based on few major points like
Focal points
Light & shade
Golden ratio
Creating depth in aquarium
Balancing in plants etc. are vital points to judge any Aqua scape.

Yeah i feel like the second place was the best
My initial plan was to Get a huge aquarium, no plants, a 3D background and big frontosa but watching this video im scrapping that idea for sure.
No.6 I liked best
Number 2 had impressive color contrast with the red plants at the back, kinda gives sunset vibes, and the gorgeous bonsai and crystel clear path, how come its behind number 1…
11 очень хорошо выглядит. А 24 очень оригинальный - что-то инопланетное есть в нем 🎈
it's not what you know. it's who you know 😏
3rd place got robbed. Great scapes from everyone
what is the maximum tank size for the nano category

Stekkerdoos in stekkerdoos inderdaad 😅
#13 and 6... please, tell us names of plants used... thank you.
Christmas moss, eleocharis mini, staurogyne repens, bucephalandra's and some riccardia
#2 hello from Spain 🇪🇸
11(#2) winner for me
wow
on number 13 what the name of moss?
Not sure, maybe xmas moss?

anyone know the size of these nano tanks?

They do use CO2, it was just not installed during this weekend
