so this unit came with "SOLID STATE TUBES"!!!!!, in the amplifier, very interesting. the output section of the amp. was using silicon bi-polar transistors, you will not find any tubes in this amp. you would have to go back to 1970 rowe/ ami juke boxes to find "TUBE AMPLIFIERS"!!!!
Wow, amazing jukebox, always had a soft spot for jukebox, unfortunately they are too expensive and they need a very wide space. Anyway, i have also seen some of the artist on it like the doors, fleetwood mac, counting crows, awesome selection. in some of the new sub pop 45 that i bought have the right hole for the jukebox. thank you for showing us ;)
+what your damage, Heather? What 45's from SubPop have you been grabbing? I know I have a few from them and they do have the large spindle hole? I wonder if this is something they stick too? I have Low, Bat For Lashes and Washed Out (not sure if that is Sub Pop) but I would love to get a Father John Misty 7" for the jukebox. I love love loved Fear Fun!
Alot of the jukebox info is wrong. Ill go through the ones i remember. The std/test switch by putting it in test you dont have to use the credits, you can just punch in selections. You will never need to use the credit button again. Everything works like normal it just bypasses the money. The std/as selected seitch plays songs either as they are selected or as they apear on the ferris wheel to minimize wear on motor. The contiues song selector will only play B-sides it was added to try to get people to plug money in. The control unit on the right side is only for the dollor bill stacker. It has absolutely nothing else to do with jukebox. About the number of song selection on your central control computer they are clearable so they were probably cleared numerous times over the years. The amp does not have tubes the things you think are tubes are capacitors. Your tight that the R-87 was built in 1983 btw. I really recommend you get thr manual it will explain these things in greater detail and other stuff like changing wattage output to speakers and adding speakers(its not as easy as adding to screw strip) plus the use of other buttons. I have a large collection of arcade games 25+ which also includes a rowe/ami R-86 that i rrbuild from the ground up. When i got it some lights came on and that was it. I just got done rebuilding the amplifier pcbs(circuit boards) along with new capacitors and transistors. If you have any questions id be happy to answer thrm just message me
Wow! Thank you for the feedback. A lot of what I considered knowledge was just applied practical research and as such I always took with a grain of sand and optimism that I would one day know more. I appreciate your tips whole-heartedly. Thank you!
Just got my first jukebox & it’s a Rowe AMI R87. It’s pretty identical to yours with some outer cosmetic differences. Wondering if I could get that cool template you use? Thanks
I don't think Father John Misty made a lot of 45, i think he have just a bunch singles like the "i love you honeybear" made by the last year record store day, if i recall it's an heart red shape. i have nirvana slivers, j mascis fade into you (mazzy star cover), tristessa by smashing pumpkins, no age (glitter), still corners (cuckoo), and a bunch of others, they're pretty recent like the mascis one, or no age, etc, and they all have the large spindle hole ;)
+what your damage, Heather? Those are some good ones! I just double checked, and other than that heart one (Small spindle) no 45s of Misty. So enough I hope! Ever seen him live? Great show man.
Hey brotha. I hear there's gas in those pistons. U need to buy new ones. U probably already got the info on that by now. If not let me know I'll send u a link on where u can buy some.

You need to remove dust from the amplifier compartment to preserve amplifier cooling !
I'm a on it. Thanks for the heads up.
Helpful video! Would love to have your label template!

Your labels would put mine to shame.. WOW..
For what it is worth, it does take a LOT of time.
The inside of my R-82 jukebox is very clean but the records sound as though they are dragging a little
I just got the same jukebox. Where did you get a new needle for yours? The one on mine came broken.
Great vid sir..
Just got R-85 and put 80-90's music. Sound is very boomy to my house. Do you know how to fix the boomy sound?
What program do you use to make the labels? Thanks for the video.
Please Show Your Christmas Music In The Jukebox in A Few Months!!!!!.
That sounds like a great idea! Will do.
I Jotted Some Songs from Your Jukebox & Put them on My Playlist, So Have Good Taste In Music!!!!,
I'm Still Waiting For Your Christmas Jukebox!!!!!!
Very soon!
How do I fix my R-82 jukebox from dragging a little
I am not sure I completely understand what you are saying, but you may need to try just cleaning everything really well inside and see if that helps.
My R89 went to dragging. I fixed the problem by tightening the Alen head screw on the small pulley on the motor. It run the turn table.
