I love your videos and sadly I didn’t do much walked up shooting over the lockdown but it’s good that you have. I hope that your dog is well prepared for the next shooting season and I think that you a really good dog trainer because that is a brilliant good gundog
Thanks for your kind words, I still have my "heart in my mouth" when Ted is out on difficult retrieves but he really knows his job and can't wait to get him up on the rabbits later this year. Cheers Nick
Thanks Howie...it was a rare opportunity this season and one that I really enjoyed. I did have a chat with "Ted" and I am sure he will be back to normal for next season! Cheers Nick
Who needs a lab?! Ted is a fantastic dog in a real world video. Percy has a lot to live up too - I'm sure he will get there.! Thanks for all the training tips. I'll persevere and hope my Milo gets there.
Great stuff just one thing just think you shoot to early with your first shoot that is why you hit most of your birds with your second barrel love the video keep them coming
Hi David...I think you are quite right I do tend to go quickly with the first barrel and I think this doesn't allow for the shot pattern to open properly, especially as the chokes are quite tight on the gun. I think it has become an instinct because we shoot in so much woodland and I feel I need to get that first shot away quickly before the bird gets away amongst the trees. Could save my self a fortune on cartridge's if I was to slow down! All the best cheers Nick
I’ve watched a few of your videos, how you get any enjoyment pillowcasing things on the end of your barrel is beyond me, your dog works well and yes before you say anything I’ve done a fair amount of walked up/rough shooting, some of then I wouldn’t bother putting the gun up to
Why the need for negative comments? This is clearly an end of season walked up day with everyone having a good time. If they are safe shots then why the need to comment about pillow casing? If you only shoot 40 yard screamers out rough shooting then fantastic and good luck to you, leave others to enjoy their sport how they see fit. As someone that can't get out at the moment, these videos are fantastic.
@@georgegreaves9779 the whole point of game shooting is sport, I’ve been on so many beaters days etc when people just blow them up Cus they can, I’ve just never seen the point
@@lylepetts8469 good luck to you sir! I'm sure your a awfully good shot and could show us all how it should be done, until then we will keep plodding on just enjoying the day out with good company 😘
