I’m not usually a tote person as I tend to overfill and overstuff my past totes, but the Marc Jacobs mini leather tote in argan oil is just incredible. I was able to finally score it and with a discount from Farfetch. I’ve debated adding the canvas version, but I truly don’t need multiple of the same style of bag. Love your videos Sophie.
I have the Denim Tote Small, Snoopy Tote Small, and the latest big Monogram Tote Small. I love all of them!!! I always get compliments from strangers. They are beautiful and well made.
My favorite brands these days are more off the radar brands, like Mark Cross, Valextra, Delvaux or Moynat. I feel like it gets awkward to carry around an well known designer bag sometimes. The attention you get isn't always positive, and I feel like it can be kind of tacky and loud to be decked out in logos and brands from head to toe, especially as I get older.
I don’t own a single luxury bag. Not a single one. I have a Dooney tote and a Coach shoulder bag. That’s as close as I get. 😂 But I love Sophie and her videos! If I find a top or pants I like, I will buy them in every color though. So Bridgette, buy the bag!!! xx
I bought a Marc Jacobs canvas small tote. Arrived creased and as it was a heavy canvas would not fall out. Returned to Nordstrom and bought direct from the MC American site. Ditto. Sent it back. I think the leather is great value though. One underrated brand to look at is Coach. Some of their bags are amazing. Leather excellent, finishes amazing and the attention to detail is great.
Marc Jacobs Editor is one of the least expensive bags I use and the one I get the most compliments from strangers on. It’s a beautiful blush color and people are very drawn to it. I like my high end bags but I will buy a bag regardless of price or designer if I really love the look of it.

I've always loved Marc Jacobs bags because they're affordable, pretty, and the quality is excellent. Even his second line, Marc By Marc Jacobs, is great and doesn't look or feel like a second line.

Regarding the questions of the bags in different colors, I believe it makes sense to have the same bag in different colors and different sizes. If the style suits you, works for you, it makes sense to have it in different colors and sizes because then you have more choices to use, more options to fit different needs and different dresses with a piece you already know how it works for you.
I got the Moschino Bucket Bag since 2020 from Flannel. I got it in a sale. You can also use the e small handle if u remove the long handle. Its so convenient and great for travelling or going out. Mine still looks new 2 years down the line. Its great quality. Harvey Nichols has it for £285

I think it makes total sense to buy something you love in a different colour, people buy Chanel classic flaps in multiple colours… So go for it!! 😁 I’m really enjoying Burberry right now, I’m also getting really into buying pre-owned and vintage!

A Moschino bucket bag, very similar to the one shown here, was my first designer bag ever. My grandmother had a similar bag when I was a child and I remember playing with the letters of the logo, that can be moved. I had my bag for seven years and it looks still very good, I love it. I am considering a Marc Jacobs tote as a diaper bag but I have a hard time deciding. I don’t want to carry two bags, so my diaper bag will be my handbag for quite some time.
I recently got the MJ mini tote in wet cement ( leather) and really happy with it. Despite the mini size , it fits a full size iPad and zips up. Perfect to everyday carry

Agreed, I've seen the tote around but the logo is a bit much for me. I purchased my Strathberry bag a few years back and its holding up really well. I wouldn't say I abuse it, but I don't baby it and it's doing great. Leather and workmanship is beautiful and the attention to detail is on point. Never regretted the purchase and also helps I got it on a random sale for 30% off at Saks so that's a plus. I am also from the States and I've only seen Strathberry bags only a couple of times on other people, so it is quite unique and understated.
My husband drove off with my Strathberry wallet on the roof of the car in a snowstorm. We found it down the street at the end of the day, probably rolled over by snowplows and cars and it was still intact. Of course, the metal broke but my cards were all safe and sound which was THE BEST. 😂
I really like Burberry ready-to-wear. I am glad you mention Marc Jacobs as their bags used to be quite expensive, around 1k back in 2006, but the brand has since went with cheaper designs once Marc by Marc Jacobs took off. I was kind of done with Chanel after their out of touch price hikes during 2020 and I think they are on their way back to being a brand in the background again. There, but not always in everyone's faces and replicated by other designers the way they are now.
It’s definitely hard to justify some of the designer prices at the moment but as you said it’s the way things are going and they aren’t coming down. I know it’s not a popular topic on here but I would love for you to go into depth with your car experiences and how you and David choose which cars you buy as well as a review of the mclaren and Porsche. Oh heavens, I buy at least 2 of everything that I like dresses, handbags and so on. If it's comfortable and I find it attractive it's always 2 or more. Especially high end items don't tend to date. I have here ( and use ) a Dior handbag that was my mother's in around the 60's. I also have and wear some Burberry that was my mother's too. I don't particularly buy vintage items but I love the family pieces I'm lucky enough to have.
I have that light kaki Mark Jacobs canvas bag in large (very big on me but still a great bag and price). Loved it so much, I purchased the black in leather medium, great for work. 🌞
I vastly prefer the Marc Jacobs to the Dior Book Tote. When it comes to deciding whether to buy multiples of the same bag, I honestly think it depends on two factors: 1. How much do you love the bag and 2. How wealthy you are. If you have to go without and save for years, it may not be worth having multiples, but if you have the means to comfortable own more than one of the same bags, why not have both! I always enjoy the mail readings! Ironically, when I first became interested in luxury, I did not really have the means to comfortably buy the items. Now that it is a possibility for me, I categorically refuse to pay the exorbitant prices. The prices do not match the physical/emotional value of the item. I would rather keep the money to travel once the troubles are over. Thank you for the video!

I purchased the Marc Jacobs Tote Bag in Large and in black for work and it’s a warrior! I thought about a tote for months to replace my Longchamp Rousseau (I wanted something with thicker straps) and I am IN LOVE with my Tote Bag. Well worth the money AND I used a code to get it on a discount through Farfetch. It fits everything I need, and more, and I’ve taken it through the ringer and it’s holding up, looks almost as good as new! Would recommend a bag organizer though as it’s a bit of a black hole hahaha 🤣
I feel like owning same bags in different colors/sizes can actually be a great idea, since they will definitely look different with different outfits, and at the same time create a signature look/style associated with the person wearing them.

I use my Marc Jacobs tote daily for work and the black canvas is fading quite badly on the corners and edges. Also the roughness of the canvas ruined a pair of pants by rubbing on it when I was walking. It’s like sandpaper. I think I’m going to buy the leather version.
I have the large MJ tote in black canvas. By far my favourite tote, I don't even half fill it when I use it . I want to get the medium next. The price is amazing too. Like the look of the moschiino bucket bag too

I made the mistake and bought 4 Dior book totes 😂 I only wear one. The other 3 are just sitting in the closet and collecting dust. Just be careful people with the first mark jacobs tote. I’m a teacher and bought it as a work bag, so nice. I completely forgot and used it with jeans. OMG TJE COLOR TRANSFER made it horrible. I washed it and made it worse.
I totally agree on the price of items it has become unacceptable with some brands because of the quality issues, I have always loved luxury but even I have put a stop to purchasing from the big big brands, I love mulberry and Aspinal of London quality is impeccable and prices are ‘reasonable’ if that’s the word to use, fab video ❤️❤️❤️

I love Chloe 💜 their leather goods are exceptional! I’m quite sure all my boots are Chloe at this point lol and they hold up well over the years. It’s the padlock on the Paddington that does it for me lol, it’s an easily recognisable feature without an over the top logo (I say this even though their bags are all embellished ). I find the brand as a whole has a high tier boho chic vibe, but unsure if the have more structured bags that would suit a formal setting

Hammitt Bags... I've actually started falling in love with these, especially the Bryant (and Daniel is cool too for a bigger size). They are reasonably priced (relative to luxury brands) and have a very cool vibe.
These bags were great recommendations! I don`t know if it is just me, but I have recently been more interested looking into great contemporary bag designs and less interested in the very high end bags. I already have all the chanels I need and am not into Hermes and now I see all these other cool designs I have been ignoring.

My favourite brand is YSL. I used to stock up on their goods during sales every year. Unfortunately, this year they stopped doing sales and also increased the prices. Totally gutted 🙈. I can't think of any other brand that suits my rock'n'roll style. Unless you have any suggestions 😉

Hello nice videos but I didn’t get why you put the smaller bags at the back of the organisational cubes in your organisational video. The small ones get hidden by the larger ones in front and one tends to forget one has them!
I can afford the bags I have and the bags I want right now-they happen to be designer. However, the bags I carried when I couldn’t afford designer I happened to love. I didn’t buy bags I couldn’t afford, I found ones within my budget that spoke to me and I don’t regret it for a minute. I remember being being a woman at the pediatrician’s office waiting for my sons’ appointment, and she was head to toe in designer this and that with a beautiful Gucci bag but she didn’t have the $25 to pay for her visit. Not in cash, not on a credit card-and of course she berated the staff because of it. All of a sudden she looked so cheap…I wasn’t dressed in much by my kids’ copay was taken care of.
I feel like I've got a good amount of luxury bags, that i don't even get to use as much as I'd like bc I'm a mom, so I've been buying alot more contemporary for various reasons. Currently, my favorites are my leather mini marc jacobs the tote bag, my pillow madison sholder bag from coach, and my leather birkin dupe which looks exactly like the birkin 25 in a beautiful turquoise color but it has 0 logos on it. I've just been so drawn to alot of contemporary styles lately and the price, while it's still not cheap (around 500$), is much easier to stomach. I get bored easily with my bags so I've finally reached the point where i have a beautiful selection of luxury bags (9) and a beautiful selection of contemporary bags (even more). You can only carry so many bags and get use out of them.

I am also from the States and I've only seen Strathberry bags only a couple of times on other people, so it is quite unique and understated.
Strathberry bags are amazing quality and particularly for the price. Take a look at DeMellier too; another Royal favourite!
My husband drove off with my Strathberry wallet on the roof of the car in a snowstorm. We found it down the street at the end of the day, probably rolled over by snowplows and cars and it was still intact. Of course, the metal broke but my cards were all safe and sound which was THE BEST. 😂
I really like Burberry ready-to-wear. I am glad you mention Marc Jacobs as their bags used to be quite expensive, around 1k back in 2006, but the brand has since went with cheaper designs once Marc by Marc Jacobs took off. I was kind of done with Chanel after their out of touch price hikes during 2020 and I think they are on their way back to being a brand in the background again. There, but not always in everyone's faces and replicated by other designers the way they are now.
It’s definitely hard to justify some of the designer prices at the moment but as you said it’s the way things are going and they aren’t coming down. I know it’s not a popular topic on here but I would love for you to go into depth with your car experiences and how you and David choose which cars you buy as well as a review of the mclaren and Porsche. I got the mini Marc Jacobs tote in pink two months ago and I am in love! The quality is great and it is so versatile and striking! I’m already thinking of getting another one in another color.

Had my Marc Jacobs mini tote since before Christmas. Mines the leather in argan oil and I was so impressed with the quality I just bought the bucket by Marc Jacobs in black. Check that one out it’s a great bag and the leather is lovely and soft ☺️

Sophie, I tried to buy the Moschino on the link, and it was $895 USD. I searched it and got it for $311 on Italist!!!! Weirdly there was only one at that price and now it’s just under $500 USD. Still a steal. Good for when you don’t want to use your expensive bags.:)

Oh heavens, I buy at least 2 of everything that I like dresses, handbags and so on. If it's comfortable and I find it attractive it's always 2 or more. Especially high end items don't tend to date. I have here ( and use ) a Dior handbag that was my mother's in around the 60's. I also have and wear some Burberry that was my mother's too. I don't particularly buy vintage items but I love the family pieces I'm lucky enough to have.

I have that light kaki Mark Jacobs canvas bag in large (very big on me but still a great bag and price). Loved it so much, I purchased the black in leather medium, great for work. 🌞
I vastly prefer the Marc Jacobs to the Dior Book Tote. When it comes to deciding whether to buy multiples of the same bag, I honestly think it depends on two factors: 1. How much do you love the bag and 2. How wealthy you are. If you have to go without and save for years, it may not be worth having multiples, but if you have the means to comfortable own more than one of the same bags, why not have both! I always enjoy the mail readings!
Ironically, when I first became interested in luxury, I did not really have the means to comfortably buy the items. Now that it is a possibility for me, I categorically refuse to pay the exorbitant prices. The prices do not match the physical/emotional value of the item. I would rather keep the money to travel once the troubles are over.

I purchased the Marc Jacobs Tote Bag in Large and in black for work and it’s a warrior! I thought about a tote for months to replace my Longchamp Rousseau (I wanted something with thicker straps) and I am IN LOVE with my Tote Bag. Well worth the money AND I used a code to get it on a discount through Farfetch. It fits everything I need, and more, and I’ve taken it through the ringer and it’s holding up, looks almost as good as new! Would recommend a bag organizer though as it’s a bit of a black hole hahaha 🤣
I feel like owning same bags in different colors/sizes can actually be a great idea, since they will definitely look different with different outfits, and at the same time create a signature look/style associated with the person wearing them.

I use my Marc Jacobs tote daily for work and the black canvas is fading quite badly on the corners and edges. Also the roughness of the canvas ruined a pair of pants by rubbing on it when I was walking. It’s like sandpaper. I think I’m going to buy the leather version.

Just be careful people with the first mark jacobs tote. I’m a teacher and bought it as a work bag, so nice. I completely forgot and used it with jeans. OMG TJE COLOR TRANSFER made it horrible. I washed it and made it worse.
I totally agree on the price of items it has become unacceptable with some brands because of the quality issues, I have always loved luxury but even I have put a stop to purchasing from the big big brands, I love mulberry and Aspinal of London quality is impeccable and prices are ‘reasonable’ if that’s the word to use, fab video ❤️❤️❤️

I love Chloe 💜 their leather goods are exceptional! I’m quite sure all my boots are Chloe at this point lol and they hold up well over the years. It’s the padlock on the Paddington that does it for me lol, it’s an easily recognisable feature without an over the top logo (I say this even though their bags are all embellished ). I find the brand as a whole has a high tier boho chic vibe, but unsure if the have more structured bags that would suit a formal setting

Hammitt Bags... I've actually started falling in love with these, especially the Bryant (and Daniel is cool too for a bigger size). They are reasonably priced (relative to luxury brands) and have a very cool vibe.
These bags were great recommendations! I don`t know if it is just me, but I have recently been more interested looking into great contemporary bag designs and less interested in the very high end bags. I already have all the chanels I need and am not into Hermes and now I see all these other cool designs I have been ignoring.
I brought the Marc Jacob’s bag last month and it is amazing I love it and I am thinking of buying it in the leather. A brilliant bag for going to work. Could not recommend it enough
My favourite brand is YSL. I used to stock up on their goods during sales every year. Unfortunately, this year they stopped doing sales and also increased the prices. Totally gutted 🙈. I can't think of any other brand that suits my rock'n'roll style. Unless you have any suggestions 😉

I can afford the bags I have and the bags I want right now-they happen to be designer. However, the bags I carried when I couldn’t afford designer I happened to love. I didn’t buy bags I couldn’t afford, I found ones within my budget that spoke to me and I don’t regret it for a minute. I remember being being a woman at the pediatrician’s office waiting for my sons’ appointment, and she was head to toe in designer this and that with a beautiful Gucci bag but she didn’t have the $25 to pay for her visit. Not in cash, not on a credit card-and of course she berated the staff because of it. All of a sudden she looked so cheap…I wasn’t dressed in much by my kids’ copay was taken care of.
And I love that you’re showing a variety of price points-we can all appreciate that.
I feel like I've got a good amount of luxury bags, that i don't even get to use as much as I'd like bc I'm a mom, so I've been buying alot more contemporary for various reasons. Currently, my favorites are my leather mini marc jacobs the tote bag, my pillow madison sholder bag from coach, and my leather birkin dupe which looks exactly like the birkin 25 in a beautiful turquoise color but it has 0 logos on it.
I've just been so drawn to alot of contemporary styles lately and the price, while it's still not cheap (around 500$), is much easier to stomach. I get bored easily with my bags so I've finally reached the point where i have a beautiful selection of luxury bags (9) and a beautiful selection of contemporary bags (even more). You can only carry so many bags and get use out of them.
