    That last "incorrect" ride was hilarious to watch. I wouldn't be upset if you made a whole video on how to goon.

    I'm a "new to dirt" bike rider, and these videos really help to get me mentally prepared to go out there and get some good experience under my belt - hopefully without starting out with a ton of bad habits. It is much easier to learn good habits starting out than to break bad habits, and it is very different riding dirt than on the street. Thank you for making these vids. :)

      Same here I rode dirt first but not a lot .. I rode the street, canyons and the track... then a friend put me on to “a twist of the wrist” by Keith code... after I attended California super bike school .. the video and the class was the best decision I ever made.... change my riding 100% ... went from a really slow unsafe rider to a good B rider ... I’m back in the dirt again I got myself a couple small pit bikes and then I got a new yz250fx... I’ve been try to educate myself as much as possible and trying to bring as much experience and info as i can from the street ... I want to attend a dirt bike school to really get some great I’m person lessons

    I’m new to dirt biking. I’ve been practicing in our pastures, but the other day took it out to a popular wooded area with trails. I was disappointed to see so much sugar sand so new to riding. I’ll stick to my pastures for now while I become a more confident rider. These tips are very useful! Love your videos!

    Question about tire setup: When an outdoor track is sandy AND has hardpack, it it best to put a soft/sand tire on the front and leave the more intermediate wheel on the back? (I'm running Kenda Millvilles and there are some sandier tracks in my future and I am wondering about putting a Washugal tire on the front.) The tread is the biggest difference I see and I am wondering if I put a tire made for sandier/softer conditions if that will help my riding. (And yes, I am aware that riding more will help my riding, but I will take any help I can get.)

      Why do you say little to no front brake use? I use it all the time, sometimes even more than the rear brake.

    • @Phil2stroke
      @Phil2stroke 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mike Jeskin in real loose sand if you use the front brakes you’re front wheel will wash out from underneath you ! When you ride sand you don’t want to put your weight in front! Keep the front light because of that baking with the front won’t offer good results (dune riders remove there front brake because they are useless)

    Get a 2 stroke. 4 strokes have too much weight on the front tire and that’s what causes the front end to knife in corners. 2 strokes stay on top of the sand where 4 strokes sink down into it a lot more.
