Because everyone in this comment section seems very confused, let me clear some things up. First of all, this is not the Broadway or even a condensed Broadway version. This is a version especially written by Disney as a show in Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. The changes and cuts they made were necessary to keep the show under its time limit. Secondly, these performers most likely aren’t professional actors/singers (or at least not at the level that Broadway performers are) but they are better than every high school production of Beauty and the Beast I have seen, so try looking at them from that perspective.

Whenever you see Gaston being portrayed at a Disney park, whether it be on a stage or next to that tavern, he's wearing special padding under the costume that gives him the appearance of big muscles!

Actually I think he ran behind stage so fast you couldn’t see him and then the prince ran in his spot and then they took it off for the Beast’s transformation
