Angmar has a very clear transition from early to late game troops. I really wish Mordor had something like that, I always struggle with their late game
I used to like Angmar until I fought misty mountains / Isengard on Brutal with 1k start. Then I just went back to Mordor and never looked back lol. Their Early game feels super weak, dont like the axe throwers at all because of the damage type they deal + low range. Feels really tough to hold settlements as them aswell and you REALLY need them for the tribute carts or else you have the worst eco in the game.
On certain maps Angmar can struggle to keep settlements long enough for tribute carts to arrive but they have improved angmar in several small ways including the portcullis at the back of their castles so the carts can enter the base safely. Ive had several games where I got trapped in the base unable to escape and axe throwers are the perfect counter to siege engines trying to break the gates because of their slash damage which also make them more capable against infantry. Also rushing for an outpost for that instant tribute cart can stop potential level blocking from an ai
They dont do much which is why you have them focus on infantry and let your pikemen deal with monsters and when you get men of carn dum you use them instead, helegwen is also very powerful against mountain giants her level 1 ability if all the arrows hit the giant can severely wound if not kill them. Also near the end of this video I showed how I dealt with the mountain giants, dont let the MM ai get outposts

It comes down to their outpost units and using saurons influence for upgrades mainly it is not as smooth of a learning curve for sure
Naodline being sick is like saying raining is humid.
Its been a rough month for me
Is it weird I like playing Gulzar over the other wizards (Istari). He feels more like a wizard than they.
He can be very fun, a leader of a wizard cult firing green lightning from afar is very appealing haha

@@Naodline2627 Yeah, thats all true. But what do axe throwers do against mountain giants?
