    It never ceases to amaze me just how unique each faction feels and plays in this mod. Not even many professional game developers can pull this off.

      Yeah this mod has made amazing leaps for rts gaming with what every faction has, if Isengard can get a little more in the future that will have me satisfied with every faction

      @@Naodline2627 looking forward to it. Currently, the feeling I get for them is that they are meant to be played like a spammy horde faction in the late game (but with troops that arent arrow fodder). In the early game and mid game, you spend a lot of time on the back foot and trying to build up that steamroller economy.

      @@Naodline2627 I'd say adding Sarumans influence for units, making it more dependant on him, and also enhancing wildmen by adding them versality and better upgrades.

    I would be interested to see a list of ranking factions from weakest to strongest.
    Paradoxically isengard to me, is one of weaker factions to play in pvp and if you are playing against AI, but Isengard can be very hard to beat, if the AI is playing as Isengard.
    Lothlorien to me is one of the weakest factions overall and also hard to play, but still I love to play as Lothlorien 😀

    • @Naodline2627
      @Naodline2627  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah lorien and isengard do feel more on the weaker end of the faction strength, Isengard needs some tuning and lorien needs to be used by skilled hands

    Nice! I mostly agree, except for Angmar; in my opinion it is in a weird spot for a new player of the mod.
    Let me explain:
    1) Starting out you have the feeling it is the same faction from vanilla, but in vanilla you had a vastly different roster/roles for units; for example, in vanilla you often spammed trolls because they were really powerful (at least vs ai), now the roster has changed a lot.
    2) The tribute cart sistem is not easy for a new player to grasp I think and lets to a lot of frustration if you do not expand enought
    3) There can be quite a lot of confusion at the start because of the many buildings that recruit units: at the start you kinda fell lost when you cannot find all the heroes or you do not know if building mages is good or not
    4) I also think that some heroes have powers that are a bit more complicated than the rest and the "power through sacrifice" approach may not be super easy for a new player
    That said, after a while I think it becomes a lot easier because you can mostly attack move armies in the mid/late game and, as soon as you understand the mechanics, it is not that difficult to manage Angmar compared to other factions.
    So, in conclusion, I would split Angmar:
    as a new player, I'd say it is harder than Iron Hills and Arnor at least BUT
    as soon as you understand the basics and where to find everithing, it is probably right where you put it. (Still think that Iron Hills might be easier)
    I feel like the other faction remain more consistent in difficulty even after you understand the concept (to a degree of course: even if I master Lothlorien it will still be a difficult faction in general).
    Love the video :)

      Thanks mate, yeah putting angmar maybe 1 step lower would have made more sense if a new player tries diving into a game without checking the faction out first

    The best mod would be a mix between Edain Mod (Hero Submod include), Age of the Ring (Realms in Exile) and Battle of the Third Age.

    For me,your list is highly accurate except the imladris, I think its pretty wild to put it as the hardest to play. Screw the noldorian blood!! (Im not not a Nûmenorian patrioter :D)

      @Naodline2627  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I had to revise where I was putting Imladris a few times, their early game you need to be handling the library, erestor, keeping your troops alive and if you forget about the library as a newer player, youre forced into a bad position

    Also I have a question. Did your game crashes while playing Misty Mountains in first 10 minutes? Its so annoying that whenever I play as Misty Mountains, it crashes after 10 mins but i dont have this problem with other factions. It doesnt crashes while ai playing misty mountains, its just me. b

    Regarding Isengard, since it's my favourite faction I played it in a variety of mods and I remember struggling a lot in Edain (we're talking about 4.0 days). While the core concept of weak early game - stronger late game is integral to the faction identity, it often feels as an excessive struggle if not done correctly. I personally liked the solution adopted by the Age of the Ring team, giving certain heroes early leaderships divided between Wildmen, Wargs and Uruks, so that through your first heroes you can focus in a certain direction of your early game and later transition naturally towards mid/late game troops. This would not necessarily require a rework of the Edain heroes, maybe implementing some sort of gimmick able to improve a certain portion of the early army could serve the same purpose, like some mutually exclusive cheap upgrades. For example a Wildmen specialization that allows the recruitment of spearmen regardless of Wulfgar, a Scout specialization that allows to recruit more than 4 batallions or a Warg specialization that offers some other advantage. So the player can still have a versatile strategy depending on its choice and have a more sustainable early game.

      I have a video prepped going over some changes I would make to Isengard, some are small and simple but the main part of it is have a more power economic presence from start to finish and be able to get the main uruk units faster but still gotta wait to get the best out of them
