Not sure if you’re only talking about their world record races but they definitely got pushed. Michael Johnson more than Usain though. Frank Fredericks used to give Michael Johnson fits all the time and even beat Michael Johnson a few times. Just TH-cam it, crazy rivalry. Wallace Spearman was initially Usain Bolts rival before Bolt ever won the Olympics, after that it was over in the 200m.
Johnson's next best time ever was 19.66 - only the 36th fastest ever and that was with a nice +1.7 wind too. He ran this miracle once and it was his absolute maxed potential. Bolt ran both his WRs into headwinds - that same 19.19s run would have been about 19.07s with the same favourable wind Johnson had. Bolt likely didn't come close to his potential with his overreliance on sheer speed in the 200m. He could have significantly improved his 200m times if he actually cared to do so and probably should have gone very close to if not break 19.0s.
@@malligrubbolt got bit lazy after 2009 he didn't practise in 2010 which arguably could been his physical peak. Bolt was just turning 23 running wr but sprinters peak at around age 24-25. Bolt not being on optimal shape resulted that he got injured and didn't get fully fit for 2011 which probably would been another chance. He could still have chance in 2012 lower records but he got angle strain before olympics. Now some rumours say bolt was not training hard either until blake beat him in jamaican trials.
I'm not making comparison in general... but talking about the 2 runs, Michael breaks several meters before the line, whils Usain stretched his back to gain every small piece of time... That makes the small difference...
What a duel that would be!!!! MJ forever!
both never really got pushed in the 200. If they both ran against each other the record would be destroyed. I would say Michael would win.

Michael would no doubt have a hamstring injury as bolt goes ahead of him on the straight
Bolt ran a 19.19 200m

If only they would have been from the same era
You are thinking so to smart bro to come up with this idea.its amazing.I love to watch it over and over.😊 blessed one love.
I love Michael Johnson. ❤

MJ is Legend but Usain Bolt is GOAT
Bolt is the 100m GOAT, Johnson is the 400m GOAT. At 200m they are even. Out of all their records, MJ's 19.32s was the most mind blowing record ever.
@@amjan More mind blowing than Bolt’s 19.19 200m?
And he hesitated Michael Johnson so he could’ve tied it or still have the record look at the clip
and that's cuz Michael stumbled on his 3rd step...
Usain bolt is the best but Michael Johnson Is the greatest. 😉
