I have a 2014 Q50 and I absolutely love it. Best car I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of cars. The 3.7 is such a great engine. HOWEVER, I would kill for a manual. God I miss that. Your ride sounds great!!
Scundo yea the manual is why I got the G over the Q. Hopefully when it’s time to replace the Q will have a manual option because of the new Z.

Man i wish my g35 had that engine, the g37 styling isnt my forte but that power is amazing. G35 looks with g37 power is a match made in heaven.

@@kemmebudhai5160 g35 has the vq35 or vq35hr and the g37 comes with the vq37vhr which has a .2 liter displacement over the g35, and the car has 328hp for the base model compared to the g35s 306
Only 2007-2008 g35 sedans have the hr with 306 hp, Revup engine in the manual coupes from 2005-2007 made 298-300 and the regular DE thats in 90% of G35's made like 280-285

You know you can't rev that high unless your tuner up's the rpm limit, right? It only revs to 7400-7500 stock

This is hella late on my part but I was in the market for a G37 2 years ago, I really wanted a 6 speed sedan and I would watch this video daily imagining I was you. Ended up getting a better deal on a 2012 Mustang GT and haven't looked back, but watching this video sure did hype me up for possible G37 ownership
the fact that your hand was on the shifter the whole time bothers me as well as the way you shift...its just me thou. "sometimes the the sick sound of the exhaust promotes bad habits."

Love the sound of the VQ motor! I wonder how the new VQ turbo motors will sound they Infiniti is releasing. I wish the Q50 still offered a 6 speed.
+Mrlolibre the exhaust should sound similar (i've been told by a fer GTR ppl that the E370 makes it sound similar) but the intake will take on a different intake sound.. NA intakes always sound different to boosted.

And it’s red, nice! I’m a Z guy but I’ll take a G sedan if it’s manual they’re so hard to find though.
I had a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT (Rev Up engine) years ago when they were new. The two complaints I had are: (1) It seemed like the car was trying to do some kind of rev matching that was actually kind of intrusive and made it less smooth for a seasoned manual shift driver, way less in tune with the car than the older 90s standard transmission Nissans I was used to.
(2) The drive by wire was a bit laggy. I could step on the accelerator, take my foot completely off, the pedal would be returned up already, and it would still be reving up. One time I even timed it and if I was really quick I could get up almost completely out of the car and be halfway out at least one foot planted on the ground and it would still be either near the peak or just started winding down. So there was a significant lag from the input at the pedal to the servo at the throttle. I can't recall if I tested with VDC off and if it made a difference but perhaps in theory that could make it less because it doesn't have to account for traction control.
I tried another Infinti G Coupe 6MT and an Infinit G Sedan AT of the same era and the other 6MT was the same weird assisted shifting and the AT didn't have as much throttle lag. So I guess it was "normal" from everything I've heard about the 6MT but suffice it to say it really hurt the driving experience and made it less enjoyable than the older Nissan Z, 240SX, Maxima, etc... even my Frontier (D40, same era) 6MT shifted better. Hell, as far as other brands, I even had an older '99 C5 Corvette and an early 00s Volvo S60, both with drive by wire and the throttle didn't suck like that nor did the shifter rev match (if any) interfere with me. I hope Nissan/Infiniti had fixed that by the time they made this car here.

For the most part, RESTING your hand on the shifter does nothing.That problem generally died years ago and was a problem that mainly occurred in Honda’s and Acura’s because of weak shifter forks.
Bro, dumb random question but...where did you get that phone mount? Lol. And does it hook to the air vent or does it hook somewhere in that space between the air vent and the odometer
Nice video. I just got an 09 g37s manual sedan and it seems a bit hard to get going in 1st gear at times. My main concern is second gear. get it wrong and I will get this vigorous jerk which makes me wonder if something is wrong with it. Runs nice otherwise but too quiet.
yea with the stock high engagement of the clutch pedal its a crap shoot but check out the RJM aftermarket pedal..

Also if you're just going to be in 6th go there from 4th. No point in 5th for half a second. I have a t56 swapped car and I'll go 4th to 6th often especially if I've gotten up to speed.

Ok forget about rev matching for now. You may get in trouble.
The 1st gear take off can be a pita. Google “g37 clutch pedal spring” there is a lighter one that makes taking off easier. Also eventually get a rjm clutch pedal assembly.

SavageRC1 we get more ice than snow. I don't drive the car once the salt/brine is on the roads. I use the minivan because the wife doesn't like driving on snow/ice.

Resting your hand on the sifter can damage your Transmissions Synchronizes.... This is coming from someone who ACTUALLY works on cars at a Nissan dealership. Nissan makes Infiniti in case you didn't know lol.
