I wish the Hornet was my first kit, but got am MRC Pro-10 instead for Christmas. That car was a pain for parts locally compared to Tamiya and Associated. I bought a used Frog from my local hobby store that had many CRP upgrades that I later installed on my new Blackfoot.
Since it doesn't come with proper bearings fitted I'm going to buy a kit instead. If it came as a kit with a painted shell then I would be happy as I really don't like the painting it part, just the building it part.
Even with all the modern high performance brushless buggies and trucks, The classic Tamiya Buggies and trucks from the 8o's score equally high marks I'm the "cool factor" department.
My only wish for these XSA kits is that Tamiya should have gone the extra mile and re-acquired the licenses for the real world sponsors that were on the original release. The genericised and parody logos on the re-issue just don't hold a candle to the real logos.

My first one was the Monster Beetle kit.

Not that I know of 🤔

I had a B3.
How many of us had a Hornet as our first RC I wonder?? A lot it seems. Jealous!
Yeah, the Hornet is responsible for lots of RC addicts lol

Doesn't come with ball bearings either.
I think they are bushings
@@theRCelement Damn. That is just what I feared. So much for "expert" build eh? Experts put in proper bearings from the start.
I have videos of my hornet running.
I have a hornet.
Please no shelf queens.
Why don’t they just sell them ready to go
Yeah they should sell a rtr huh 🤔. I think they did at one point
They do in Japan. I just bought one. Its the expert built model ready to run
