honestly liking low rise, mid rise, or high rise jeans is just a preference. and u r body shaming by saying that so many women don't wear low waisted jeans well because you can see their stomach fat. stomach fat is natural, if u r bothered by it then ok, but it is not ur body. if women want to wear low waisted jeans, let them it doesn't hurt you. women having stomach fat and still wearing low waisted jeans is not "them not wearing them well". for example, you aren't going to tell someone they can't wear a bikini because they don't have a perfectly toned body, because all body types are different, and most of them aren't skinny, but all of them are beautiful.
You are a miracle worker I went straight to my cupboard pulled out a whole lot of jeans that I couldn't wear before and now I have a full new wardrobe...thanks a whole bunch. Will be looking out for more of your miracle.
I’ve been a seamstress for over 50 years, and I draft my own patterns. In my opinion, your modification looks ok, but taking that much fabric out at the crotch would make the jeans very uncomfortable to wear. They would pinch.
@@Iamrahcole do the cut as it was the original. Same curb but lower. I believe she cut off the curb that its like a (¿ ) form to do this(|). Sorry I couldn't find a better way to explain. Cutting off that little curb will make your legs tide and with not form you can see on her front part in between the legs how tide it is..
Totally agree! Also this cut will shorten the legs of those jeans. So if you want to be able to sit in your jeans, don't do this. She didn't dublicate the over stiching on the seams, which looks cheap.
@@Iamrahcole There are no suggestions. Please see my comment in this discussion. Low(mid)-waist and high-waist patterns are totally different. By cutting away fabric at the crotch you automatically making them pinched and distorted around that area. Just prettier buttons can save shirts or jackets. BUT JEANS ARE A MYSTERY AND TO CHANGE ONE STYLE INTO ANOTHER…GIRL YOU ARE THE EINSTEIN OF MAKEOVERS!!
I know this video is from two years ago but I gotta say THANK YOU. This was the first video about this trick I could actually follow. And as a environmentalist and budgeter who likes to thrift it’s hard to buy high waisted second hand (because it’s still popular) but easy to find low (because everyone got rid of them although god help us it’s coming back). I’ve already successfully altered a pair of knee length summer shorts and black pants, both bought second hand, and they came out brilliant thanks to you. Extremely grateful! 👍🙏❤️
This is amazing! I've seen videos where you add another waistband above the existing one to make it higher waisted but I think it's too bulky that way. This method is fantastic! Can't wait to change all of my jeans!
I am going to try this! I highly recommend people with thicker thighs or that do alot of bending to take this opportunity to reinforce this seam by finishing the crotch seam with a top stitch and zig zag stitch, (or if you have the time and hand needle finesses, a french hem) and consider adding a saddle or facing ribbon along the crotch seam. Please remember to press your seam after stitching! We want our clothes to be flawless as long as possible too :)
@@SSNUTHIN I'm not having any discomfort problems as I wouldn't want to try this but I am just surprised that people aren't thinking this through before they cut and think the seams are ripping open when they sit solely because they didn't use a strong enough thread. @@laceandbits Oh yes that makes sense. I definitely wouldn't recommend this with a pair of pants that fit snug. this is an incredible idea! i am trying it right now on some jeans i thrifted thet were waaay too low. i am SHOOK how well its working so far. you are a literal genius.
This is so awesome. I have been having this problem for years. Most of the pants today are too short in the crotch seam. I thought there was no answer. Thank you for this fabulous tutorial. Amazing❣️
As everyone noticed, some of the leg is converted to increase the length at the waist, I'm assuming the fit could get a bit uncomfortable on the legs, thighs specifically. The leg of the pant becomes narrower as you go lower especially as you go higher in pant size. I'm still going to try it and see how it works! Thanks 😊
THAT WAS AMAZING. I THOUGHT U WERE GOING TO ADD TO THE WAISTBAND AND I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF WORK, NEVER THOUGHT OF DOING THE CRUTCH AREA, SO SIMPLE. WELL DONE!
My butt and wardrobe both thank you 😭 I was watching the beginning and the reveal thinking there's no possible way they're the same pants! Your video is so perfect for me! My pants never fit right and finding high waisted pants that fit my leg length, waist, and hips is impossible. THANK YOU!
This tutorial was really a good one.i tried it and was quite pleased.have you done one where the seam is double stitch on the outer part like a jeans one.
I kept thinking, there's no way! No way to add fabric to these pants to make them high waist! You are a genius! I never would have thought of this! Great job! Thank you!
HELP! the tutorial is very good. Easy to follow. But as I thought my thighs now are super tight and the jeans are very uncomfortable. Any tips on that?
Completely agree! Used to have a low rise phase and it was terrible! Now I wear mid waisted (wish they were high) because that's all I can find at the thrift store in my size. And I tuck my shirts in to show the beauty 😊 (Edit: thank you for this video. I was a little worried at first but it definitely came through. Would do a little extra work to make it look like the original stitch, though.
Thank you, I have Hips, and a small waist. I’ve had jeans ruined by dry cleaners who do alterations,(you can’t just take 4 inches out of a waist band and still be able to slide the jeans over hips). I hate “hip huggers”, that’s what we called them back in the day. I’m already lining up my low rise jeans! And looking forward to a better looking waist line! Thank you!
Take as long as you need to to do this! There’s absolutely no rush. I think most people go into DIY projects thinking it’ll be super quick (some projects are but that’s just not the case for most projects!) and I’ve done this for so long and know how frustrating it can be when it feels like you’re going too slow but that’s completely fine! That’s the beauty of DIY - you go at YOUR pace and I love encouraging that 🥺
The back of the fixed jeans look weird because the seam stops in a very unflattering place. It may work better on a pair of pants without the flat seam.
You need to open more of the back seam so you can blend the curves together better, and then redo with a proper run and fell seam so it matches the rest.
Thank you so much! I hate low waisted and mid waisted jeans. Not attractive on my body. Now I can buy mid waist (which are too long) and turn them into high waisted. Who would have dreamed it was so easy! Can't thank you enough. Your instructions and demonstration are easy to follow, and this can be done rather quickly.
OMG 😍😍😍😍 you came to save me 😍😍😍😍 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️ you're the absolutely best person out there ❤️❤️❤️❤️ like honestly I'm so happy rn 💕💕💕💕💕 thank you so so so soooo much
Your handle “Fashion WIZARDRY” fits so perfectly because this truly was! 🌟 Jeans are always too low waisted and too long legged for me so this is perfect for me!!! Thank you thank you 👏👏👏
Even if I never get around to sewing again (it's been years or being too busy) I love seeing how to do things like this because this in particular was something I hadn't thought possible. Thank you very much.
Thank you! I will try this on my low rise jeans. I shop at thrift stores and my size is hard to find, living in a small town. I have to buy it when I see it, so I'm always cuffing jeans or hemming them by hand. Thanks so much for your tutorial! 👍😄
Latifa Begum how do you recommend she completely change the stitching of some jeans so they become high waisted? Of course it’s not going to be easy if you’ve never sewn before, but if you have you could follow this pretty damn easily
Okay, this tutorial is really some kind of magic lol. I have these jeans that fit my hips and booty, but the makers clearly forgot that plus size ladies have tummies, so at low/mid rise, they squeezed something fierce. They were also waaay too long in the leg - like, the women they were made for were clearly made different. Some 6' amazonian lady with big hips and no tummy. I am one of those things. So I followed the tutorial but added an additional 3" to the cr*tch area - and boom, I'm now in possession of the best fitting pants I've ever worn in my entire life.
Where have you been all my life? Seriously, you have no idea. I have a long torso, 10" is short waisted. I have recently found a few pair of high waisted trousers, 15" is what works for me. And then I often have to take the waist in, do they not realise women go in at the waist? This was amazing, thanks so much!
Fashion Wizardry Omgoodness my most wanted video I had no idea that this can fix a low or mid rise jean into a high waist jean thanks I love it I didn't want my favourite pair of jean to go waste now I love the fabrics and fit but I hate when its loose on the butt while sitting down or walking too much Thank you 🙏🙏❤️
i think that could be solved by leaving more fabric on one side, folding it over and sewing over it, so it looks similar to the original seam. and also it's worth changing the zipper to a longer one (or just lenghtening that part to look like a longer zipper), it makes the crotch area look better :D
Thank you so much for this tutorial ❤ Your teaching style is very thorough and encouraging too 😊 This is going to help me so much with these cute jeans I just bought!

I've been looking for this since i was in secondary school omg you are so talented
❤️❤️
The name of this channel is extremely accurate. This is literally magic
YOU HAVE READ MY MIND I was looking for a tutorial like this last week haha. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Happy to help! 😁
Thanks for watching 💕
This is so awesome. I have been having this problem for years. Most of the pants today are too short in the crotch seam. I thought there was no answer. Thank you for this fabulous tutorial. Amazing❣️
As everyone noticed, some of the leg is converted to increase the length at the waist, I'm assuming the fit could get a bit uncomfortable on the legs, thighs specifically. The leg of the pant becomes narrower as you go lower especially as you go higher in pant size. I'm still going to try it and see how it works! Thanks 😊
I wonder if a gusset could be added to make up for the difference
Y en mos gluteos tambien se achica much
THAT WAS AMAZING. I THOUGHT U WERE GOING TO ADD TO THE WAISTBAND AND I THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A LOT OF WORK, NEVER THOUGHT OF DOING THE CRUTCH AREA, SO SIMPLE. WELL DONE!
this was such a clear tutorial thank you!! i also love the leaf pins theyre so cute
My butt and wardrobe both thank you 😭 I was watching the beginning and the reveal thinking there's no possible way they're the same pants! Your video is so perfect for me! My pants never fit right and finding high waisted pants that fit my leg length, waist, and hips is impossible. THANK YOU!
i've been wondering if this would work for so long but i dont have enough pants to risk experimenting! so glad to see it works. thanks for the video!
You’re welcome!❤️
It doesn't work! Look at the finished project.
I tried this tutorial and was PLEASANTLY surprised at how well it worked AND how easy it was!!
This tutorial was really a good one.i tried it and was quite pleased.have you done one where the seam is double stitch on the outer part like a jeans one.
excellent. That mod had never and would never have occurred to me! it's hard to believe it works -- but it shouldn't be. such a clean transformation.
I like the idea but I feel it makes the crotch look weird with the short zipper.
I'm so happy to come across your videos! So funny, cute and enjoyable!
Completely agree! Used to have a low rise phase and it was terrible! Now I wear mid waisted (wish they were high) because that's all I can find at the thrift store in my size. And I tuck my shirts in to show the beauty 😊
(Edit: thank you for this video.
Thank you!
The video I didn’t know I needed in my life ✨ I can’t wait to do this to all of my low waisted jeans collecting dust in my dresser
You're so sweet saying there's no rush and don't worry. Because this is kind of a new concept to me!
You need to open more of the back seam so you can blend the curves together better, and then redo with a proper run and fell seam so it matches the rest.
so smart!! you changed the rise with a couple snips & stitches!! loved this 🖤
I'll have to try this. I've got a couple pairs of jeans that need an update.👍🏾
WOW...This is wonderful. Can't wait to try this. I stopped wearing jeans because I look terrible in low rise....thanks
I feeL like they looked nicer before but as long as u happy
Thank you so much! I hate low waisted and mid waisted jeans. Not attractive on my body. Now I can buy mid waist (which are too long) and turn them into high waisted. Who would have dreamed it was so easy! Can't thank you enough. Your instructions and demonstration are easy to follow, and this can be done rather quickly.
OMG 😍😍😍😍 you came to save me 😍😍😍😍 thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️ you're the absolutely best person out there ❤️❤️❤️❤️ like honestly I'm so happy rn 💕💕💕💕💕 thank you so so so soooo much
Always happy to help 😊❤️❤️
Your handle “Fashion WIZARDRY” fits so perfectly because this truly was! 🌟
Jeans are always too low waisted and too long legged for me so this is perfect for me!!! Thank you thank you 👏👏👏
I was waiting for this video, thanks for uploading it🦋🌻
❤️❤️
You made it look so easy to do. Your personality is sweet too. Thank you for this video
You are so welcome!
You are a godsend for this!
😁❤️❤️
Girl you look AMAZING and flattering in those low waist jeans.
Thank you for this vid! You make other complicated sewing videos easy and approachable
This is incredible! I tend to find that high waisted jeans are still not high enough sometimes and now I just need to learn how to use my machine
wow thank you! i just tried it and it's pure magic ! all the jeans i'll be able to thrift now yayyy😍😍😍
Even if I never get around to sewing again (it's been years or being too busy) I love seeing how to do things like this because this in particular was something I hadn't thought possible. Thank you very much.
Never knew I needed a video so badly, will be trying! Thank you Queen!!
Happy to help!🤗❤️
Holy crap are you KIDDING ME ????? This is GENIUS
Beautiful... I love highwaisted jeans... LIKE LOVE THEM
They’re my favorite - can’t live without them!
this looks great! Hate low cut........question do you have an easy hack to turn those horrible straight leg jeans into flattering flares???????
Thank u so much!! This really helped
Thank you! I will try this on my low rise jeans. I shop at thrift stores and my size is hard to find, living in a small town. I have to buy it when I see it, so I'm always cuffing jeans or hemming them by hand. Thanks so much for your tutorial! 👍😄
Happy to help!😎
What part of this was ‘easily’
Latifa Begum how do you recommend she completely change the stitching of some jeans so they become high waisted? Of course it’s not going to be easy if you’ve never sewn before, but if you have you could follow this pretty damn easily
Just tried it. Super easy. Took me abot an hour. However now the thigh area is too tight 😔
@@rugimalina2953 And you didn't expect that when you'd just cut away the fabric which makes the top of the thigh and crutch the right shape and size?
girl you are a QUEEN !!! Thank you for the detailed tutorial
I love this video so helpful ❤ high waisted jeans forever!
Say it louder for the people in the back 🗣🗣 high waisted jeans forever 💪🏽
Okay, this tutorial is really some kind of magic lol. I have these jeans that fit my hips and booty, but the makers clearly forgot that plus size ladies have tummies, so at low/mid rise, they squeezed something fierce. They were also waaay too long in the leg - like, the women they were made for were clearly made different. Some 6' amazonian lady with big hips and no tummy. I am one of those things. So I followed the tutorial but added an additional 3" to the cr*tch area - and boom, I'm now in possession of the best fitting pants I've ever worn in my entire life.
Wizardry is in your username for a reason! This is brilliant!
Haha, thank you 🙈❤️
Where have you been all my life? Seriously, you have no idea. I have a long torso, 10" is short waisted. I have recently found a few pair of high waisted trousers, 15" is what works for me. And then I often have to take the waist in, do they not realise women go in at the waist? This was amazing, thanks so much!
So interesting how these used to be called "mom jeans". My kids made fun of me for so long and now who's laughing!! 😂😂
Fashion Wizardry Omgoodness my most wanted video I had no idea that this can fix a low or mid rise jean into a high waist jean thanks I love it I didn't want my favourite pair of jean to go waste now I love the fabrics and fit but I hate when its loose on the butt while sitting down or walking too much Thank you 🙏🙏❤️
The back with the different stitching looks so bad though..
H N so true. It was a shoddy job
Yes there horrible🤨
i think that could be solved by leaving more fabric on one side, folding it over and sewing over it, so it looks similar to the original seam. and also it's worth changing the zipper to a longer one (or just lenghtening that part to look like a longer zipper), it makes the crotch area look better :D
I tried this method and it works just sew the seam on good way and take your time
I seam ripped the entire back part and resewed it so it would all be the same stitching and this ended up looking good as well :)
Turn a pair of very low waist Levi's into super high waisted Jean ! Amazing I'm so happy, and it was so easy ! Thanks !!!
I have got so many low waisted jeans which don't look flattering on me, I am going to try this transformation 💃💃💃 thank you.
You’re welcome 😊❤️
Does this make the jeans tighter?
I'm confused...would this not make the jeans tighter now? seeing as you cut out a piece of fabric from front & back & then make a new seam??
Bless you and your channel! Love a refashion, creative queen! 🙌🏽
😁😁❤️❤️
Love this so much! You also have a very nice voice to listen to when im multi tasking
can i use this on thick demin material mom jeans?
Thank you so much for this tutorial ❤ Your teaching style is very thorough and encouraging too 😊 This is going to help me so much with these cute jeans I just bought!
