I 've just worked thru all your videos on you tube from as far back as I can get; I feel I could fault find and repair just about any boiler now! By the way, that half stone half brick house at the start of your video must have the most unreliable system in Britain, because you visit it every week! I must say find your output very interesting and informative, the only trouble is now I can't watch several episodes each night, but will have to wait a week for each one to be released. Your work ethic and workmanship are first class!.

In Italy all of the valves are with hex key and the cap like the one you showed. I mean those one for the return. Because we pipe return at the bottom of the rad an flow at the top

Good evening Pete, please i been spinning my head around the rad bracket installation and i still cnt get it even though i used to be quite good in math. If the C/l of valve to end of rad is 25mm that mean the end of the rad is 25mm below the laser line and end of bracket to end of rad is 15mm so from the end of the rad which is 25mm below the laser line i go up 15mm that will be the end of the bracket so the bracket is still 10mm below the central line and not 10mm above.?
I would be very thankful if u can clarify that abit more , (frankly i would be lucky is you even had the chance to read it with almost a 100+ comments?
Again very great video as usual,

Hey PB have you tried the Schneider Wiser controls? Support is great and for a one off £14.99 you can link it to your smart meter to see consumption related to heat etc. Also lets you mix electric, UFH and conventional heat with the same controls.

If we do a boiler maintenance here in the Netherlands, we must always remove the hood when measuring the flue gases. But great videos as always ! And there are really some differences how our boilers, piping , maintenance and rads are . Great to see! some tricks are quite useful too!

  • @onewheelnut

Great content again. I also always test boiler cover on with probe in left hand sample point to check for co in outer flue due to faulty inner flue seals or badly fitted plume kits. Flue seals and problems with plume kits are very common.

I've just had exactly the same issue with one of my customers regarding nest. Boxt swapped it in this instance, and the only reason I know is that she's called for a boiler service. Approximately 30% of all the nests I've fitted have failed over time, so I will never fit one again through choice. To add to that, I will now only install products where the companies actually care about the installer.

  • @tphvac87

I find the differences in the UK and the states absolutely fascinating e.g. wall hung radiators (over here we have baseboard or cast iron radiators or even we have “fan coils” meaning you have a fan blowing over a coil full of hot water coming from a boiler, also called hydro-air) but I absolutely love forced hot water as opposed to forced hot air; which I believe creates dryer air and there is a need for humidifiers in those type of systems. Good job mate keep up the great content!!!

Hmmm. I won't be fitting any more Nests then. Boxt.... What's it all come too? Our industry is about building relationships with customers (apart from the odd one!). I would never price a job without meeting the customer and certainly not from photos. Boxt are just undermining us, making installs as cheap as they can be and the standard of workmaship suffers as a result. It's just not right.

The only way to get at boxt is to boycott worcester! Worcester own a big percentage of boxt and the guys who only fit worcester boiler are the ones that are being shafted the most. With boiler hard to get hold of at the moment and the merchants unable to supply boxt are still getting boiler ready to fit the next day and under cutting us in the process. I’m a big fan of nest but if they push to have boxt I will boycott them as well!!
