The Biggest Cottonwood Log We've Ever Seen

What we did know was how it was the biggest cottonwood log we’d ever seen. However, we didn’t know if the grain was of the same caliber as its legendary size. When salvaging trees, you never know what the grain will look like until the first cut. When milling it, this is often the first glimpse of the log's potential for the dozens of craftsmen that will be working on the material. #liveedgeslab #milling #cottonwood

I have 200 year old cottonwoods all around me. I’ve never seen burl like that. I, too, have always thought cottonwood is too soft for table tops, kitchen island tops … maybe I’ve been proven wrong.
