my top five books: - the almanack of naval ravikant - don't believe everything you think - the one thing by gary keller - the magic of thinking big - discipline is destiny
My top 3 books, all of which I have read multiple times in full length and each of which are incredibly inspiring in their own way. I wouldn‘t recommend short form of these. It takes the whole book to actually get the message in my opinion. - The comfort crisis by Michael Easter. This is my favorite book ever. Fun to read and super motivating to work on yourself. If you are looking for motivation and a guide to finally put your phone aside and deal with yourself, your mental and physical health. - How to win friends by Dale Carnegie. An old book that is still valid today. It makes you question your behavior towards other people and shows how far you can get with simply being kind - How to get things done by David Allen. A concept to finally clear up your head, bring structure into all the little tasks of life that subconsciously stress you. I can highly recommend all of these books. They have changed my life and have made a big contribution to my professional success and mental health. Hopefully they will help someone else too.
"Down and Out in Paris and London" always a good reminder of how lucky you are to have a hot meal and a warm bed to get into incase your sense of perspective needs recalibrating.
Top 5: - Outliers, Malcolm Gladwell - Deep Work, Cal Newport - Think Again, Adam Grant - 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, Stephen Covey - David & Goliath, Malcolm Gladwell
Oh I am definitely a physical book guy. But the way you talked about your notes and highlights actually made me re think about retrying the kindle. Thanks for sharing. You listed a ton of books! It would be great to have a the whole list in the description.
My top five books of all the time are: - 'Slight Edge' by Jeff Olson - 'Anathem' by Neal Stephenson - 'Diamond Age' by Neal Stephenson - 'Lady of the Lake' by Andrzej Sapkowski (this is fifth volume of 'The Witcher' series) - 'How to make friends and influence people' by Dale Carnegie
1. The Magic of Recluce by L. E. Modesitt Jr. -- you need to read the whole series. 2. Tuesday's With Morrie by Mitch Albom -- and anything else he has written. 3. State Of Fear by Michael Crichton -- entertaining and maybe educational. 4. Memory Man by David Baldacci -- main character is named Decker. 5. The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry -- Cotton Malone series.

I'm fairly new to reading but it's definitely something I want to invest more time into. Got myself a kindle which was worth 100% of the price. Figured out I don't need a subscription as I can easily upload books using my laptop or kindle app on my phone. I'm definitely guilty of feeling the obligation to finish the entire book, your tip helped me see it differently. Might explore the idea of taking notes, but I gotta figure out the whole "obsidian" thing first. My reading list is growing slowly, and I'm adding some quality stuff there, I just need to focus on actually reading :)
I take notes on almost all of your videos. Thank you so much for the valuable content! I've added all the books mentioned here to my wishlist. Red Rising and Musashi, in particular, are new to me and I'm excited to check them out. Here are my top 5 favorite books: The One Thing 48 Laws of Power How to Win Friends and Influence People The Alchemist Anything by Grant Cardone
Thanks for sharing this! I haven't read The Alchemist or Anything. Will add it. Oh and Musashi is one of my fav books of all time. Especially in audiobook form.
I vividly remember being on watch as a 20-something in the Navy and reading "First Things First" while sitting on a tug in the hangar at 2 a.m. It's been an anchor for me. This year, Essentialism by Greg McKeown has been my theme. My other top three: Think and Grow Rich (this is more about focus than being money-rich) What Technology Wants Cryptonomicon (Had to throw a fiction in here)

Top 5 books that changed the way I see everything 1 - Holy Bible 2 - Crime and Punishment - Fiodor Dostoievski 3 - Lord of the Rings - Tolkien 4 - Foundation Trilogy - Asimov 5 - Mere Christiany - CS Lewis Plus: The Great Divorce book as you showed, it's an awesome book. I will look up the audible version.
I can't think about five books but here are my favorite authors : Alexandre Dumas, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Chuck Palahniuk. You can pick their best-sellers, they have many.
The top two books I've read so far are: Lord of the rings (and related tolkien books about middle earth like The simlarillion and the hobbit) and the seven habits of highly effective people. Hopefully I'll read more often after this video, cause I like reading but it's not a habbit yet.

Hello Travis, what about these: Ask Your Developer: How to Harness the Power of Software Developers and Win in the 21st Century, Relatos cortos para entender la programación, and The Art of Business Software? have you read those? On the other hand, what kind of camera do you use to record your videos? Best Regards!
Read what’s valuable, some much money and time are wasted by book readers preaching this crap while reading drivel, reading the hunger games won’t help you anymore then listening to a podcast
Good tips. But "blindly trust your doctor" is a strange perspective. You have a robust health team you can talk to if your primary doesn't have the specializations you need. But professionals are professionals for a reason. You can't be good at everything. Most of us can't spend 8 years studying medicine on top of other proficiencies.
why does it have to be books and not podcasts, youtube videos, etc? are the same ideas never shared there? and before you say YT is trash, we’re all here on this guy’s youtube video. is his message not it? i’d take books with just as big a grain of salt as any content medium.
Those are good sources too and ones that I also learn a lot from. I'm not comparing them. Though I will say, given the timespan of books, that probably 80% of modern media just repeats what books have always said in some way.
@@doleo_metal hell nah. i’ll listen on 2x speed while doing other things rather than sacrificing time each day to process more words with my eyes than i already have to.

Ok but how can you get a job without any specific formal education. Not real for most people. You just create a content for watching this stuff.. some young people get it idea for some time
Errrm. I love to read... But it's really not cool when readers are arrogant about it and declare a supremacy over people who don't. Not cool. Gonna unsubscribe

You (or most people) can read WAY faster than the words can be spoken. So it should be obvious that it's more efficient.
