I just found a 1982 issue of Hustler magazine that had interviewed Mike Muir when he was just forming this band. He was "Mike Suicide" at that point, and kicked the shit out of people for fun, a total thug! Gotta love that first album though, classic!
I'll never forget seeing these guys in St. Louis back in the 80s. the bullet hole in the plate glass window at the front of the place was a nice touch :)
i'm not sure who's saying that but i definitely heard from people who were there at l.a. shows, especially mid to late 80s were pretty damn violent and scary with all the punk gangs (suicidals, lads, skins, lmp, etc etc etc).
@TheVicious Obviously this song wasn't fast, but pretty much everything else on the album was. This was like the one pop song just for fun amongst all of the hardcore.
Solo beginning at 3:30 is awesome. Dude can shred like a virtuoso. Somebody said he's Rocky George. Not sure. I thought it was Louiche Mayorga since it's early (1984). Does anyone know?
he was up on stage with Mike after 13 years just a while ago at an Infectious Grooves gig in paris...the old school line up should reunite for a tour! let's skate!
you know, i always wonderd where the people that attended these concerts are at now?, i would love to ask them a million questions of their experience.
You know, it is pretty amazing that MTV once put this in heavy rotation and the guys had several gold records afterward. Is that punk? I dunno, I like them, and maybe they punk'd MTV. Times change. Today, theres so many other avenues to reach people with music. One thing that stays the same is- whatever MTV plays, will go gold. Is that good or bad? Is punk dead because it isn't co-opted and sold to kids any more by major corporations?
@nomadmalachi There are actually a lot of people who like both bands, myself included. Interestingly enough, Green Day only came out six years after these guys.
I remember in jr high ....or highschool........kids would recite this to other kids.........the kids got pissed off becuz they thought the doosh bags were talking about there momz lol.........
most ppl there are 50 by now but for sure all of them are above 40 years old! they were ruthless back then... but nowdays... ppl are... how can I put this.... gentle f**s... well fuck nowdays
@mickelboy182 St. Anger?! Kill Em All is one of their best. And Master of Puppets. The 80's had some of the best music (barring hair bands and Duran Duran shit)
Yeah i understand that and i agree completely. But he wasn't saying what you just said where kids who want to be part of a clique no nothing or all the poser fucks know nothing. he was saying if your not born in the 80's you don't know shit about 80's punk. But i know what you mean and i agree to the highest level. Oh also in my opinion Kill 'Em All was the best album haha
@nomadmalachi Yes because we all know disliking this video automatically means you like Green Day and MTV. Can't just be that they don't like this specific video right.
@sanwan06 Wow, you're vastly intelligent... thank you for your brilliant insight. I look forward to reading your piece on sexual relations in the upcoming Wall Street Journal. You must make mom and dad proud.
@BlakeTheVampire well i understand what your saying, but some music is just too awsome not to be wind up in the mainstream, although it is stupid when i see 13 somthings trying to dress punk but they know not one punk song
Hahaha yeah that sounds pretty familiar. Me and my buddies trying to top eachothers insults with the most fucked up shit we could possibly say. It ain't like that anymore, theres a lot of animosity now when that kinda shit happens. Fuckin sucks, nothin like those times. Better music too.
This band brings happiness to me. They do not have one bad song. I have been a fan since the 80s.
Such an oldschool...this band represents everything that 80s were.
Yeah, its Jon Nelson in 1984
The venue is Perkins Palace in Pasadena, California.
This is where they got the live footage Mike watches for like two seconds in the Institutionalized video.

i'm not sure who's saying that but i definitely heard from people who were there at l.a. shows, especially mid to late 80s were pretty damn violent and scary with all the punk gangs (suicidals, lads, skins, lmp, etc etc etc).
Thank you for this vid... it's good to see the classics in their original form!
Nice to see at least one band won't sell out and still kicks ass. Letting the crowd come on stage like that,,,,,,, Great
@misskill3r There crossover thrash. They do both.
that girl band L7 ripped the main riff from this so bad
this is great ST for life
@TheVicious Obviously this song wasn't fast, but pretty much everything else on the album was. This was like the one pop song just for fun amongst all of the hardcore.
this is about the time i would have seen them play in HBG, pa
@sss10627 Mike Ball was out of the band by 82. This is Jon Nelson from The Brood playing.
Solo beginning at 3:30 is awesome. Dude can shred like a virtuoso. Somebody said he's Rocky George. Not sure. I thought it was Louiche Mayorga since it's early (1984). Does anyone know?
Jon Nelson
I remember reading about that incident, I think it was the song "I shot Reagan", which happened within a year of John Hinkley Jr. shooting ol' Ronnie!
punk, hardcore who knows S.T,was in a class by themselves
Favorite S.T song, it's rad:).

Could be Jon Nelson, Grant Estes was out in 83 after their 1st LP was done.
What a great guitarist! Check him playing with his teeth at 4:02! Blues shredder!
That's Jon Nelson on guitar, check out his you tube channel DeederDeets
A fucking pre-roll ad for a Suicidal Tendencies video? The irony is palpable.
i like the part when he says I SAW YOUR MOMMY
Love the onstage moshpit
who cares which is their style, its the message deep inside and Mike's intention that matters, long live the ST! :) X ST X FOR LIFE X

@asfanmod88 actually they arent punk but a branch of it. They take from punk and pop influences.
@sss10627 Nope, it's Jon Nelson. Look him up, he plays his guitar with his teeth.
@nomadmalachi There are actually a lot of people who like both bands, myself included. Interestingly enough, Green Day only came out six years after these guys.
@cannonmouse I'd say it has some life left because of the new ways people can find music.
@basskick10 Damn, i just spit soda on the laptop at that! Now that's funny!
