Sir, a working man can’t afford that and your customer base certainly isn’t going to use ANY of the features that you’ve done to make that a working mans truck! Having said that you’ve done a tremendous job on it! Looks fantastic!
I have been a Power wagon fan forever currently have 4 in my collection 1948, 1957, 1966,1968, was at your shop a few years back , love what you have done, keep up the great work
The enthusiasm you show for your work product is SO appreciated and respected. From that enthusiasm comes all things good. I have a build scheduled with you for a truck that will, indeed, be put to work, and I look forward to both the process and the outcome.
That’s beast and beautiful truck. I’m so happy and honored be part of this family 🎉. I have a 2021 power wagon…. I really love it. Just drink toooooo much gas… but it’s worth it.
Contradiction in terms, first breath " This is a 4 hundred thousand dollar truck" Next breath describing the interior layout "This is a working man's truck“ Haha $400,000 Working man's truck! Actually it's a rich guys truck to give the illusion he is a working man!
My dad owned a 1948 Dodge PW. I can remember as a very young boy playing on it like it was my own jungle gym. I used to sit behind the drivers side headlamp with my legs stradelling on either side of the lamp and my little hands would slide over the teardrop lamps like it was my steering wheel. Dad's 48 had the power take off winch and he had a homemade snow plow attached to it for the heavy winters in Denver CO and Carson City NV. I was about 9 when Dad sold the truck so he could buy a 1973 Dodge PW Camper Special. The newer truck had the 360 cid engine, an 8,000 WARN winch, and Meyers snowplow. Dad put the new rig to heavy snowplow duty when we lived at Stateline NV at South Lake Tahoe in 1973.
We called that "Granny Gear" in the old '49 Ford F1 we used on my grandparents farm. It worked well when you were doing fencing. Load up the back end with fence posts, put in "super low or granny gear" and walk beside it, pulling posts out as you went.
Things have changed! The original Power Wagon cost $1,627 in 1946. A bit less than the Toyo 40x13.50r17 tires at $2,692 for the set. 🥴 Funny how the interior switches are described "for the working man" , yeah right. The guy that can afford a $400,000 toy truck is not exactly a blue collar worker doing his shift.
You can learn everything you need to build something like this, just takes time and a lot of money but go for it, you never no what you can do till you start
Those are beautiful trucks... I want one.... unfortunately so does everyone else apparently, and I don’t have the money they do. But some day, I will run across one of these trucks sitting out in a field somewhere, but it,and fix it up. I don’t have the skill set to make it as pretty as these, but I can dang sure make it function as well. I figure that would be the motivation I needed to learn paint and body, and trim and upholstery work.
Beautiful truck. Good solid engineering. I would imagine that the compound turbo installation is a great deal cleaner than a single big turbo, due to the elimination of unburnt fuel discharge in the form of soot, as you press the accelerator.
Awesome truck I used to have a 1957 Power Wagon 1/2 ton step side short bed, 315 v8 3 on the tree. After I solt it I found out there was only 600 made ade mine was in great shape
I got pulled out of the mud by a Power Wagon on a logging road back in the 1970’s. I got my 68 Chev 2 wheel drive pickup stuck while grouse hunting. My friends hiked into a nearby town, and found a guy with PowerWagon. My only experience with the old original.
Lets see a video on a 1st Gen Dodge Cummins!! 1993 Dually. I want to hear what you think of those trucks and their future in the classic truck world. Truly think you should start adding them to your prospective builds. Would love to help and be a part of it.
$400k... hope it comes with bumper to bumper lifetime maintenance. Seems to me that it's just a Jackson Hole millionaire's garage queen. Cool truck though, thanks for the walk thru.
Winslow, the hair is looking good. Another great truck but how does it cost so much? $400K, I would love to see the spec sheet to see where it all goes. Please keep these videos coming. You have so many stories sitting on your ground.
@@georgea.9684 Yup I must agree those wheels would be better suited to a more younger vehicle, the wheel would be nice to be more period correct Or to simulate a period wheel, Same for me inside the cab, all those plastic rocker switches and led lighting Yuk! Steel toggle switches with a separate, "On" indicator light accompanied with tungsten bulb lighting, is more the flavour of the period
I’m confused? He says I don’t know about you but I can’t afford a $400,000 truck but I looked on there website and this model with the ext cab and corner windows starts off at $360,000?? It just doesn’t make sense that he himself is not comfortable with paying that much for a truck yet that’s what he charges and he also talk’s about this being a working man’s truck, don’t know of any hard working man that can afford a $400,000 truck…..
Jeremy, thanks for watching. Yes these start at 360K and go up from there. It's a massive amount of work. 300 hours of chassis fab, 800 coachbuilding, 800 body, 100 paint, 100 reassembly, 320 final assembly, interior, and about 150K or more in parts. These things are awesome, I just can't afford one. If I could, I would be all over it. For now, I will keep driving my original one! Flatheads forever!
Nice guy, great truck , but Im missing something here. "Working man's truck and almost every part can be sourced at your local auto parts store"... How does this translate to 400k? Owner builder has a right to charge whatever he wants , but how does he come up with this price,?it makes no sense and it contributes to the detriment of the car hobby. Maybe its rare?
Very nice truck very nice truck I’m sure somebody out there will buy it but anyway I had a 1971 power wagon 318 automatic 410 gears and I wanna tell you right now that was Juan hell of a truck now I know you can’t compete with today’s pick up trucks Cu pick up trucks are way heavier duty but back in the day where I lived the private road we lit the on some is 710 long this is up in northwestern Pennsylvania in the man County anyway oh Kennerdell specifically but anyway are we from used to plow that road and a truck held up real well one of the key things to any vehicle I don’t care what it is don’t drive it like you see in the commercials on TV that’s what makes them last all right I’m not talking about abusing it I’m talking about drive it like your grandpa’s drive anyway it’s Jim mungai From Kennerdell Pennsylvania
I don't have the skills to do this kind of restoration nor the money. However, if I did I would not build that. Don't get me wrong, I love the truck as is. It's just not for me. I like raw, rugged, power and ignore comfort, scratches and dents. Yes, you can set your beer on the hood and, no, you don't need a coaster.
Though this is a sweet sweet truck, I agree not much is original. At what point do you say this was inspired by a Power Wagon, rather than this IS a power wagon!
That 4BT isn’t gonna last more than 150,000 miles pushed to 250hp and 600 lb/ft like that. They’re not a well balanced engine like the 6B is and even a 6B at 450 horse and 800 torque isn’t going to be a super long living engine, even getting 200k miles is wishful thinking.
Lmao yeah a “working man’s truck” at $400K. Sorry, most of the Power Wagon had been replaced. It’s a rich man’s conversation piece he parks in his 12 car garage next to his Ferrari. A new Ram has more HP and torque and at less than 1/4 the cost. So it’s not an original and it’s not better than the current Ram so….
I always hate to see a solid old vehicle with some POS modern, fuel injected engine crammed under the hood. All those modern looking switches destroy the classic look of the dash, too. Also, modern wheels are ugly as sin. Not a fan of this abomination.
I count far more comments to the negative. I’m also not a fan of this. It’s shamefully modified well beyond the spirit of the original. It’s no longer a Power Wagon. It’s a millionaire’s toy with a grossly inflated value that’s sure to plummet.
Not even gonna watch this. Commenting at 23 second mark. Guy is in foreground, truck in the background and I can tell already it will be too painful to watch. It is as others have said "automobile pornography" just stirring up the lusts. Better not to watch.

thats so sickk. i want a 40's or 50 one really bad, they are bautiful
$400,000.00 , someone lost their mind ! That truck is beautiful and bet it preforms great but for that much it should drive itself !
The enthusiasm you show for your work product is SO appreciated and respected. From that enthusiasm comes all things good. I have a build scheduled with you for a truck that will, indeed, be put to work, and I look forward to both the process and the outcome.
Such a gorgeous truck I’ve always loved these. So sad how expensive they’re getting though

OMG 😯😲🤯!!! This beautiful Dodge is outstanding 😍!!! I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this Power wagon will make your sticker peck out 😁.
I want one! Those trucks drive so nice.... utility box on the back would be my jam! Another great video thx Winslow

My 61 F-100 Ranger 4x4 in 1st gear & the transfer case in 4 low I could do the same. I could walk faster than the truck👍🤣
Awesome truck Winslow. I miss seeing you around town
if i win a lotto today i will be on my way to legacy tomorrow!!amazing built as always👌
I remember when you could buy surplus Power Wagons with low miles for $500. Wish I’d bought one.

Fantastic episode! I only dream of my 1951 Gerstenslager Power Wagon Ambulance to be built with this level of integrity.
What an exciting wagon to drive. My ‘39 1/2 ton is excited too.
Cool new channel... happy to have found it man.Good stuff
I wish I had the skills to be able to build something like this for myself. Such a beautiful rig.

Awesome work on a iconic Truck.

Man. I love those truck’s
Jay Leno’s lift influence. Nice!
Marvellous!
Wonder how the engine held out or if its turbos were just a mess.
Great channel!
So beautiful. Id still live to see one work hard offroad!
The remote oil filter should be pointing straight down. This allows for a full pre-fill of oil before install of new filter.
Awesome.
Looks great other than the Come apart! I'd just as soon have a Cat powered truck.
this truck is awesome
I like this truck!
I like the old M37 military power wagon.
Oh wow I hope I can find a truck just like that one
Love these trucks could you fit the old 12 valve 5.9 Cummins in one?
It's the son of the Dodge WC.
If I ever win a mega lottery I'll get one.. till then I'll just drool and dream
Love this truck. $400,000 though? Yikes.
That sure is a beautiful truck all right. I think the price is extremely excessive but it's a beautiful truck just the same.
in one of your videos, you asked for trucks you'd like to see, I would love a airflow truck
$400k... hope it comes with bumper to bumper lifetime maintenance. Seems to me that it's just a Jackson Hole millionaire's garage queen. Cool truck though, thanks for the walk thru.
I think the Ultimate vehicle would be a Power Wagon like take mated with a Global Expedition Vehicle Turtle XL body
Winslow, the hair is looking good. Another great truck but how does it cost so much? $400K, I would love to see the spec sheet to see where it all goes. Please keep these videos coming. You have so many stories sitting on your ground.
Thanks for watching! I feel a deep sense of responsibility to tell the stories of these trucks and the men who drove them! US History!!
That is not "restored"... that is a restomod. A nice restomod, but a restomod none the less.
this is to die for Truck
And im in love witg those wheels
What Brand and size are they please?
Trail ready bead locks, HD 17, slim ring. They are so true and so strong!!!
Loved the truck and absolutely HATED the wheels. Different strokes and all that I guess…
@@georgea.9684 Yup I must agree those wheels would be better suited to a more younger vehicle, the wheel would be nice to be more period correct

What was that metal thing stuck onto the side of the of the engine compartment on the passenger side?
It’s a Donaldson Air Cleaner
Having all bells and whistles is all good and well,But the average working man can't afford it.
Looks like a lot of pretty common parts to justify 400,000 lol
I kind of wished it was closer to original.
It is more great if you mount a 6 speed manual gear box!
Looks like the cab has been extended
I want one me . If I could afford it . I guess I will just have to dream maybe i will buy a cab and build my own
400,000 that's about 325,000 to much for that truck....Crazy stupid money for that truck...
A nice big toy
I want one !! All I need is 399,000.00

It’s sad that one has to be a multi millionaire to afford a good diesel 4x4 that looks good too.
i love it. it's beautiful, it's mean, it's awesome. but $400,000???? GTFO!
What is model number at 5:56 ?
If you’re wearing your work gloves…..in a 400k truck 😂

Nice, but obviously not built for any real offloading with all that crap underneath. Whats the point of having a huge 4wd Mallcrawler?
Imagine giving someone nearly a half a million dollars to ruin a truck. I feel sorry for the future mechanics who have to fix these chop jobs.
“Working man’s truck”… that costs as much as 3 Ram3500’s fully loaded…
The dodge power wagon the first 4 wheeler 1934 pickup truck in the world that's a fact
400 Grand? That's criminal
That isn’t a power wagon. Grandads only goes about 45 mph… maybe
Beautiful truck but 4 hundred grand? Ya right.
Ripoff price for rich snobs.
400,000 somebody got ripped off and don't know what cars are worth fully rebuilt even with special modifications

Who the F*** puts his truck in low range and gets out to open a gate? 🤣
$400,000 and the air cleaner shakes back and forth while driving because it isn't properly braced. For rich fools only.
if only..........

Though this is a sweet sweet truck, I agree not much is original. At what point do you say this was inspired by a Power Wagon, rather than this IS a power wagon!

$400,000?
Nah, you can keep it.
What could I say
$400,000 worth of truck and they put a Wix oil filter on it.... smh
