    Thanks for the video mate
    Are you still happy with them or are they broken by now, and if so, how long did those last ?
    I purchased both of them today and hope they will serve me well for a couple years at least

    for the cost of this lighter you can buy a box of matches and a nice box of cigars.

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not in nz
      Our tax is 1usd per gram of cigar
      Also a windy day... Fuck matches lol

    Hi. Ive got the same lighter. Can u tell me is the clinging noise normal when u shake the lighter? 😅😅😅

    Does S.T. Dupont sell a carrying case for this lighter?

      I think so

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are plenty of leather makers out there that make them though.
      much nicers than dupont leather

    Does the cutter come with a sleeve or case?

    I don't normally go for black/red, but this looks a classy set together. Made in China though, I hear? True?

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it is.
      There are differing qualities though when shit is made in China.
      I can tell you the quality is great.
      But a tad expensive retail

    • @malthus101
      @malthus101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@eatsmokedrink yeah, and I also hear that once the ignition dies.. no repairs possible. That's pretty bad. I would hope it would last 5-10 years but unlikely! Looks good though.

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If i get another few y ears, i am happy, never fails the ignition.
      Also the gas on this is superb, superb economy in gas and efficiency, i had have ebay and xikar, prometheus stuff - just poor quality and really shit gas consumption.

    • @malthus101
      @malthus101 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@eatsmokedrink oh yeah? I only have 2 Colibris. A little basic one that fails often but has never died... and a bigger 3 flame one that's much newer, never failed and not dead but it's miles away in another country right now... so not much use lol

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@malthus101 i would say colibri is not too bad actually out of the lot.
      I would say it is on par with St Duponts in terms of quality, gas economy i found them to be pretty good too.

    • @eatsmokedrink

      If US i suggest ebay, great range and value and competition but they have universal pricing so if you live in asia , dubai, us there are dupont stores

      Unfortunately I don't. If I buy S. T Dupont I want my purchase to be made in France or another European country, not China for instance. The price warrants it.

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigvanvader3122 fair enough. Most dupont I think is French but this cutter may not be. However the quality is good. China can make good quality if you pay the price. As French or Europe can make products that are shit as well.
      This is the best cutter I have used... Like... Literally... Beats a xikar any day, I also own the dupont punch which is fantastic.
      I have used that wooden knife thing forgot the name its all over instagram... It's terrible but looks good though.
      I prefer go vs show
      I bring this to our cigar nights and is heavily used and still performs

    • @bigvanvader3122
      @bigvanvader3122 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the replies. I'll check it out. I've been looking at dupont lighters as well. Would be nice to own both a lighter and cutter from them.

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigvanvader3122 maxi jet I use. Soft flame is impossible lol outdoors it's pointless which is sad I love them. Maxi I have handled a session with 12 cigars incl touch ups. Fires every single time. Also efficient in gas. There are good cutters out there for sure but the dupont feels best.
      But tbh for the price... You can replace xikar every 2 years and it's cheaper. Also xikar had lifetime guarantee.

    Know a safe place to order S.T. Dupont online?

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely.
      If you are in the US, Neptune Cigars - one of my favourite stores there. They actually ship globally and probably one of the best selections of premium sticks I have seen.
      Neptune cigars are pretty good with shipping costs actually especially for such a small item.

    What butane do you use for the lighter

    • @eatsmokedrink
      @eatsmokedrink  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      newport butane, Our butane here in NZ is very good but some say you should use Dupont, as long as your butane is good quality, there is no difference to dupont butane in my opinion to good quality lighter gas.
