It beggars belief whoever put this together omitted one of the most signifiant 'independences' of the 20th Cent, a Nation that had fought longer than any other for its independence, (800 years!) IRELAND...from the UK, in 1921, - and for the UK it was perhaps the most significant as it led to the end of that so called empire. As others have said below, this could have been an interesting video if you - or whoever - had done some basic fact checking!

It became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801 when Ireland officially joined the union and became the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in 1922 when most of Ireland left. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is the UK that exists today.
