Imagine Mortimer just watching Nick Nack and Daisy teaming up to get some sort of vengeance on Riley (nothing fatal, because honestly I don't think Mortimer would like that). Just the chaos of it all.

Yes a human body can only last so long so that's why they start keeping all these bodies like cattle in the first game because they need to keep themselves alive. They need continuous life force
Regardless of what happens in this game, Owen Gubberson ends up dying, the puppets (most of 'em anyways) ends up surviving, and a LOT of people become cattle for these demented puppets. Still, it _is_ highly fascinating to see how it all went down. I wonder if in the final segment, we'll actually make some of the recordings that the character of the first game later finds.
Riley's whistling is kind of creepy. 35:10 since it was poetry I believe you were supposed to snap your fingers. Also Knick Knack reminds me of a psychotic puppet version of Papyrus
Knick Knack's mechanic is very interesting with the stage, and it took me a minute to figure it out. In our own world, the polite response to applaud a poetry reading is snapping, not clapping. So it looks like the button you press is the one that's appropriate to each kind of performance, a very nice touch! Really enjoying this, thank you for sharing it with us!
Love the Devs using dream warriors being in theaters to give the year this takes place! Clever little nod with it seeming the puppets get in their hosts heads like freddy does with dreams, wonder if there’s any more connection in themes
Let me tell you a few details about Dream Warriors: •The main characters try to kill Freddy by destroying all of his remains •Their is a puppet scene in the movie that ends with teenager dropping to his death. • The end indicates the Freddy is not dead.
I think nick nack's stage reaction minigame depends on what type of performance it is, for example, you clap when it's a dance, snap when it's poetry, and laugh when it's comedy. Edit: i was supposed to add this edit saying "oh nvm he already got it" or something but i somehow accidently deleted the original and had to re-type this comment.
Don't they cut off the hand to attach the puppets to them? It could be blood loss as well, leading to death. But they would need a constant supply of ppl if that's the case

The sad thing about horror prequels is that no matter what, you will always know that the ending is gonna be bad Because if the ending is good , why would the main game even exist
A good ending would be a sacrifice one where Owen tried to burn the place down to stop them and save people. Mabey it could hint at knick knack being a turncoat to Mortimer after that and that is why he was out of site in the 1st game. Maby it could set up the next game being knick knack setting out to finish his father's job.
I hope there ends up being a Hello Puppets 3 that is a sequel to 1 where you can end the puppet's madness and save whoever you can, even if it's just one person it would make the ending of the series just a little less bleak.
To be honest, it would be interesting to play as a guy who _knows_ what to do in this sort of situation. Like if you're part of the FBI's paranormal department or something, and the local department office sent you to investigate because the mysterious deaths are getting too worrying. Towards the end of the game, you call in for a 'combat team' for backup, turning the final showdown into a major throwdown between you and your reinforcements and the puppets...

Perhaps the spell allows them to have a sort of… connection with the book that allows them to read it? I’d have to double check what language the book is in but maybe it’s in the same language the puppets use to read/write in during the first game.

I think for Nick Nack’s performance, you need to select the correct reaction towards his play. For that poetry one, you needed to snap. The button on the far left is probably when he does a comedy routine. The clapping one I’m not too sure, but perhaps it is for the last one.
Owen being evil and being the reason the puppets are corruot makes sense seeing how he stumbled across the bound bodies of his staff through the Riley level and made no attempt to free them or even comment out it
Since it's poetry, snapping is the appropriate response because it's a mood sort of deal. Clapping is an exciting sort of reaction for a good performance. Laughing is a comedy reaction because it meant to make people laugh. You snap for poetry because its a calm way of showing support for someone's writing that comes from their own heart. I say this as someone who comes from a lot of theater groups in different types of performances so im just really use to it, so it's understandable not to understand that at first if you're not usually involved in that area of performance.

I don't know If you saw it too. But the picture of the artist puppet looks different of the first one we see at the end of the first level. So that means farther we go, more distorted the puppets will become.
I actually really like NickNacks little performance response minigame. The reason why he got mad at you after the first performance is because you’re actually not supposed to clap to show appreciation for poetry. If you‘ve ever been to a jazz club or place where people perform poetry you’ll know that the people there will instead of clapping snap their fingers after a poetry recital. So yeah you’re supposed to laugh at his jokes Clap after his dance performance And snap your fingers after his poetry recital
