Awesome info! Ive got the same battery on order. You'll get the hang of Torp settings, give your self some time😊 I'm getting some (stock) motor over heating on high kw settings, but that is only in really fast, slick and hilly terrain. Like you said, in all trail and fun riding, the kw is gonna be set lower. Looking forward to the next video!
You'll love it! Haven't ran into any heat issues yet but the terrain I ride is not very "wide open" so its usually lower in the RPM's - Last piece of the puzzle is the Torp motor! Thanks for watching!
@zekd keep up the info, it really helps to hear your perspective and be on the journey. 100%! I'm on a waiting list with Torp for the UB TM25 as soon as they release it✊️
@zekd hey mate, I'm seeing conficting info, can you help? Is the percentage of the battery visible, via Stock display (or the Torp display if you have one) while riding? Cheers👍
@@gavindobson6077 I don't have the Torp display. Battery percentage still shows on the stock UB display. I have noticed that when you get lower in the battery percentage, the stock display shows a lower percentage than the Torp app. Not sure why. When i'm getting really low, I'll start to reference the Torp app for percentage, rather than the stock UB display.
Just subbed -got a torp on my UB it's damn nice, but had a few glitches -may be time for a new battery. I only have two modes though -Sport or Eco -no drive mode.
Ive been considering going the Torp route, cant wait to see a tune vid on yours. The fit and finish of that battery should be spot on for the price. Thats a bummer that the fit is just meh....which could lead to problems down the line...
Ive been think about just upgrading the battery for more range, then selling the atock battery. If I could sell the stock battery and charger for $2k it wouldn't be such a bad deal. I hear this battery works with stock controller.
I hear it does too. I'm going to hold onto my stock battery/controller and charger. When the time comes to upgrade bikes, I'd like to be able to revert it back to stock and sell those aftermarket parts separately. It will be hard to get that money back if you sell the upgrades with the bike.
Surron writes that it is important to put in the smaller plug in the battery first. Is that not important anymore as you have another controller and battery?
Not sure TBH. I was under the impression that the communications cable is the first thing to unplug, then the power cable, and then when reinstalling, power first then communications cable. Been doing it that way and never had an issue.
@zekd, congrats on the upgrade(s) and thank for sharing your experience with us! Do you have any plans to upgrade your suspension (or have you done this already)?
Thanks! Appreciate it. I do plan on upgrading the suspension. Not sure with what yet. I'd like to figure out how to put some KTM 85 air forks on the front.
Hi havnt watched full video yet, and I know the bike is sick with it fully upgraded but wouldnt it just be more worth it to get a stark varg? you're gonna have more money spent on this thing than a stark varg which would be better in every way possible.
That is a common question I get asked. I have not ridden a Varg yet but my initial opinion would be that for the fast flowy single track and MX the Varg is an absolute animal. For the type of terrain I ride and my skill level, the Ultra Bee is a different beast. It allows me to easily maneuver it through the gnarly stuff and explore sketchy terrain without worrying about getting the bike stuck. I don’t think it’s a fair to compare the Varg to an Ultra Bee, they are in separate bike classes and suit a different type of terrain.
@@zekdI own a heavily modified Ultra Bee, upgraded Talaria mx4 and a Stark . I bought the Stark simply because this was a common question people asked me. You’re absolutely correct the Ultra Bee is a trail weapon and it’s not fair to compare the two bikes. Stark is a monster but on some flowing tight single track I’m choosing my Ultra Bee every time. Same way I wouldn’t take my Ultra to the MX track either.
@@zekd i guess thats fair but I dont think they are far apart, varg is full size but the ultra isnt thaat far from the varg. I also think learning on the varg would be just as fun. but ofcourse it doesnt matter what you spend your money on as long as you enjoy it!
To be fair, I have not ridden a Stark. Going off paper, I would prefer the Ultra Bee for the type of terrain I ride. A Stark would be a big bike to explore technical terrain with my skill level. Ultra Bee is about 60lbs lighter so much easier to mess around in the woods with. I’m going to try and get my hands on a Stark soon, so more to come on that. It would be an animal on the fast flowy single track.
Ultra is 6500 and battery is 3,800, but all the other mods add up quick to your point. My Ultra is $10.5k after everything. It’s a very capable and light trail bike that can do 50 miles of trail. I also race 1.5-2hr hare scrambles with it and it does well. The electric is better TH-camr has won a couple hare scrambles on his

This is pretty fkn sad... I just rode 40+ miles at my local ohv Park on a stock eride with over 6k of elevation gain and loss and still had 11% battery when i got back to the truck. Yet you spend 10k and all you hope for is 40 miles? 😂
How's your bike set up? 18/21? Moto tires? Rider weight? So many variables go into the range on these bikes. I'm a heavier rider so that crushes my range.
6 หลายเดือนก่อน
@@zekd you're right there are a ton of variables so I guess it really depends on your riding style and your riding area! It was a 70-80 degree day. 16\19 setup with mx34s. Mostly rocky dirt single track average speed 12mph. It was 3k up and on the 3k down I practically didn't use any throttle and had regen on setting 2. Now if I'm banging flat lander double track then I'm only getting 30+ miles at those sort of speeds. I just really thought that a battery as big as yours would increase your mileage a lot more than 40 miles but you made a good point about variables.
The only reason I’m not buying another battery right now is because of how cheap the covers are😂 And go get yourself some foam sliders for the bottom of couches for hardwood floors they won’t scratch your battery and they’ll tighten things up put them on places in the frame and underneath the cover so when you latch it, it has more tension
Phase amps is like torque, increasing field weakening will give you higher top end but check what % is safe for your motor . Usually 40-60 is good.
I’ve maxed out my sport mode settings. Field weakening is the last thing I need to try. I suspect it’s going to be INSANE!
@@zekddon’t forget over 100a on field weakening
I though DC amps is torque and phase amps is speed
