As Jonny & Jenny's mother was dying from cancer, Jenny turned to drugs to cope. That's what the lines "See your mother here, Her last painful year, I wish you only knew, She stuck around for you" mean. Their mom tried to hang on to make sure Jenny recovered. The followup song to this is "God Went North." 💙 from Texas!

This song was written about Jenny, the aunt of lead vocalist Jonny Hawkins, and Jenna, his sister. Jenny suffers from schizophrenia while Jenna has bipolar disorder.

I spent 12 yrs addicted to pain pills and heroin... Ive been clean for 8 yrs now, but I caused so much damage to my family and I lost a very good job, my wife and my son. I first heard this song a few years ago and it had me crying like a baby the whole way through..such a good song and the way i related to it was crazy. Just saying, this is such a good song.
