Our first look at Lucid's Sapphire performance EV

- Lucid has a mission: to take on the German luxury brands. Those automakers all have their own performance sub-brands, so Lucid now does. At the annual Monterey Car Week festivities, Lucid unveiled its Sapphire performance brand. As expected, the Air was the first to get the high-powered treatment. The Lucid Air Sapphire has 1,200 horsepower and will do zero to 60 in under two seconds.
It’s more than just throwing another motor in the back for a tri-motor system. The automaker also enhanced the suspension, added some aero bits, and unveiled a new sport mode called Sapphire. With a starting price of $249,000, it’s not for everyone, but if you’re interested, the automaker will start deliveries in 2023.

Sapphire looks much better than the other Lucid models imo. More aggressive and appealing.

The Lucid Air is a great looking car. Saw one dropping a lady off at Cracker Barrel of all places. It looks really good in person.
I saw my first Lucid on the road yesterday. It was remarkable! I just had to pull up next to it (no easy task) so that I could identify it! LUCID? What an unusual name...what an unusual look! All of a sudden, I have a new Lottery Dream Car!
I think for me personally, this is absolutely the best looking EV Ive seen, Internally/Ext. Couple of points, I'm so glad you didn't just throw in another tablet vertical display screwed to the dash above centre console, as a Driver, Designer, and Business Owner, we want out dash screen to be the info/performance screen, for design, usability and aesthetics reasons and it doesn't look like just another bolt on tablet. The body design and colour looks great and performance is off the planet, even though I wouldn't use all of it, it's there inside if needed, just like knowledge. Top Marks, Well done Lucid. I think you have no fucking clue about electric mobility.The screen in the middle is necessary for entertainment while charging. Any manufacturer who doesn't get that is a lost cause.Just like you.

I’m not really an E car type of guy by any means…. But man this thing really caught my eye and if I ever had the opportunity it came to that point, this the one I would get. Easily the most appealing looking e car I’ve ever seen.
I'm starting to see Lucid around town and it's a head-turner, to say the least. I can't wait to see this model around town. 😍

I saw a Lucid sedan on the street and took my breath away. Even if I enjoy driving the Tesla
Engadget, Tesla PLAID is 1200 hp, when I had it tested on DYNO it broke the machine, measure @ 1200+ hp actually.

Still dropped before the Roadster....and the cyber truck...and Lucid has range bragging rights. Great to see someone other than a super billionaire making progress in technology so eventually it will trickle down for the masses.
Pre-orders isn't "dropped" homie. The company will have produced less than 2,000 cars total after 1 year of start of production. You think they're going to start producing these? Who's going to order them when they'll get at most a handful of people willing to drop $250k+ on a company that's likely not going to be around in 2024? A company that is so far failing, and hasn't proven itself yet. Lucid is just trying to introduce a new model (with barely any improvements) just to stay in headlines and hope they get bought out by another maker.

I like it...still like this truck too.
So for the price, the outside looks good minus the trunk but you should not want to replace the entire interior at this price point. Good effort I guess but the car does not seem to be priced properly. Maybe $160K at most.... Yes, it has great performance numbers but look at it inside and also look at the trunk. They made it a limited production car so in theory the car should go up in value but not a lot of people will want it because they can get way better. I mean you don't buy a car at that price and look around in it and wonder what you paid that much for. That's just me though.

Why are they going to be keep this blue exclusive to the Sapphire model? I would love to get a regular Lucid Air in this Sapphire Blue! It looks stunning! It reminds me of a blue from a Bentley

It does look good (in my opinion), and it does have some impressive stats...but most of this video was this guy going "look this part is painted blue, and they put a bear logo on this part". Big Fuc&ing deal. More bling for billionaires while the rest of us can barely afford a PHEV (if you are lucky enough to find one in stock).

I am not sure how everyone is saying it looks good. All lucid models look ugly with weird shape (understood it’s for drag coefficient). They are luxurious and Amazing features and all but look wise not so good.
The front's nice, side is OK, but the rear looks like the 1997-2005 Buick Century. Fortunately the Mercedes EQS has a poor a$s too and a front clip from a Honda Civic (though it looks better in the flesh).
