I just need to watch one of your video whenever the devil in my head tells me I should just stay home n snack instead of heading out the door for a run. 😊Never fails to get me going..You are an inspiration to us! Thank you so much for all your videos.
Watched the video this morning, immediately recognized my local hills which motivated me to immediately go out and try the workout. Ended up meeting the legend herself! Great to meet you and big thanks for the motivation to get out today😁
Sally, I find your content really inspiring and refreshing because you're closer to my age and you have kids, like me. Sometimes I tell myself "Be more like Sally McRae" and other times I have to gently remind myself (a beginner runner with a full time desk job) I am not, in fact, Sally McRae 😅. Love your work.
Super impressed with Drew running all those hill reps with a camera. Love the video! I lived out there for 6 years over 10 yrs ago, but I only rode mountain bikes during that time. Loved those trails and now wish I had them to run on since trail running is my favorite. The Crystal Cove trail is beautiful at sunset! Keep putting out the great content.
Thank you for watching! Yes-fun to have Drew running for a few minutes here and there. He also operated the drone(so did not run the whole workout) Those trails are so rad-love all the options and intersections throughout the park! It’s beautiful!!
Nice. I live in London UK but we have friends in Laguna and I've actually run on these trails. It was great! Inspired by this to run more hills. Thanks.
Sally, 🏃♀️Thank you for the positive inspiration 💓☀️ I ran a 50k distance with lots of Challenges over the weekend - I recalled your positive words many many times along the journey 💪
Thank you for saying hill workouts are always humbling. I moved to TN 6 months ago and all my runs are super hilly. I feel much stronger, but they never feel easy. Way to grind. ❤
I love how you share your workouts ! Super new to running at 66 and this really helps me to learn the different types of training that I can do to get better.
Awesome video again Sally! Seeing your videos fires me up every time. I got my second ever half marathon and I feel like I'm getting more excited for it as it's closer. Thanks for sharing your training and your prospective when it comes to training - it is a privilege to work so hard and you are an amazing example of that. Keep choosing strong!
Thanks so much for sharing your training. Training for my first ever trailrun (16km) here in beautiful Switzerland and luckily surrounded by mountains to train on🥰 so motivating to watch your training.
So fun to run with you Sally while I'm on the treadmill!! I lived in Laguna Beach for 7 years and used to run those trails all the time so this brought me back to a happy place, thanks and great work!!
Really love this format of training videos thanks for sharing not many pros wanna give away secrets.. I find these very motivational and also interesting to see what kind of vo2max training for 100 milers
Love that you're candid about your workouts. It helps so many of us :) Thanks for sharing how you train "hills" on a treadmill. I'll have to try it. Also, I looked for the shorts you're wearing on your link and couldn't find them. Can you share?
Currently injured on my ankle, can't wait to get back on the road again. Thanks for making me so excited for when I get back to hit the road/trails again!
Ohhhh love your Canadian mountains 😍😍😍and YES! I’m a big fan of hill work on the treadmill. You can get efficient, consistent climbing for a great workout. This particular trail closes a lot in the winter at the slightest rain so I was very happy it was open!
I’m so excited for you you’re going back to Western I think that’s when I first started watching videos on you. I got the opposite problem of most people anyways I guess you looks like you got a lot of that too but where I live it’s all hills we’re on the foothills of the Appalachian and everything‘s up my trails and my roads and this November I have 100 miler that’s only like 7000 feet total so Been trying to get Work some flatter stuff where I can work on horsefeed but we don’t really have anything so I am actually traveling to run some flatter trails and flatter roads and people laugh. They said that’s the opposite you’re supposed to do should be all good I’m amazed that speed doesn’t come back as quick as I would like it to at my agent, but I don’t mind running a flat hundred I’m enjoying the sessions
Love seeing your workouts. Thanks for sharing the details of how you train! Hills are a focus for me this year so it's good to see how hard you work on them 😵💫. I've got some work to do!
I live in East Idaho where we just got dumped on (by snow) so it's back to the treadmill for me! I'm doing a 12k with a whole lot of climbing involved so I am embracing hill training. I can't wait for spring to get out in the mountains. Nothing better than running in the beautiful mountains!!!!!❤
This was good timing as I have hill intervals on my training plan for tomorrow. Course, living in central FL means flat land so we have to get creative... parking garage ramps and pedestrian bridges for the win! 🤣
Awesomeness!! I’ve come to love hill repeats (yeah, nuts for real🤪) . I find them SOooo beneficial for road running as well as the trails for all the reasons you mentioned. My rationale is if you can bomb up hills, a flat(er) road race feels easier😂
Props to the camera guy for keeping up!!!

Thank you for watching!
Awesome training! We're so lucky that people have worked so hard over the years to preserve this network of parks.

This!!
Learned a lot with your post! 55 yo and just started my journey in trailrunning.
Thanks from Brazil
Oh yes, totally agree with you Sally, "The hills always keep us humble!" - LOVE your video! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
I loooove seeing how the pros train. Thank you for sharing!!!
It's relieving to hear a pro weeze like I do on a hard run. Thank you for keeping it real. Such an inspiration!
I weeze like that no matter the training -even when I lift. I have breathing problems, but so grateful for the gift to run 💪💪

I've been stuck on the treadmill for most of the winter and I can't wait for my local trails to dry so I can do this workout!
Currently injured on my ankle, can't wait to get back on the road again. Thanks for making me so excited for when I get back to hit the road/trails again!
Hey Sally...like you I have trails out my front door but here in Canada sometimes I have snowbanks too so I appreciate your treadmill comments!

Love it❤! Your laugh is great and contagious 😂👍.
Go, Sally, go! You are a BEAST! I love a hill workout, too. It's great seeing personal gains in endurance.
Thank you for putting this out! I'm brand new to the sport and this taught me a lot today. ❤ You're a strong woman and an inspiration.
Appreciate you watching! 🙏
I am so inspired by your channel. Keep posting, please.😊
This was super helpful for my Tahoe 200 training. Or any training. Thank you!
Appreciate you watching!! Let’s go Tahoe 200!!!
How awesome to have such a great environment and trails to train on! Love this ❤

Way to be, Sally. KEEP GOING!!
I ran the Chanoko 50K today. It runs from Auburn to Beals Point. My legs are fried which makes me realize how weak my hill game is. You’re my hero. 👊🏼
Loved this format!
Thank you!
Great work out! Going to add this to my training.
Get after it 💪💪💪💪
I love that you posted this. Great insight and information. Thank you!
Thanks for this vid, Sally, so practical and applicable
This is a great Sally. I use your coaching app and this helps me understand the hill repeats part.
Awesomeness!! I’ve come to love hill repeats (yeah, nuts for real🤪) . I find them SOooo beneficial for road running as well as the trails for all the reasons you mentioned. My rationale is if you can bomb up hills, a flat(er) road race feels easier😂
Awesome workout! Love going up Willow. This first section is so tough.
Loved this video. I built the training plan into my Garmin workouts and am using it today on the perfect hill. Thanks for the motivation!
You’re such an inspiration! Keep up going,
Hey Sally, great training video! Who's your coach? You're amazing! 🏆
Amazing video 👏 i will try it !! you are amazing!!

Used to love doing this stuff on the logging roads in the Pac NW. Now I live in the Houston area where I'm lucky to get 1000' of gain in a year. :(
