Thank you! I was looking for this desperately, it's crazy there are so many clickbait guides and annoying videos about game-breaking builds that have millions of views but a nicely edited lore video like this is really hard to find.

Her sword should be called "conclusions" because she jumps to them constantly.

lol seeing all the possible outcomes of her dialogues really makes one see the sad state of her decision making. Who knows how many people died before her journey to the shadowlands - just because they looked the wrong way at her.

Truth be told, she doesn't give a shit to logic or reasoning, she only wants to kill everyone and uses Miquella as an excuse lol

To be fair though one of her doubts are proven correct with Ansbach turning against her regardless

@@AskwhoQand the Hornsent is very untrustable. So I think what she did was smart, from her point of view.

Leda is probably my favourite npc in the entire game, maybe second to Ansbach only. It's funny to joke how she's absolutely batshit insane, but if you look closely, you'll see it's quite the opposite.
Lady Leda is, as every Miquella follower should be, a kind person. But unfortunately, and even she recognises this, her paranoia and fear overcome the trust and kindness more often than not. To the cull of all the other Needle Knights, to the killing of Hornsent and Sir Ansbach, she can't fathom leaving any loose ends that may cause some sort of trouble in the future, even if the chance is slim.
Other thing people ignore is the fact is she is deeply logical. Even though her suspicions are based more from paranoia than anything, she does consider every possibility and real risks, not just jumping to mindless murder (hence she spared Thiollier)
Her dialogue with Ansbach is also very bittersweet, you can clearly tell they respect and even like eachother, as it is with most of the other members of Miquella's followers. Just a unfortunate case of different perspectives and priorities.
These characteristics are reflected in other lines of her dialogue, such as her comment on Messmer's Crusade, recognising that is in the nature of man to destroy and conquer, the evil that lies within every human being. "But it's still a wretched shame." Suffering is never a good thing after all.
On the other hand, she also sees how man is a good creature at the same time. She does deem foolish your decision to help the Hornsent, and sure enough, no matter how you progress with his quest, you'll have to fell him in battle later on.
But "Man is a compassionate creature, for better or worse" after all.

She feels like the most perfect candidate for Miquella's plot. They want and speak of kindness, but not with a sense of true nature. If you can't be controlled, if you can't be sure to fall in line, if you're a loose end or unpredictable, you must be stopped. It is logical still, but it also still feels in line with the theoretical and rhetoric: We've got "the side of compassion" throwing out love and assassinating companions.
Not to detract from her. I kind of love this NPC too for the way she's designed. She's one big purity check in a philosophical sense, and its always cool to have someeone like her be both the welcome NPC and evolve to be the pre-final boss. Not only that, but its awkward she's kind of in the right in at least her perspective. The Hornsent really was just mad and eventually ended up fighting and dying alone by most paths. If a theory is correct, she was even right to kill her own former knight friends - The Oathskeeper set makes it sound like they left a charmed state to and find some worthy new oath. Maybe a self-test, or maybe they were disloyal, but Leda was consistent to say she wouldn't leave it to chance.

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for, I think you're are the first person that I found that provided the voice lines in such a clear and varied way for elden ring.
I could always find the voice lines for Dark Souls, Armored Core etc. but not really Elden Ring in a clear way at least. It would be nice if you could also do videos for NPCs of the main game after you have done the DLC. But no pressure.

Thank you very much for putting these resources together. It's great to have these dialogues on hand without having to go through the game again.
I really like Leda. She remains composed, polite and honorable even when facing her former comrades in battle. You'd expect her to gloat over their corpses or sneer at them for turning their cloaks but no. A true knight to the last, even if her sword is soaked in blood. Fromsoft really knocked it out of the park with this particular group of NPCs

I like Leda, although distrustful I think that's more of a reflection on miquella's character than anyone elses. She is the natural conclusion of a follower of miquella, who himself seeks ultimate control over even his most loyal allies. She simply does the exact same thing Miquella does, just instead of mind control she only has the power to enact violence. Despite this she is always regretful, she coldly enacts this violence, but the undertone to it all is a true desire for peace.

She's genuinely a frothig sociopath lol her set descriptions reveal that she murdered all the other Needleknights as well, without Miquella's charm she's a constant danger to everyone around her.
The moment his Great Rune shatters, she goes "hahaha, damn, I'm actually kinda paranoid and homocidal, can't wait to fucking kill someone again, I just fucking love killing people so much, haha, wow, crazy right, who do you think I should kill first, the femboy or the minority?"

im a tad bit disappointed how there was no alternative ending, despite the fact that i had big choices to make in therms of deciding who to aid and who to battle. I originally thought that helping leda would lead to somesort of a miquella ending or something after my first blind playthrough. And leading up to the endgame it was difficult the keep playing the miquella route because of the moral dilemmas you had to face. But the outcome merely changes what items you get which was meh. I got some good talismans out of it. But the best items are locked away if you help leda. And since nothing changes story wise. Its kinda pointless

I wonder what happened to the rest of the Needle Knights, presumably Miq took them all with him to the Realm of Shadows since none are present at the Haligtree or the Lands Between as a whole -- All except for Leda, for some reason.
Maybe pre-godhood Miquella didn't particularly like her untrusting nature and thought her unsuitable to take along to a quest for compassion? Or maybe, since she is tarnished, she was off in the badlands and was late to arrive?

    • @NeoJetty
      @NeoJetty  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

You can find the 'Oath Knights Armor Set' just above your Lands of Shadow spawn, which is identical to Leda's Armor except for the cape. Seems like her comrades met an early death here and Leda likes to talk about the crusted blood on her hands. Seems like there is a lot to unpack here.

I think you missed a line of dialogue, during the Ansbach fight,if you side with Ansbach. After he reacts to you helping him,she also does.
She says something along the lines of "It seems it was Sir Ansbach that won you over.Even though you have no aligience to the Lord Of Blood.Very well"
