Bismarck doing as well as it did in round 1 makes sense. Being a follow-on from the Bayern class, she was designed for close-in brawls. If this fight was at a longer range, I suspect that Vanguard would have won even more decisively.
I definitely feel close range made quite a bit of a different (accuracy, and all that, along with rate of fire and reload) But I suppose not having the flaws she did historically also gives Bismarck quite the advantage (Everything being above the turtleback, and her own radar being knocked out by her guns) Though as she was mainly designed for close range engagements, it does make sense how she defeated vanguard
Its just a game in real life vanguard have thicker armour and have better radars and other technology and the guns were upgraded and it was better then bis gun
In reality vanguard was better then bismarck as it has thicker armour range technologies and its guns were upgraded and have better range then bismarck and if the vanguard stayed the range the bismarck will be defeated
I gotta love the last fight. Bismarck goes greek and just rams vanguard, killing her speed and seemingly knocking her out of the fight completely. At then end they might as well just drawn swords and try to board each other.
It is quite cool how it looks like as if the Bismarck just has to take hits, but once it start hitting herself, she starts to deal some serious damage. Almost like a brawler that makes their opponent tire themselves out first before going on the offensive.
In reality vanguard would have made the bismarck sinked as vanguard have thicker armour 356mm compared to bismarck 320mm then vanguard also have better range radar technology same speed and the guns were upgraded it have a better range and it was better then bismarck guns though in close range the bismarck have a chance win but long range vanguard will beat bismarck
Now there is what this league misses.. Drach as an extra commentator so that it becomes a bit like traditional sportsbroadcasting.. :D "Ohh, that was a big one on Bismarck there." "That is right, Drach, she's really going to have to get her game up if she wants to stay in this contest.."
IMO, Vanguard would have the upper hand had she maintain the range, she clearly have the advantage with FCR in the early stage, the 15inch would have worn Bismarck down overtime.
I thought you were going to play each ship to their advantages when you took control? Vanguard had better long range accuracy so by brawling you screwed it over.
Not sure if this is something in the game, but it seems like Bismarck controlled the flooding after the ram better then vanguard because vanguard hit Bismarcks armored belt with its un armored bow. Bismarck was probably more resistant to taking flooding because of that and vanguard “opened up” in more places. That’s just my guess though haha
I still stand that Yamato will suffer due to her guns being so bad (39 inches rather than 49 of pen, and abysmally slow reload) Then again, was there really any doubt she’d win the division (Apart from Iowa’s 15 inch belt, I understand it’s due to the angle, but citadel V already states it contains an angled belt, Which is why you never did what you did for Iowa for the other division ships (increase armor due to angle), so doing it for her seems weird In this case I feel Iowa wins due to her being a bit buffed and Yamato nerfed slightly I know these are prerecorded but this is just for future notice
Anything bigger than 16" is kind of useless in UAD, in my experience. If anything I think Yamato's strong points are her armour and the ability to just stay afloat and pepper stuff with secondaries. I predict Iowa will win this division, but it's UAD so you never know!
What a first match! Not sure I have been that invested since the Hood-Bismark match last division. And that was only because I wanted to see if Hood would be historically accurate in going off like a Roman Candle.
This is why i never build true all or nothing ships in game with just splinter protection for armor in the extended sections, everything over pens them and floods you out, you DON'T have a reserve of bouncy in the citadel to alone keep the rest of your ship from sinking. Even secondary guns just chew through your overall hit points with low armor there, its an achilles heel, main gun overpens seem to flood every time. I instead make the extended armor at least 1/3 the main belt or main deck armor thickness, and I almost never flood from gun fire, and shrug off thousands of secondary hits.
In reality vanguard would have made the bismarck sinked as vanguard have thicker armour that is 356mm compared to bismarck 320mm also vanguard have better range radar technology same speed and the guns were upgraded it have a better range and it was better then bismarck guns though in close range the bismarck may win but long range vanguard will beat bismarck
Speed protection and armament were on par but Vanguard had better radar. Seetaktradar had a range of about 6-10 nautic miles while type 293 radar had 15 nm. Moreover Vanguard had early warning radar of 70 nm range.
I personally don't think this was anywhere near as close as made out to be that second round with Vanguard was kind of cocked up on your part Munro but hey I still love this series and the content just a lil criticism is all.
@18:00 bismarck is doing a boarding party, too save the tea and biscuts, then don`t want to humiliate the British so far that they have a "northern sea party"

8:40 Vanguard ~50% accuracy @ 18.2km with maybe 10 salvos fired, is that really high or have I just been watching more older design/tech ships recently?
Accuracy was the name of Vanguards' game compared to other WW2 BBs generally speaking. She really should have stayed further out and used her superior accuracy at range but that would have made too much sense I suppose
@@BrotherMunro have you noticed quite alot of people criticized that you put double bottom instead of triple bottom, and you reducing beam to lover its accuracy even more etc.

Precisely Vanguard was landing hits at long range more accurately why did she close at all?
AI never stays at range in UAD, they charge in, run away or just clump up and sit there.
