Im 15… The nostalgia hits hard which is weird to say since I’m still quite young, but my dad played this for me when I was very young. Like, when I was 3 or 4 I would listen to Jake bugg on repeat in the car. I had no idea what the lyrics meant, but now that I’m older I can appreciate both what the song is about, and just the raw feeling of his music. Legendary artist no doubt.
64 yo from USA here..first time hearing this song, on irish rdio station. had to goofle it to find out aboutmore about.Amazing . There are a thousand 'Country' singers, and plenty of Rockers, who wish they'd written/ this....
Jake is from my home town Nottingham. I saw him live when he was just starting out at an open mic night on Rescue rooms. His first manager who set up Confetti studios comes to drink in my bar and Micheal Socha who features in his music videos stays often with the rest of the this is England cast. Great to be a part of the Nottingham scene as we have such diverse talent in this city
handsome little boy playing great with a guitar and singing. what's not to like?? I cannot put his voice out of my brain now. He is definitely brilliant.
About 2010 my dad took my to a pub in stapleford, I was too young to remeber much of it but I remeber someone playing music there. This song came on radio the other day and my dad told me this was the man who was playing in the pub 14 years ago
Heard this song, like, 10 years ago on the music Channel when I still had cable. I immediately added it to my ipod. I've loved it ever since. I introduced it to my husband, he had never even heard it. He loves it now. We introduced our 3 year old to this song. She asks to listen to it every day. Such a great song! ❤️
Incredible and unique voice, not heard a bad song from him, I havnt a clue why he's not a household name, he could prob be a top actor as well if he chose to. Hope to hear a lot more of Jake Bugg, all the best from Stockport
"Lightning Bolt" Morning, it's another pure grey morning Don't know what the day is holding And I get up fightin' Hoping I walk right into the path of a lightning bolt The Siren of an ambulance comes howling Right through the center of town and No one blinks an eye And I look up to the sky for the path of a lightning bolt Met her as the angels parted for her But she only brought me torture But that's what happens When it's you that's standing in the path of a lightning bolt Everyone I see just walks the walk with gritted teeth But I just stand by and I wait my time They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine But when I see the signs I'll jump on that lightning bolt And chances, people tell you not to take chances And they tell you that there aren't any answers And I was starting to agree But I awoke suddenly in the path of a lightning bolt And fortune, people talking all about fortune Do you make it or does it just call you In the blinking of an eye Just another passerby in the path of a lightning bolt Everyone I see just walks the walk with gritted teeth But I just stand by and I wait my time They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt In silence, I was lying back gazing skyward When the moment got shattered I remembered what she said And then she fled into the path of a lightning bolt
I just discovered him while watching the series Happy Valley. His is the theme song which i like very much. I started listening to more of him & loved almost all! He has a unique style/voice & I love it!
Just discovered Jake Bugg... he's incredible. He's got some really good influences in music.. I can't wait to see what else is in store. Awesome guy.. better than half of today's musicians. :) love him.

Love this! He's cute... I thought it was a song from the 60s, even the video looked 60s.. possibly Johnny Cash vibe? although theres some definite Oasis 90s vibe going on there too.. and he looks Swedish.. very cool!!

Discovered this song awhile back, and I honestly thought it was from the 60’s the first couple of times I heard it. A couple of months later I decided to look it up and found it was actually made in 2012. My mind was blown and I asked myself how did I not hear about this guy earlier? I love his music now and will continue to listen to him for a long time
i just found a piece of art on the tree lawn of a bicycle on the streets here called vilshult at a house i grew up at. a friends house i used to bike to everyday to hang out. 25 years ago. had to rewatch this. Thanks.
Ho-ly SHIT! That song was awesome. This kid somehow tapped into a forgotten brand of music and not only succeeded at breathing life into it but made sure people remember it meant business! Made my night to discover this song (watching Lucie, im sure like more than a few of you lol 😅).
This song deserves more credit it’s legendary
Steven Keenan the fact is that he is dylan's copycat. You shall say dylan deserves to be known by young people, not this guy. He just imitates him.
nicg g nah mate, that’s disrespectful.
And no doubt dylan’s an absolute legend.

I'll add a few views a day long as I can. :D

What happened to him?
Legit same thing happened to me bro ahah
Same happened to me today

It's always refreshing to see new young talent. This young man has already played Royal Albert Hall. So did Zeppelin.
He has also toured America as the opening act for one of the Gallagher brothers. Poor lad couldn't by a beer as he was too young over there to do so.

Morning, it's another pure grey morning
Don't know what the day is holding
And I get up fightin'
Hoping I walk right into the path of a lightning bolt
The Siren of an ambulance comes howling
Right through the center of town and
No one blinks an eye
And I look up to the sky for the path of a lightning bolt
Met her as the angels parted for her
But she only brought me torture
But that's what happens
When it's you that's standing in the path of a lightning bolt
Everyone I see just walks the walk with gritted teeth
But I just stand by and I wait my time
They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine
But when I see the signs I'll jump on that lightning bolt
And chances, people tell you not to take chances
And they tell you that there aren't any answers
And I was starting to agree
But I awoke suddenly in the path of a lightning bolt
And fortune, people talking all about fortune
Do you make it or does it just call you
In the blinking of an eye
Just another passerby in the path of a lightning bolt
Everyone I see just walks the walk with gritted teeth
But I just stand by and I wait my time
They say you gotta toe the line, they want the water not the wine
But when I see the signs I jump on that lightning bolt
