The combo Mike-Ben in the kitchen is very wholesome. Mike is confident and efficient! The energy of the storm well used! And Ben looked a bit less... fidgety? They are so fluid together! Kudos on the sprig... of fennel!
Mike also keeps Ben from going a bit to far with the innuendos and double meanings. Honestly though they all work as any pair or whatever combination they want to do. It's so obvious that it's a group of good mates who have been mates for a long time before the show even existed who all just happen to have the same passion for food of all types and tastes. It works so much better than those channels or shows where they've been put together and might have become friends over time but just don't have the connection that this lot has. You can see and hear the fact that they're truly best mates who really care about each other and get along as only best mates can.
I didn’t expect it to be this relaxing and refreshing to see the guys cooking a nice meal for another without it being a competition or having overly challenging restrictions. Just allowing them too cook the best menu they can based off what they think one their mates would enjoy. It’s nice to see their full talents on display without the panic or fear added from a challenge.
Same. I really enjoyed this video. Their thoughtfulness and friendship really shines though. (Although I do love me some chaotic battles & pass it ons too)
You can tell that the lads are all old friends. They have genuine fondness for one another while they gleefully, yet lovingly, mock each other terribly. And you really have to be good friends to go through all this effort to make a nice meal for each other. I cannot wait to see the others dream menus and their question responses, hope you guys do that. And Ben was on point for the jokes today! Thank you for such a nice video!
Had an idea to torment, I mean, test the normals: 6 ingredient challenge but with a twist. Let them buy their 6 ingredients for a dish and then make them choose 2 ingredients to keep and pass the other 4 to the next guy. Then they pick another 2 and pass the remaining 2 to the final guy. That way, they each get 6 ingredients: 2 they wanted, 2 they can work with, and 2 wild cards.
Indeed, Barry dragged two chefs to the top of a mountain just to feed him. He does love to be spoiled. 😂 (And I think his pals get joy from bestowing this love language, so it is very sweet and wholesome all around.)
Always love the little direct admittances that the guys care about each other, such as Ben while he shelled the beans. It's just nice when people aren't afraid to admit they give a damn about others. I want to see the normals try to do this challenge for Ben tbh.
Yeah, this video is pure love, people spending hours working and so much effort on a gift for someone they care about and being happy while doing it ^^
8:00 "A blank canvas open for creativity" Absolutely love how generous Ben was when he described Barry and it didn't take him a second. #friendshipgoals
Ben comes across as having a lot of genuine respect for Barry. I have heard him acknowledge/compliment Barry's creativity before, in various interviews. I remember in one he sounded really in awe about Barry's "ability to spot opportunities" when talking about their beer (mis)adventure. The way Ben tells it, it sounds like Barry is kinda the one who always comes up with whacky ideas and then drives right into __making them happen__ - starting from asking Ben to make a cookbook with him, which ultimately became the Sorted we know today.
@@whydoineedanameiwillneverp7790 Agreed. I also think they have a huge amount of respect for each other. Sure they nip at each other and crack jokes, but there is no way they could do this for so long without genuine care and understanding of each other's strengths.
Indeed, especially when you take in consideration that Barry appears to be more the way that Mike hints at in most videos. I can´t say how often i´ve been watching a video and started shouting at the screen when the words "my thinking is...." came out of Barry´s mouth. most of the times with "debatable" results that followed said "thinking"...
I think Barry mentioned it once offhandedly in a previous video, about how fascinating it was to just watch Ben in his element in the kitchen, and that's pretty much how I felt about both Ben and Mike in this video. The efficiency and economy of movement of both a professional chef and of two people who are comfortable working together in a kitchen space was just a joy to watch. With such a delightful outcome!
It is so nice to see Mike and Ben working together in the kitchen without a competition or a time crunch cause it looks so calm. I laughed when it took Mike a few seconds to fully understand what Ben said about the pasta and Barry
The chaos of Pass It On is always fun to watch, but it's nice to see the two guys working together in a relaxed atmosphere for a change. And that main dish looks wonderful!
I'm loving the variety of content you're producing: This Q&A to suss out Baz's dream dish, the roundtable discussion, the hamburger challenge, the Around the World by Alphabet challenge, the travel to the Alps. Wonderful variety, and I love that these episodes are being spread throughout. Sorted Food evolves again!
@@SortedFood what if all his dishes were flavoured around the questions but styled like all his disasters. So the starter could be styled like a juicy lucy slider and the main looks like a burrito stuffed with not-paella.

My favorite part of this was the camaraderie between the players. There was no pranking or gotchas, just friends cooking for friends. Thank you for a positive video to offset the gray, rainy day hereabouts.
The absolute joy on Barry's face at each bite is delightful to see. At the end, when he takes another bite of the pasta, and he's blown away again. Love to see it. There is a certain satisfaction that comes from watching someone that knows and does their job well performing those tasks. Watching Ben cook is like that. I could watch it for ages. Mike's exuberance and delight at each stage turning out exactly like he wanted and it tasting so good. *chef's kiss*
This was an especially enjoyable episode and I couldn't quite put my finger on why. I was thinking maybe since it was less chaos, Ben and Mike have really good chemisty together, as well as you guys just going all out to make a friend (Barry) their dream menu which is so wholesome and thoughtful. Thanks for the content! 😊
Loved seeing Mike and Ben work together on this. I feel like do Mike's Menu next with Ben and Jaimie, then Jaimie's with Ben and Barry then all three Normals work together on Bens dream menu.
Omg I absolutely love this idea about cooking with a specific person in mind. I know it's a format but I can feel the care and love you guys have for Barry. It's something special, this is.

This was great fun, I'd love to see each of you get treated this way eventually. Fantastic idea!

Watching Barry with the cocktail made me unreasonably happy. He truly was in his element there. Such a sweet and wholesome video, can't wait to see more of them (a lot more, if possible).

This was lovely! Calm cooking, great food, lots of explanations, and caring friends. Mike is such a good influence in the kitchen !! I vote that you try and cook Ben's favourite, because I cannot be the only one who wants to hear him say if he likes it rough or smooth. 😛

Ooh, I really enjoyed this episode. Lovely to see cooking not under pressure, duress or with a twist, but purely with the aim to make something that’s going to really please a mate’s tastes. Thought the quiz was a nice starting point 😊 Also got to give it (no innuendo intended here) to Ebbers for the never ending stream of innuendos 😂

Love this format. It showcases how to come up with a unique meal based upon the person you are cooking for in a great way. A skill everyone who cooks needs to learn. :)
Did you just come up with a new series that involves travelling here? U.K., county by county, using local ingredients and regional specialties. Either alphabetically or geographically. You’ll do your travelling in a controlled manner, you get to talk up home nation cooking, and introduce plenty of alternatives to pies in rolls!
Watching Ben and Mike cook together was genuinely a lovely experience, some of the footage of just Ben cooking away in his element was so wonderful to watch. I feel like Mike's dream menu would revolve around chicken somehow but it would be interesting to see the direction it goes. I'd love to see Ebbers or Kush have their "Dream Menu" cooked by the normals and watch the insanity unfold.
I thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtfulness of this video. Watching you joyfully celebrate your friendship is a pleasure to watch. I can’t wait to see what you cook up for the others.
You're going to have to bring James back for Ben's dream menu. That way Kush isn't all on his lonesome and James can use things he's learned since leaving that Ben has never seen.
What a fun idea! I'd love to see this as a mini series where we get Jamie helping to make Mike's menu, then Barry helping make Jamie's, then if he's willing maybe Kush+someone (or everyone) make Ben's? And Ben+someone could make Kush a menu too in return!
You should have some sort of contest to have one of your subscribers win a chance to have you ask them 13 questions and create a dream menu meal for them. Loved all the subtle innuendos, as well. Keep 'em coming!
I`ve written this before and no doubt will again - but it`s easy to forget due to all the fun - just what an excellent chef Ben actually is! And think of having someone look at you as Barry looked at Mike and Ben when tasting the drink!
So nice to watch Mike cooking without pressure. Always nice to watch Ben being a chef.

MORE OF THIS PLEEEEEEEEASE!!! Would love to see an Ebbers dream menu 😊
Aw this was a sweet episode. You all know each other so well that even with random questions, you can make something right up their alley!
I thought only Mike could do Eyebrow Acrobatics but Ben has joined the ranks as well.
What a joy to see the Sorted boys be actual mates for once! So refreshing to watch!
Can't wait for Jamie's dream menu. Steak, bacon and cheese sandwich anyone?
Don't forget the tinned SPAM! 😂
@@Getpojke Also 'flavour'.
Came here directly from Mike’s dream menu video. HUGE difference 🥺 Mike deserves a redo.
Ha! I’m going to use this idea when inviting friends over for their next “dream” meal. So inspired!
You should have some sort of contest to have one of your subscribers win a chance to have you ask them 13 questions and create a dream menu meal for them. Loved all the subtle innuendos, as well. Keep 'em coming!
Mike and Jamie are obvious candidates, but id be fascinated to see this for James. Great format, as always
There was something so sweet, pure, and generous about this whole concept. I loved these vibes.
Wonderful concept this! Hope that there will be videos for the other normals and Ben as well.
I`ve written this before and no doubt will again - but it`s easy to forget due to all the fun - just what an excellent chef Ben actually is! And think of having someone look at you as Barry looked at Mike and Ben when tasting the drink!
loving the episodes with ben + a normal we had Jamie and ben a few weeks back. Now we have mike. Just need one with Barry now
