@chilfofGod These kind of reports clearly involves humiliating and belittling entire countries and their populations. This is not a new tactic; BBC has been engaging in this behaviour for decades. They take pleasure in showcasing graphic and disturbing images of people suffering and starving, all to push their agenda.
Fortunately, people today are more astute and recognize these manipulative tactics. Social media and unbiased TH-camrs are helping to inform and educate the public, preventing them from being swayed by misleading reports. BBC has lost, and no one takes these people serious. 🙄

As a Somali, witnessing the ongoing droughts, floods, and disasters affecting our country is heartbreaking. Videos like this remind me of the resilience of our people, but also of the need for real change. I’ve always dreamed of contributing to that change by working with organizations like the Red Cross. Living in the heart of Somalia, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of these challenges, but opportunities to make a difference often feel out of reach due to obstacles like clan divisions. I hope that one day, I can have the chance to actively support and serve my country. To those who narrate and share our story, thank you for helping the world understand. With unity and opportunity, I believe we can build a brighter future for Somalia.

Great respect to you from Scotland. Too many people complain that other people are not fixing your problems, when in reality it is up to each person to make the effort. Can it be something simple like make a terrace so that it can store water to allow for a fruit tree to have a chance. Find the first step, then encourage others to join in. i am working on a hydro energy turbine - it with an idea, then a small model. Now it is 4 people and some help from a local university which took intrest. It is the first step which is the most importiant.

@@ahmedcweli7768 One story which has been repeated through the ages everywhere is just to start planting seeds for fruit trees at the side of a road. It is one task which costs nothing and is easy. Eventually other people will realise not just the practicality of the task, but also the ethos and humanitarianisim which promotes it. In Northern Ethiopia villages were organised to start building terraced fields - maybe just one day per week. The terraces acted as underground water reserves and ensured that life became easier for everybody. Good luck.

@@ahmedcweli7768 Hydro energy is not a good fit for Somalia due to the lack of rain and rivers. Solar on the otherhand is better, even wind turbines. I learn al lot from youtube which is a university on a small screen. Funding comes out of our own pocket, but the university which did some of the mathematical modeling organised their own grants. Try to learn about 'hydroponics'. It is an exceptionally water efficient means of producing food.

Beef is not bad for the climate - in fact, it’s good if it’s 100% grass-fed.
Let’s be clear: If we’re talking about 100% grass-fed beef, it is not bad for the climate. In fact, it can be beneficial. Why? Because grazing helps sequester carbon in the soil and prevents erosion. The animals that graze help maintain natural ecosystems, like trees and plants, which absorb CO2. It’s a natural cycle that actually reduces the total amount of greenhouse gases emitted.
Now, if we’re talking about beef that’s not 100% grass-fed? Sure, it could be slightly worse for the climate - but it’s still nothing compared to the impact of things like air travel, the oil industry, or plastic production, which truly destroy the planet. The amount of CO2 emitted by beef production is tiny when compared to the massive emissions from other industries.
    Conclusion:
Beef - especially grass-fed beef - is not a climate villain. It’s far better to focus on the real problems like air travel, oil, and plastic, which have a much larger negative impact on the climate.

As a Kenyan there is a lot of progress in Somali .....why not report of positive happening in Somali .....there is a lot of misinformation alshabab is on the Backfoot ......the Kenyan troops have done a lot in bringing Somali poeple together
Kismayo, a strategic Somali port city, was taken seized by Kenyan forces as part of AMISOM on September 28, 2012. Somali National Army and local militia groups, including the Ras Kamboni Brigade, helped remove Al-Shabaab from the area.
After the takeover, Kismayo administration was complicated. A combination of soldiers, notably Ahmed Madobe's Ras Kamboni Brigade, ruled it initially. In southern Somalia's semi-autonomous Jubaland administration, Kenyan ally Madobe's faction rose to power.
The Jubaland administration, with help from AMISOM and Kenyan military, governs the region, including Kismayo, but the Somali Federal Government considers it as part of Somalia. Jubaland now enjoys some autonomy but is nominally part of Somalia's federal framework.

The BBC’s narrative of Africa often feels overly negative and misleading, presenting African affairs with exaggerated inaccuracies. For instance, a recent report on Somalia depicts it as one of the world’s most dangerous countries-a perspective some argue is out of touch with Somalia’s current reality. While the country has faced conflict in the past, much of it was exacerbated by external interference. After 2011, Somalia has made significant progress, supported by nations like Turkey and Qatar, contributing to improvements in security, infrastructure, and governance. The BBC’s focus on outdated stereotypes rather than on-the-ground developments gives the impression of bias and overlooks Somalia’s achievements. Independent fact-checking could improve the accuracy of such reports and present a more balanced view of Africa’s progress.😢

I find it weird that people complain when BBC reports on things happening in their country, saying that it focuses only on negative parts. But this is the reality on the ground. These footages are not generated by AI. People are really suffering there as you can see. Yes, there are a few people in all African countries that live in luxury in big cities. But majority of the population are living in extreme poverty, especially in rural areas and small towns . If BBC and other media organisations only focus on those in the cities, that means they have to ignore the suffering of millions of women and children like the ones that appear in the video. Blame your governments who don’t do anything for their people, not those who take the time to show you what is happening. Most of the people who are commenting here are either living abroad or located in big cities in their own countries and have no idea about what is happening in villages.

The famine in the Horn of Africa is endemic not because of climatic factors but because of bad governance and poverty. If you compare these regions to the Gulf States, the climate of the Gulf is similar, although even drier, but the latter have a much higher standard of living due their wealth of fossil fuels and better social organisation. What the Horn of Africa needs is a good dose of reliable energy from fossil fuels to raise their living standards.

greeting from Somalia one of Somali songs says "Aabatuutsiga abbaad u lahayd" meaning "you belongs to aabatuutsi ancestors. Which indicating that Tutsi people they originally came from horn of Africa.

@mohamedabdi-go5bo the tutsis were nomads moving around from Egypt all the way to rwanda burundi drc
There is a song in Somalia
      This is the text
      Aba tutsi ga
      Abaan u lahayn
      Ragana geesiga
      Abaan u lahayn
      Edooy waa ayo
      Edooy waa inaga
Have u ever heard of it

    • @Benedir
      @Benedir 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I guess u mentioned it's a song
It is just a coincidence with my tribe(tutsi)or it's real the song is about us
      If it's real
The somali are probably the only community in the world that can keep a song for over 5000 years
If tutsis ever lived in Somalia
It would be around 4000 years ago

Horn of Africa, Somalia specifically, World Bank data shows annual rainfall is on an upward trend, and the climatic period 1931-1960 had far lower precipitation in all seasons than the period 1991-2020. Somalia's climate is wetter than in the past.
