The Sacred Mountain of China: Fanjingshan - A Castle in the Sky | Ancient Architects

  • After taking a look at the incredible natural wonder of Kalavantin Durg in my last video, it felt right to next travel to the highest peak of the Wuling Mountains in Southwestern China, the bodhimanda or place of awakening of the Maitreya Buddha. It is a sacred mountain to Chinese Buddhism and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is known as Fanjingshan or Mount Fanjing and is a main landmark for what is known as ‘Pure Land Buddhism.’
The unusual outcrop of rock, which geologically speaking is like an island of folded metamorphic rock in a sea of karsk, is the highest peak of the Wuling Mountains with an elevation of 2,570 metres or 8,430 feet above sea level.
It is also a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with a high degree of biodiversity with the rare Guizhou Golden Monkey and the Fanjingshan fir tree occurring only in a small region centring on the mountain.
The mountain has a history going back to around 2,400 years regarding Buddhism, but it likely goes back much, much further with the indigenous ethnic groups that lived here in antiquity.

I’ve been to China many times, and been to a few temples on large hills/mountains as a tourist, the heat and the effort in climbing the steps really takes the energy from you, it’s mind boggling that places like this can be built.

At 3:40 the depiction of that emperor in the old artwork... the emperor seems to be depicted as a giant, he is of a larger size then everyone else. There’s a ever growing amount of evidence in the ancient record that makes a strong case for the kings, emperors, royals & rulers of the distant past being giants &/or descendants of giants/ had a direct bloodline or family lineage to giants... which may also tie in to the whole notion of royals/ rulers possessing the divine right to be rulers. Which may also help account for the mind bendingly advanced ancient megalithic constructions around the world, that were erected on such a massive, gigantic scale... doorways, hallways, corridors, columns stair steps, etc. that seem to have been built to accommodate ancient people of a gigantic stature. .
