I'm the same. I've never been a fan of the serious growling vocals, but there's just something about Phil's voice that I frigging love, even though it is harsher than most.
I knew you’d love it!! I vote for Mouth for War, 5 Mins Alone, Drag the Waters. The best version of This Love is on their 101 Proof live album. Thanks for more Pantera 🤘
This song changed everything I knew about music. I saw the video on MTV2 and never knew music could be so heavy, but could also groove and have a melody. It still gives me goosebumps decades later.
This song is about the singer Phil Anselmo's intensive back pain when he was only in his early 20s! Phil overdosed on Heroin in 1996 whilst recording for their 1996 album The great southern trendkill, but he survived. The hard drugs he used to dull the back pain and he was badly addicted afterwards... He is mostly good now!
Reacting to Pantera will show the younger crowd a new band that was very popular in the 90s. They don't know maybe. You're helping push new music. Don't underestimate that power. It's important to the metal community
The solo is great but listen to the bass in the background while Dime is shredding. Rex is soooo underrated. Every riff Dime plays, Rex is playing on the bass.
SAME! I met them in the 903 myself. My hairdresser, Sonja from Tyler, was a groupie for them sorta . She invited me to go with her and I was immediately a fan.
This riff is so ungodly, badass iconic. And fun to play along, too. And check out the band, which shirt Phil was wearing: Crowbar. Great Doom Metal/Hardcore Band.
Track 2, 3, and 4 of Far Beyond Driven. Becoming, 5 Minutes Alone, and I’m Broken is the best 3 song run in Pantera’s catalog. They were peaking at this point in their career.
Another band that you might like as an entry into metal and is super-popular among reaction channels due to the main guy in the band allowing full reactions to be monetised, never blocks your reactions and he even streams him reacting to your reactions of his songs is 'Falling In Reverse'!!! The song 'Watch The World Burn' will blow your mind!!!!!!
Proper. This is how it's gonna be going forward. At least 3 restarts and 2 solos. This is how one reacts to the rest of Pantera's catalog. You are in for a treat. Keep up the good work. \m/
Cheers! Big Pantera fan here. If you do Pantera from album 1-End you're in for a wild ride. They didnt find their true stride until halfway through their career. So sad to see it all end too soon. RiP Dime and Vince!
I love the way you react to music. Every person perceives emotions and reacts differently. The way you perceive emotions is very pure and sincere to me. It reminds me of when I first discovered Heavy Metal music. When I first heard the sound of a heavy metal guitar, I was mesmerized, I felt a great force of energy inside me, and I was amazed by the complexity of the melodies and sound design of the guitar parts. I felt enlightened. I felt like this is what I needed since I was born. Twenty years have passed since then. I'm still a metalhead. Of course, after a while, curiosity and excitement start to exist in different directions, and I felt much more intense emotions when I first experienced this music. Of course I still do, but the first excitement is always different. The world of Heavy Metal is a very, very wide world and there is never an end of things to discover. For this reason, it will be a good companion for a long time. A song recommendation from me, the music video is also very good: Gojira - Born For One Thing th-cam.com/video/3p85-KtgDSs/w-d-xo.html
Hi mate.. I told you.. There is nothing more metal than this.. It's just 4 lads jamming in a room, to full blown groove metal... There is only one way to sum this up. And it's this..🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I should’ve said earlier sorry. I love you doing Pantera videos, I’ve been watching you do them for a couple weeks, i hope you continue t do so. They are one of my favorite bands, im 48yrs old and grew up with them and love seeing young guns like you find them and enjoy them. Do” Revolution is my name” official music video next please.
This song, summed up is: "My back hurts." Literally. In concert, Rex and Dime would provide the layered vocals. On the album, it's all Phil, and he was in so much pain at the time.
Amazing song....the entire album Far beyond driven is awesome ....my faviroute tracks from it are 5 minutes alone , use my third arm and planet caravan ...Great reaction
Love watching younger people discover Pantera! Went to 5 of these concerts as a teen, first one at 15! Listen to Clutch, Volbeat, Ministry, Corrosion of Conformity, and Black Label Society
When I was stationed in California I saw Pantera open for Skid Row. That was my intro to Pantera, what a show, I love Metal. Have you reacted to Slipknot (Duality) yet, you really should. The other day I came across a band named Pigweed (Save Me), they really rock. Love the show, thank you.
Do Mouth for war, Fuckin Hostile, Heresy, New Level, Slaughtered, Drag the Waters, Hell’s Wrath, Rise, By Demons be driven & Regular People- Killer Stuff 🤘🤘
This song was about Phil. At this time in their time as a band, Phik was suffering. He had back pain issues complicated by his addition to pain medications and other things. It made him a hard person to work with and it eventually led to the separation of the band. This along with "Five Minutes Alone" and "Revolution is My Name" are some of the hardest songs they have and also some of my favorites. 🤘💥❤🤍💙
How did Pantera progress? They got heavier and more extreme while other mainstream metal went softer and more radio friendly. Pantera are legends because they never sold out but always flew the flag for heavy music for the masses. Really do start the full album journey with Cowboys from Hell and watch his they took things over the next decade!
I've seen them 4 times, and each concert was a better overall experience than any other band I've seen (including Tool, Metallica & Anthrax, who all kicked arse). As a guitarist, I went to see Dimebag, but I have to say I've never seen a more engaging frontman than Phil Anselmo. He had the crowd eating out of his hand immediately and throughout. Seeing them 3 times in one year, I can also say that the between-song banter was truly ad-hoc and obviously unrehearsed. Phil was just the guy every woman wanted and every man wished he was.
Check out Zakk Wylde - Black Label Society - "In This River" - Live in Paris. Zakk was a guitarist for Ozzy. The song "In This River" is a tribute song for Dimebag (Pantera Guitarist).
I remember when I discovered pantera in high school. I was so blown away. Nobody makes a guitar scream like Daryl. You need to check out the live version of cemetery gates off of their live album. It’s so much better. I don’t even listen to the album version. As Phil’s voice evolved into a more tough sound the live version just sounds so much better
94 - 98 Pantera were the baddest band in Metal. Great choice of song. A band that has seemed to have gone under the radar with reaction channels, and I think you'd really like, are Machine Head. Kinda like Groove Metal mixed with Thrash. Their first album 'Burn my Eyes' is a classic. Check out the opening track 'Davidian'. You'll feel like you were hit by a train by the end. Enjoy the Metal journey and good luck with the channel. New Sub.
Pantera is my all time favorite 🖤✨🤘 I'm so glad I found your channel. Metal is my life! Watching people discover what's out there, makes my heart full. Xoxo And you're so cute 🤭
This is my fav song from pantera. Side note: i had this as my ring tone for a bit but had to change it cause i would never answer the phone. I just kept listening to the song
My favorite Pantera song. The lead singer's number one influence has always been Rob Halford of Judas Priest. Ironically JP got Pantera their big break as well. So cool
This song is soooooo badass, but “Mouth for War” is f*#king incredible
Mouth for war official video is a total banger. 🤟👍
Mouth for War is the best Pantera Song ever
@@djogicdzenan4412 It seems to get overlooked by reviewers, they don’t know what they’re missing. 🔥
That whole song is banger and the end is absolutely nuts!! If you can do the official video will feel it more
@@shifterbbr1986 Too bad, it should do it so that the reviewer can see it.
“Again please” lol!
Hes getting it now.
this is what groove metal is
He listens to a lot of music..but everytime he gets back to Pantera he remembers how great their music is... I love the look on his face.
Yeah.. this guy gets it
I love this track and video. 5 minutes alone, mouth for war, drag the waters. These should be next up for Pantera.
Primal Concrete Sledge, By Demons Be Driven. Great Southern Trendkill....all bangers, can't go wrong.
@@jasonlighton9636 'War Nerve' and 'Where You Come From' are classics
I think songs like This Love, Floods and Hollow are more down his alley.
Mouth for war for the Island boys. They need the words.
5 minutes alone
Dime's solo's still bring a tear to my eye. R.I.P. brother. Tell Vinnie Hi for me.
That bass line under the solo is on point! Nobody gives Rex enough props!
So true. Bass players get no love
Oh yes!! This one... and 5 minutes alone, best of Pantera 💪💪
Yes yes yes 5 minutes alone❤
Vinnie was such a great drummer. One of the all time greats for metal🤘
Phil’s voice growing on you is super common. Nearly no one starts enjoying harsh vocals instantly, it comes gradually.
I'm the same. I've never been a fan of the serious growling vocals, but there's just something about Phil's voice that I frigging love, even though it is harsher than most.
Pantera and Machine Head were my doorway into harsh vocals, and it was a steep downhill from there. Once you get a taste for it, it's addictive.
The best five people to ever make music in my generation. I’m so glad I got to see them at least once and they’re from my hometown
Pantera-This Love
Pantera ~ Mouth for War, A New Level, Slaughtered, War Nerve & Suicide Note 1 & 2 (gotta do them together)
Sepultura ~ Refuse/Resist, Propaganda, Attitude “live”, Territory & Roots Bloody Roots
Coal Chamber ~ Loco, Sway, Big Truck & Bradley
Dime was and always will be the man, but Rex’s bass makes that solo what it is. So dark and dirty just lurking underneath the surface the entire time.
I knew you’d love it!! I vote for Mouth for War, 5 Mins Alone, Drag the Waters.
The best version of This Love is on their 101 Proof live album.
Thanks for more Pantera 🤘
Oooooh, respectfully disagree. The Ohio live performance is my top rated
@@traceyj2765 So glad you mentioned this. Just watched that one and it sounds SO GREAT!! Phil was brutal at the end! 🤘
That feeling you've mentioned a few times about the guitar in Pantera songs is what basically created and defines the genre of groove metal.
If you are into groove metal,
Sepultura - Refust/Resist.
Machine Head - Davidian
White Zombie - Thunder Kiss '65
By far my favorite Pantera song. Such a banger. The groove is unparalleled.
Let's not forget this song was nominated for a Grammy.
Shattered by Pantera will blow your mind, and yes, it is Phil
This song changed everything I knew about music. I saw the video on MTV2 and never knew music could be so heavy, but could also groove and have a melody. It still gives me goosebumps decades later.
This is the song that got me into Pantera...
one of the best Pantera songs! 💥
The song This Love has it all . Mellow vocals at first then slsys then back and forth . Plus killer solos and drums as always .
this^^^^
The best Pantera song🤘 that heavy RIFF👊
Best ringtone tune ever.........only problem is I never want to answer the phone so I can keep on listening to it 😅😊😂
@@bigmatt1994 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤘
My ringtone is ‘Wherever I May Roam’ by Metallica, I miss quite a few calls just by letting it ring out 🤣
@@MollyBoyTV lol 😆 😂
I saw them live in 91. Pantera is amazing. This is my favorite song by them. Great choice!
Pantera fan from the 90s here, and this is still my favorite lol 🤘
This song is about the singer Phil Anselmo's intensive back pain when he was only in his early 20s! Phil overdosed on Heroin in 1996 whilst recording for their 1996 album The great southern trendkill, but he survived. The hard drugs he used to dull the back pain and he was badly addicted afterwards... He is mostly good now!
This has always been my favorite Pantera song. 5 Minutes Alone and Cemetary Gates are up there.
Every riff Dime plays, Rex is playing on the bass.
absolutely! Rex holds it down hard...but also adds musicality!!!
Personal fav is when he's holding down the groove in Psycho Holiday. Getcha Pull!
This video turned me on to Pantera. Plus I met them in tyler Texas the night they re order cowboys from hell..didn't realize what I was seeing
Songs like this are why my heart aches so much Pantera ! As the best imho
Another band that you might like as an entry into metal and is super-popular among reaction channels due to the main guy in the band allowing full reactions to be monetised, never blocks your reactions and he even streams him reacting to your reactions of his songs is 'Falling In Reverse'!!! All the album is incredible, drums, noise, claustrophobic rffs
I would love to see him react to planet caravan, such a great chill out song
These guys just simply revolutionized metal. I remember running to Tower records to get this CD in 1995 lol
They did give metal a kick in the ass. Just as grunge and alternative were taking off.
Back in the early 90's I lived, ate and slept Pantera, one of the only bands I've ever been to see live.
Please do Mouth for War by them next.
Proper. This is how it's gonna be going forward. At least 3 restarts and 2 solos. This is how one reacts to the rest of Pantera's catalog. You are in for a treat. Keep up the good work. \m/
This is when metal improved to the level of gold. Idc what anyone says about this bit this is the best band ever in my eyes
Always grateful that I got to see them live-original Pantera-(with Dimebag and Vinnie)🤘
Will always be my favorite Pantera song. If I ever have an intro song, this would be it!
I was lucky enough to see them live once in '94. The was a wild f'ing show.
Cheers! Big Pantera fan here. If you do Pantera from album 1-End you're in for a wild ride. They didnt find their true stride until halfway through their career. So sad to see it all end too soon. RiP Dime and Vince!
Dimebag is a guitar God... RIP....he had such pure talent and swagger that can never be replicated...
THIS LOVE!!!!!! one of their best songs EVER!!!
Pantera is one of the best it’s in my top 3 sick 💪🏻👌🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
They came from Brazil in 1996, and destroy São Paulo, we love Pantera !!!!

My fave Pantera tune
I know Molly, a badass song and one fkn Epic guitar solo! Love watching your reactions to metal.

New sub, lifelong metal head. This love, drag the waters. Many more from pantera, plus loads of other bands
This album is brilliant! You should definitely check out more of this album, especially the songs Strength Beyond Strength and Slaughtered. 💪🔥🤘
Hell yeah. I crowd surfed to Slaughtered ack in 2001 on Pantera’s last tour together. I was 5 feet from Dime
Greetings from Portugal! You just nailed it with that "Again please!" just after the solo. Hell yeah!!
Try "Mouth for War" next. Keep rockin', peace.
Prolly the greatest metal band ever assembled. Good to see young blood digging on old metal
Two more bangers today. Excellent choices!
