I had the pleasure of meeting Cliffe at his church in New Canaan, CT during the 2017 Christmas Eve service. He really is a Godly Man! I remember telling him, "I am amazed by your incredible patience during your Give Me An Answer debates." He smiled and said, "So am I!" 🤣🤣🤣

    • @thomashoevelaken8647
      @thomashoevelaken8647 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

Danny Saint thanks for explaining what you mean!
I think that what he meant by his answer to the first guy, is that it is impossible for him to prove that the bible is the word of God, just by the words in the book itself. I think that what he was pointing at, was the historical reliability of the 4 gospels, that there are 4 tests that he uses on any document that claims to be historical. I think he phrased it in that way to make his point.
He (Cliffe) puts his faith in Jesus Christ, and he always points to that being the way to salvation. Right?

    • @thomashoevelaken8647
      @thomashoevelaken8647 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

And you are right. The gospel accounts (nor any other book in the bible) was not written to us. However, it was (all the 66 books) written for us.
The books all have a specific audience that they were originally addressed to. Once we understand the meaning it once had to the original reader, we can then extract from that the meaning that the words and stories in the bible have for us.
Things always need to be read in the context (historical, literary, etc.) before we can understand what it means.

      That's awesome 😊.
I have absolutely NO patience for people ( especially children half my age ) who assume a whole bunch of stereotypes about me and my faith that aren't true, behave as if they're morally superior and a beacon of reason while explaining to me that Im ignorant, intolerant, and bigoted just because I disagree with them, and expound upon the virtues of their morally bankrupt worldview- ALL while insulting and laughing at me, so I'm really glad there are apologists out there that do have patience!😄 I'm afraid my quick temper would be a detriment to a Godly example of Christian ethics and thought process to answer questions effectively- that, AND I'd probably be snatching kids up by the ear for being disrespectful because I would hope someone would correct my kids if they acted that way in public.

I have heard Gods audible voice. As a new Christian I was driving home from church one night. I heard the words Be Still and Know That I Am God. The following day I'm reading Psalms and come across the same words I heard the previous night and shouted "thats what I heard last'!! God shows me things before they happen such as the day before 9/11 I see an open vision of a plane careening towards a crash. Ive had so many open visions. Such as my 2nd open vision as I was standing facing east towards Israel. I see the earth the size of my fist with the atmosphere all darkened. I suddenly see the saints of God going up. Correct! Stick to the Bible. I had a encounter which I don’t tell anyone because even I doubt my encounter. But it’s what drove me to Him and to read the Bible.
I don’t know the origin of the experience I had. All I know is that I needed to forgive someone who I was hating for months and killing myself for what the person did to me.
I couldn’t let go. But in a desperate moment I had my encounter. One vision with eyes opened. And I was able to let go and forgive as magic in my heart.
That’s all I can say with 100% certainty.
If that was my brain doing a trick to me in order to survive? I don’t know.
But I was an atheist and now I am Christian. The amount of love is incredibly powerful it’s definitely what Jesus wants for us.
I just wish more people could open their heart to realization of need for external help.

Man, Cliff has completely changed my mind about the Bible and Jesus. He makes some seriously good points. I was abhorrent against religion before, but I felt moved half a year ago to start actually reading the Bible, and now after 6 months of getting to properly know what the book actually says; I’m now finding a deep connection to what Cliffe is saying.
It’s wild because I used to be these college kids. Deeply moved by my passion for tearing down religion; yet I had absolutely no real frame of context regarding the topics I was discussing. So I just babbled endlessly looking naive.
I deeply appreciate these videos, Cliffe’s perspective makes so much sense. It’s like Jesus himself said, “You will know a prophet by the fruit they bear. A good tree will bear good fruit; but a bad and rotten tree will produce bad fruit.“
Cliffe produces good fruit, in how he holds himself, how he talks to people, how he tries his hardest to embody what Jesus truly said; not what modern religions say.
Blessed be this man. He’s making a follower out of me.

“ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭

    • @johnnyrocket1685
      @johnnyrocket1685 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes but who wrote Timothy….. Saint Timothy, who never met Jesus and who also never met the twelve disciples, because they all started dying kind of fast after Jesus.
Timothy was a a recruit from Paul, a man who also never met Jesus, and who only really worked alongside Peter mostly.
      .
Timothy was not Jesus. Paul was not Jesus. Jesus was Jesus. The most reliable source of what Jesus said as Jesus, is what the original disciples wrote in the Gospels.
Jesus says to love everyone as they love themselves and as they love God. Paul is the one who demonized homosexuality. Jesus was asked about Marriage specifically, and Jesus said “God created them man and woman, and because of this, God said ‘A man shall leave his parents and be joined with his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer separate, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has ordained; Do not separate.”
Jesus never, ever explicitly said “Homosexuals are awful people.” That was Paul, who never even met Jesus. He was going off what Peter was saying primarily, and Paul later, after assuming true power in the new gentile (non-jewish) accepting “Christian” movement, chose of his free will to demonize certain people outright.
Jesus never did that. Jesus said “Hey, I love you like I love myself, and therefore; I want you to be better. Do not murder, do not judge others, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and sou, and love your neighbors as you love yourself.”
To the point that Jesus even implores us to love our enemies too. Even murderers and thieves and adulterers love those who love them. Even they give their own children good gifts. So what more are you or me or any others doing if we do not also love our enemies and pray for those who would try to persecute us, no matter the reason?
As Jesus was on the cross, he proclaimed “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.” Jesus didn’t condemn them, he didn’t say they should be punished. No, he openly begged God in Heaven to forgive them of their sins because he loved them just as much as his disciples.
They’re still human beings that God created equally with free will. It’s just they chose to use that free will to kill Jesus, and even then he wanted them to forgiven.
      .
No, I personally do not believe we should listen to some of the men who came after Jesus. As Jesus himself said, “You can tell a prophet by the fruit they bear. A good tree will bear good fruit; but a bad tree will produce bad fruit.”
Jesus warned us that “Many will come in my Name and seek to dissuade even God’s elect, through miracles.” Look at Cliffe; he is a true disciple of Christ. He embodies what Jesus truly said, and he respects all life deeply. But he has faith in Jesus Christ as Lord, and therefore is simply saying “If this is true, this is what we must do.”
True followers of the 4 Gospels, what Jesus actually said while he was living and even after his resurrection, produce men like Cliffe. Men who truly understand the importance of Love and faith in Jesus Christ.

Followers of modern Christianity and Catholicism base their beliefs primarily on the laws and regulations put forth by Paul and Timothy, two men who never met Jesus in his time on earth, and became followers many years later.
The followers of Paul and Timothy are the ones who enacted the Crusades. The followers of Paul and Timothy are the ones who fought to preserve slavery in the US. The followers of Paul and Timothy are the ones who stand outside of planned parenthood buildings and go into Gay Pride Parades preaching how they’re all evil and deserve Hell if they don’t turn to their belief system.

    Men always look for loopholes...
Rape would be a violation of about half The 10 Commandments. Obviously it shows that you do not revere God (1 & 2), you are lusting/committing adultery (7), and stealing (the other persons body does not belong to you) (8), probably has nothing to do with honoring your parents (5), and likely involved coveting (10). So while so many wish to claim that The 10 Commandments are insufficient - I contend - it really only shows the depths of their own depravity, lack of critical thinking, and intellectual dishonesty.

i am a vietnamese american and 24 going on 25. my family was buddhist but also sinners and took religion seriously only on certain occasions or circumstances.
all of life reminds me of the story of prince ghandi being born into a kingdom and spoiled by his father, being shielded from all things relating to suffering or negative experience. ultimately, ghandi (id say his soul craved to know what was real, as in real on earth and the universe) left the kingdom and went outside because he became so bored and depressed of the good life essentially. seeing the suffering and homelessness and starvation outside opened his eyes to the rest of the world, and he was upset at his father for hiding these things from him.
i think we as people, allowed to be born in the first world, into a house constructed by architects, electricity and water ran by working class men and companies that manage these distributions. any electronic device immediately available.. and so on... i think because we are all born into such a divine kingdom of human experience, we forget how destructive and painful starvation and freezing can be in the open plains of nature. i think all of these athiests will one day believe because them having this discussion is their way of expressing their confusion and ignorance of the complete human experience. on top of that, the big bosses of the monopoly board we all are forced to play on keep the crucial information from us. why would they want us to beat them at their game? they have the keys to knowledge and power. we are kept in the dark and spoiled each second to pull us away from discovering.
    insert allegory of the cave.
in some way, we in the first world are on the opposite end of the north korean dictatorship and mass hysteria/delusion
i could be making no sense at all of course but i just had these thoughts flowing through me for months and months after slowly opening my eyes to the word of god and what religion had to say. my main goals are to continue finding the right way to articulate truth logic and reasoning in order to heal my family members of the confusion and angst they feel at this world.

When we say God is outside of time so he can see past, present, future in a single glance. Its not stating that he is controlling that past, present, future. Think of it as watching a movie. You dont control what happens to the characters in the movie, you're observing them. However God is all powerful he can step in and effect things but he will never control you like a robot/puppet. Ultimately your decisions are yours but he will let you know when you're about to do something wrong via your conscience and morals.

A few things to consider. How is WORKS defined in scripture:
    -Works of the Flesh
    -Works of the Law
    -Works of the Spirit
Ephesians 2 is not a contradiction to James 2, as many magnify one over the other. We harmonize, we ARE judged by our works. But the WORKS of the spirit are done in faith through Christ strength.
    2 Corinthians 5:10
    Mathew 16:27
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

There is nowhere in the Gospels that states that you have to be baptized publicly; it is true that John the Baptist, and Apostles did baptism in public. You can do it at home. I feel sorry for Comue didn't get baptized, which that minister did a grave miss service to Comue.

I believe (my opinion) is that the reason why camue did not want a public baptism was to not let go of his public platform of his atheistic views. Which in fact would have made his conversion hypocritical and not genuine. Baptism is a public declaration of the belief in Christ but baptism is not what Saves us. Our faith in Christ does by Romans 10:9. However to be fair. What I said about camue is all conjecture. God is fair.

This guy at 9:05 said that they don't teach you that history is true they teach that the way its constructed is true, what ever that means. So we are taught how to make things look like history but isn't?

God is just, and Mercy cannot rob justice, so that’s why he provided a mediator to satisfy the demands of Justice.
