    The Olympus m4/3 systems are ridiculously underrated. Easily as good as Fuji in my opinion.

      I agree. I switched from Fujifilm to Olympus M43 and have no regrets. The image quality was slightly better but in exchange you get SO many cool computational features that other manufacturers don't care about. Plus the lenses are tiny - and cheap when buying used!

      Ditched the two major brands, investing in a few OM-1 II's with 12-100 & 150-400 pro lenses. We use photography to promote tourism, so street photography, landscapes, wildlife, some astro, portraits, etc.

      I'm with you. I jumped into Fuji with an X-H2 when I finally came back into photography a couple of months back, but now have an OM-1.2 sat alongside it desperately trying to dethrone it. I have to say, it's doing a sterling job. The main problem is, I think, is that people can't see past the MFT sensor. As it's small, they don't think it's up to the task, which, as we can see from @ChrisBaitson and other photographers, just isn't the case.

    Many thanks for taking the time to do this video. Great location, indeed. I still have my Olympus OM-1N and OM-3 from the 70s and I am a Panasonic G9 and GX80 user. The MFT format and advantages are simply great. Long life to Micro Four Thirds and more lens exchange between the companies!

    Some nice shots there and a very useful video, never used live composite or live time on my em10 mark 3, not really understanding them I just left them alone, after your video it reminds me of how you can do long exposures on smart phones, which I have been enjoying doing, but I agree certain situations suit this technology more than others, I’m interested now, I shall have to have a go with Livecomp next time I’m out somewhere it would work well with.

    • @ChrisBaitson
      @ChrisBaitson  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’d agree, it’s very similar to how smart phones work, or perhaps more like how star trail photos are typically done, only it’s in camera and less faffing about when you get home and I’m all for less faff!

  • @Vincenzo-bm1up

    Just don't use "fast" exposures below one seconds, unless for very short times. 1) they will drain the battery out 2) [apparently] they will cause the banding you see at 6:14. It is perfectly possible to shoot star trails with no banding whatever at reasonable speeds of 1/2 minute / one minute. Never seen any banding myself, shot dozens of live composite images day or night.

    • @ChrisBaitson

    Some very cool examples 😁I think that for those images the ND digital filter would be very useful (adds photos with the consequent expansion of the dynamic range and noise reduction). But I think it is present from the EM1 Mark III model (it is a mode that I constantly use on my OM1 MarkII)😅

    • @benejpocock
