  • Garden city of 福州市 Fuzhou in the Fujian Province . Just showing why I consider Fuzhou to be one of the better cities in South East China to live. Besides its perfect geological location in regards to distance from Taiwan , Hong Kong , Shanghai it is a tree lined city with amazing air quality for a Chinese city.
Fuzhou is has a population of around 8 000 000 for the main part of the city.

Wellness planned with people in mind. Sensible. Love the use of tunnels to escape the heat and the winds off the water to cool the people down. Thanks for mentioning the Churches and Mosque and Temples. China has an amazing history of Islam and Buddhism which has had a great influence on the written language.

Thanks for your kind comments , my goal is to showcase another side of China from a normal persons point of view to hopefully encourage those that maybe have a negative point of view to travel and see for themselves .

hey mate, great video. My family is from Fuzhou and I'm Australian too. I haven't visited in many years but it was great to see the city again through your eyes and to see XiHu again. I noticed the eucalyptus trees as well in XiHu last time I visited; was a great surprise since they're native to Australia haha.

Thanks mate ! Ye I was always under the assumption that only Australia had those trees , but I have actually seen them in some other cities in Fujian Provence as well.
If you ever get back here you will knocked out by the cities transformation !

Man, this video is such a delight for me. I used to live in Fuzhou from 2016 to 2019. I love parks in Fuzhou (I also love Forest Park and some trails on the mountains, surrounding the city) This video brings back memories. And I also loved the fact that there are mango trees along the roads. And those vines on the overpasses, man! They look so gorgeous and I used to take pictures of them. And of course, West Lake. Maaaaan, this video reminded me about so many great things in Fuzhou, thank you! This is now one of my favorite videos on TH-cam.

I am happy this bought back some nice memories for you ! Quite a lot has changes since 2019 , we now have 5 subway lines running, an elevated tree walk and some nice dedicated tourist zones along with a lot of major infrastructure upgrades and improvements throughout the city. Fuzhou won a major award last year as one of the cleanest cities in China.

That's a nice part of the city ! Even though I have lived here for around 15 years I am always finding some new places I didn't know existed , I guess that is the beauty of a living in a transforming city. 🙂

Ye , Aust is a backward in that department . Funny thing here is , you can buy beer , spirits, wine ect in every shop 24/7, drink it anywhere you want , but you never see drunk and disorderly people. I love it , get the misses to drive while I have a beer , take the dog / kid to the park and have a beer, on the bus home from work have a beer and best of all alcohol is dirt cheap imported and local ☺
This will seem strange , but I have more freedom here than I ever experienced back in Aust😮
