  • They say you start to reminisce when you get older. I understood that this when I visited my hometown recently. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia walking past my old elementary school, the old open style markets and my favourite bakery. Breakfast is definitely one of my strongest memories of my hometown, that's why I ventured out and found all the classic Fuzhou specialities. Perhaps for the same reason, it is also my favourite food when I visit anywhere, I can't quite explain why, maybe it's because it feels like a cozy and unpretentious way to get a sneak peak of the people's lives there.

Our foods are very underrated. You really don't see or hear much about our foods, we are known to love sweet and sour flavors. Watching your video made me miss eating Fujianese food, my mom recently passed away and she was my only way to eat traditional Fujianese cuisine here in America.

This is so relatable it’s actually kinda freaky. I feel like my passage to fujianese food was lost when I lost my mom

I born there as well and watching this made me realize that a huge part of my identity is from being born in Fujian. Left at the age of 4 and never once did I pay a visit. I hereby to visit my birthplace once this corona virus ends. It is also weird but I'm also from Toronto, Canada, lol!!!
