I've got the Pro Set Elite 6 and they do sound great. Keep in mind that these are not intended for stereo music listening. My main problem is connecting the phones through Heil's adapter cable to my FTDX 3000. It always seems to misconnect and there were no instructions upon arrival. WTF, over ? Great TH-cam clips. Hope to connect on the air. KK4VTC
Agree with you on the mike not being able to be moved out of the way on the Heil Pro Set Elite. I will also agree with you with the ear pads. Takes a bit getting used to but I rather have them covered completely. Depends also on the time of year (hot/cold). Great sound. I am sure the Heil set won't be the last one. Tell me about that box where you plug in your headsets please. I need one.
had the pro set elite after 3 years one ear cup broke off just came apart , is all plastic, I take care of these head sets . never throw them they always hang up when not in use, yet the shit came apart,
Really enjoying the videos! I noticed you're running a Mac. Do you have a PC for your ham radio related tasks, or have you had success using only the Mac for everything?
I am goping for my first try right for my general next week. I was watching your video on headfsets but was wondering if you can give an idea on headsets under $100?
i just got my heil pro elite. nice sound and was able to devote to very weak signals much better. incoming sound was excellent. the audio was great considering i have not adjusted my ic 7600 audio set up yet. right out the box XE1B in mexico city was amazed at the audio quality. . for about 190 bucks ill go for heil if i could effort 300 bucks ill go for the radio sport.
+Jeff Pixelated It's the RC60CF model. check em out at www.arlancommunications.com/products/amateurRadio/radioSport/Headsets.asp BTW, if your looking to buy a new headset, I'm going to do a full review of both the Radiosport & the Heil Pro7 in an upcoming episode. This will truly be apples to apples.
The Pro 7 Headset would be better to compare against the Radio Sport Model. I have both and I see the pro/cons. Maybe you didn't have a Pro 7 available. I was fortunate to test the prototype. Nice job on the video! de N0IRS
+JD Dupuy Great point. Because I used what I had on hand, I didn't hove access to one. I'm working on getting ahold of some hardware for a true head to head full review and shootout on a future episode. Thanks for the comment.
i like a headset i picked up for my baofeng/kenwood www.wouxun.us/item.php?item_id=233&category_id=72. i wished i had an adapter for it to fit my bigger rig.
want to save some money?buy a RA900 headset Put a mini xlr microphone jack in it 3 bucks and buy the radiosport cable.. or make your own adapter save more money. same headset same mic with a bonus of volume controls. check it out.
Great video.....but you dont tell us about quality.......the proset 6 cable is like a paper...i think in hard work.....contest......i melt it.........very-very worst quality...
K6UDA thank you, great video. KN6BVX 73's

Good video. I have the Heil PSE and like it. Saw you on Ham Nation playing hide and seek with the reporter - that was cool. 73
Thanks. My pse has a bad mic element. Found out while working a contest on 5watts. Sucked bad.

After a bit of twiddling with the cables, I've got the headset set up and all is well. Sometimes, you get your head out of a dark place.
What model was the Radiosport headset that you tested?

+K6UDA Thanks for the info! I am looking for my first headset and debating what I should get. I'll be in the lookout for that next video! Thanks & 73!

I love my Radiosports, I have 2 pairs.
my head is big enough to keep it from getting bigger and looser. i don't need to worry about it getting smaller. it wont happen.
i thought that was you on ham nation. 73 kf4dcy

Your videos never lead to a clear conclusion.
Please give clear information which is better between the two headsets.
8 Year old video.. ugh..
