that is a problem, because beavers are semi-aquatic mammals, they live on water most of the time and their activity is during the night, the game got that backwards.
Ok, the Beavers are now building a spaceship. Looks like a battlecruiser from StarCraft being build, already testing its engines. Would need more of the hull and a bridge of course.🚀
For the pillars in badwater reservoir. How about having dirt blocks one block lower to give a lighter red tint to the water around the pillars. Thought about this when you mentioned liking the lighter red colour also. Can see it brung difficult to implement now. Enjoyed your videos a lot and wait everyday for them to be released.
Now that it is possible to use all kinds of fluids in the fluid dumps, I thought it would be cool to make a different fluid reservoir all across the green monster. You could just pump it right back up, and then dump it back in. But the aesthetics would be super neat! Love your vids man!
I'll take a minute to explain a bit more about all the RCE references people are making, since it sounds like you're not familiar with him - RCE started doing demo play-throughs of Timberborn in the very early days and he got many people interested in the game, including yours truly. I bought the game after the first video he posted on it! As a result, many folks who like Timberborn content are very familiar with his videos and his love of bridges. His builds are not as involved and impressive as yours, but he has continued to have fun with it. Thanks for another great video and cool design ideas!
put more storage under the smelters in the center to raise them up so that you don't have to rip everything out and redo it all. Then, the two on the ends where the number crunchers use to be, dynamite down one level and put the platforms so that you get a pyramid step shape.
I thought it looked cool having two bridges side by side. Felt more structurally sturdy and less flimsy. Another great episode, cant get enough of these!
Wherever there is a visible height gap between the platforms, I would just fill the whole gap with stairs. Like 5 stairs right next to eachother. It would give it the look of one single very wide stairway, makes it look more grand and more like one big floating entity, instead of a load of separate platforms.
It needs a view to look at when standing down there looking out over the rest of the world.. something marvelous.. like perhaps a giant pyramid in the middle of the map!
The 'runoff' as you call it (much better name than I though of) shouldn't be dams but should just be an empty tile for water to flow. I was thinking that everywhere you can around the badwater reservoir should have a tile lower and then a 1-tile wide catchment area at the bottom which connects up to lead off the map (kind of like an infinity pool)
It's too bad the water source isn't centered in the pool. He could build up a wall around it in the center that's higher than the current wall and have a badwaterfall higher than the current walls.
David Attenborough narrates: "As the Robotic Sector of Iron Tooth Lake continues to develop, our clever and industrious friends have proven their metallurgic prowess once more. Not only have they built a multitude of large platforms upon which to build their floating district, but they have also built a small mining outpost atop a newly discovered mine. This outpost, along with reclaiming the older mine long since flooded with toxic waters, shall prove to be instrumental going forward, as once the reclaimed mine has its own outpost finished, metal production as a whole across the colony will be easily tripled." Bot City is looking pretty snazzy up on that green wing, Skye. As for the newly built-up pool for the toxic water, why not add a sort of terraced design to it? From the wall and working inwards, put in one or two rows of step-down terrain, that way you can have multiple levels of color saturation. You could also do something with the outside edge of the notch so that it doesn't look too flat and empty. Right now, it kind of looks like an unfinished thing. So adding some bit of detail there would help immensely.
In all seriousness, in NYC in the.....ooh err, meat packing district, they converted old factory train lines into a walk along garden thing, sounds like something you could make special
Hey Skye! Whats the highest population youve ever been able to sustain? would be awesome to see a thriving metropolis with like a thousand beavers living comfortably!
I think we like suspension bridges for the cleanness because too much of the wooden platforms looks cluttered, However the big problem of the bridges is that they do not eliminate the need for platforms, unless you have short enough for 2 bridges or long enough for multiple bridges of length 6. This is why mods are not cheats, they just improve the game, the aesthetics of the game, many of those solutions they provide are far more expensive than the game defaults, so they are not cheats, like the mod for more modern metal bridges who are even longer, 12 in length. another big problem for bridges is that they cannot path out from the middle.
I may be the only one, but the new area just doesn’t seem big enough yet. Maybe add more platforms, so you can space the industrial buildings out a bit? Unrelated, I still can’t get over how good those waterfalls look in the corner. Another amazing good job on this map!
It looks awesome, maybe it would be even cooler to have the bad water cascade down at the front of the reservoir and have a small moat running around it, AND then have normal water running around it a level lower in a bigger moat. Why?!? Just because the beavers can.
Show us lots of bridges? Oh no, we can do better than that: It's time for a Bridge Review! 2 blocks long, and supported by a simple suspension rope design, but it doesn't go anywhere, just lets you throw piles of dirt off the end, and then build a metal platform. Since this blocks the end of the bridge, and you already can't build off the sides, that's a pretty big design flaw. (Obviously built by architects). I give this bridge a 3.4 out of 10.
Would be so cool if you could add the grease, would speed up a lot of things and would be a nice change to see some smaller project being implemented :) just a suggestion love the series!
Pardon me, I'm just watching these just for the comedy of Skye. But is it possible to run a liquid in channel on top of the metal platforms? Btw, seeing two bridges getting erected is exactly one too many for my evening. :) Have a good one, everyone there.
I hate bridges on the center on the platforms, because they waste so much space in the platform due to locking the tile where they are anchored. when you put them in the center they waste all the tiles in that side.
@skye. Are you able to build a natural tile on top of a platform? If so can you delete the platform and the natural tile still remain? If so then you could create a tunnel to the mine in order to create symmetry.
You know what the problem is skye? You need to push the wings out one more tile so you can have the 6 length bridges connected to the 4 length bridges and get the visual you want. Get on with it
@@SkyeStormei think their upset you destroyed the mines stairs, when you didnt really have to, but like... there has to be smthn else, right? something so small could never anger someone *that* much, right?
you could raise the center two platforms with the metal factory up one level but you'll have problems with power and paths. if all else fails though you can make it an ugly mess of cables at the back behind the smelters and ignore it. also the bridge comment sounds like a dig at RCE community lol. he has the similar sense of humor as you but not the building style/eye.
It's fine. The bot is only there to grab logs. The engine runs fine by itself, as long as there's a log supply. In fact, if you've got enough haulers to keep the logs topped up, you don't even need worker in the engine.

Was it the bit where I said "I love bridges"?
Lol asking RCE for a reaction video
That's what I came to say that we need a bridge review. We need a video of you and rce so he can give you a bridge review
Haha, this comment made me and my S/O laugh out loud. Funny to see RCE-reference here!
You should show rce how to build a proper dam... he is slacking compared to your beaver engineering skills

We need RCE to do a bridge review

I think you could put a *Tribute to Ingenuity* monument on top of the empty large metal platform between the mine and the factories.
I'm sure a lot of people remember the tribe of the Bridge Watchers of Metal city. Watching over the great Bridges of Nowhere.
Bridge Review! 9/10

You could use the small bridges for makeshift diving boards. If you make an area for lidos in the future..
You could just do a short video showing your work on bridges, it would be the abridged version...
LOL ;)
My grand mother was in a bridge club... but they met in her living room, not the basement... I think they played cards while talking about bridges.
Awesome day when skye storme uploads
Yup, its a great
Love your videos. I used to play this game but I stopped after experiencing the 1fps when having lots of buildings and population
All hail the bridge, which bridge ! The metal bridge 🤓. We need a bridge district for the bridge cult

yes!

gotta have more bridge

@SkyeStorme real civil engineer is the channel name and he's obsessed with bridges as well even sells bridge review merchandise haha
