Did anybody notice when Elphaba first entered the sunrise is seen behind her. Then in the ending finale scene when she finally accepts her fate after Glinda puts on her cape, she is seen behind the sunset!
I love Cynthia's sarcasm on Elphaba's first major lines. Very comical. Little different what I know from the stage production. Seen it 5 times on Broadway. In the stage version, "Elphaba" still has more sass but then aggressively throws her suitcase hard & in the students faces.
I saw this opening night and I was hooked in from the get go, but the woman sitting next to me took me out of it when she literally screamed “PART 1?!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN PART 1?!?!?!”
I love the way they depicted Elphaba's entrance as the song "Dear Old Shiz" starts. It just seems to build up the excitement and anticipation of her first appearance more than the original stage production does. When I watched it in the theater and saw her shoes step onto the landing dock and then the camera shot of the back of her shoulders and head as she adjusts her hair with her right hand, I was grinning from ear to ear and thinking, "There she is." Also, talk about this being the most badass entrance of a movie protagonist EVER! 😃
I just saw this entire movie at the theaters. It was incredible! They’re going to WIN so many awards in a few months! Cynthia Erivo better WIN an Oscar for best leading actor for all her work in this movie! She absolutely SLAYED this role! All of them were great but she was just EXTRAORDINARY!

I've now seen this 7x in theatre...its safe to say i love it!💚💗💚 Favourite line "it seems the artichoke is steamed!"😅😅😅😂😂😂(Galinda to her sidekicks in class) Loved Popular of course, that operatic run at the end (right before just not as popular as me) just blows me away. Their dances together are epic. And the chemistry between the cast is incredible. You do actually believe in their friendship. I think it helped that Cynthia and Ariana became such good friends.....and think of it, working on such emotional storylines for nearly a year together no wonder they look (in interviews like BFFs)💚❤️. It reminds me of that Big Bang episode where Leonard and Penny did an intimacy test and at the end they have to look into each other's eyes for just a minute - think of spending a year being that close with someone. Crazy good.🎉🎉🎉🎉 PS preordered the steelbook but eill see it in theaters as long as I can!!!!

I don’t like Elphaba and Nessarose’s father! He’s overly protective of Nessarose and he told Elphaba not to make a spectacle of herself. Nessarose is not a baby! And Elphaba did not make a spectacle of herself, people overreacted to her.

Why couldn't this movie have have been released on Peacock today? Another movie, Five Nights at Freddy's (maybe you've heard of it) made a 1400% in movie theaters even though it was released day & date (movie theaters & streaming service simultaneously) on Halloween in 2023.
That's because FNAF fans wanted the movie to do well, so they still went out to the theater to see it. There are a lot of Wicked fans, but they would have lost a lot of box office money if they put it up on same day streaming.

Without the whining children Without the uncomfortable seats Without the overpriced snacks ... And they could take bathroom break without missing part of the movie. The production companies who own these streaming services could make money if they would push the movies from theatrical release to streaming service within 45 to 60 days of release. People don't want to wait 90, sometimes as long 180 days to leave movie theaters.

Eventually VHS tape became DVD. DVD gave way to Blu Ray. Now we streaming. For some reason, movie theaters didn't take the hunt that streaming was their replacement. They had their time. They were improved upon and now they are (in theory) obsolete.
Honestly, I don't see what fealty Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, etc owes to Regal Cinemas, AMC, Cinemark, et al. The 21st Century is streaming. These days everybody literally has a movie theaters in their living rooms that are: Less crowded Better audio & video No over priced snacks

galinda is trying to say that she doesnt care what people think of her. thus, by saying "i COULD care less", she implies she does actually care to some degree. its grammatically correct either way, but they mean two different things. and then elphaba corrects her because galinda is ditzy and doesnt realise her mistake
saying “I COULD care less” means that you care to a certain degree since it’s possible to care less as for I couldn’t care less means there’s no way you could care any less. “I could care less” could be used to express u don’t care if it’s said in a sarcastic tone which Glinda didn’t use or if she wouldve said “I could care less, but I don’t!” Or smth like that.
