I've never felt so sad as those last few episodes before Bill Owen died, when he was looking so poorly. I will always remember him for the talented comedic actor he was, including being absolutely brilliant at the physical bits. Amazing talent, much missed. LOTSW is my fave comedy of all time.
Thanks for sharing that Tom, amazing there was no sex no violence not even a cuss and yet every Sunday night I never missed it, there was something it had ,a special mix of talent and Bill just made it perfect, sadly missed, never to be repeated....................
The first few Series. they were cruder and low key swore and cussed. Clegg was also NOT a nervous wreck scared of women. He did not fear Norah or Ivy. He changed to becoming nervous and fearful of situations and women a few Series up the road and got progressively worse as the series went on to a degree at about the episode of Catching Digbies donkey where he met Marina, that he became a completely nervous wreck.
Our most favourite family comedy ever, have watched it all of our married life - now 35 years and still watching it from recordings on TV. We tick off the shows in the book that records all the series. True comedy does not need foul language or risky scenes - it requires skill and a knowledge of the language and human reactions - just fab. Thank you Bill and Tom and all the actors in the show, love them all.
Rest in peace Mr Bill Owen, and His Son Tom Owen. Both were great in last of the summer wine. Unfortunately they were both not working together at the same time.
Been a LOSW fan for 33 yrs or more, have a book we tick the ones we have seen in. Must say we laugh at every one of the scenes , even if we have seen them before. I believe it is THE best comedy series ever. Such class, no gore, no foul language,no sex,no violence - pure unadulterated comedy. That takes great actors and a great writer. Thank you for all the laughter we have enjoyed over the years and still do.
I LOVED his character Compo in "Last of the Summer Wine". Brilliant and so FUNNY! Rest in peace, and thanks for the many laughs and good memories of watching this show!
I miss him a great actor and a gas man and I loved him and Nora batty and ivy u will not get actors like them any more and cleggy all gone God bless them xx
Tom, you've done your dad proud already by your fine appearances. You take after him well and don't need to explain to us. He was a fine actor and hard to better, just as important to the show as Peter Sallis. You were the perfect replacement :)
Bill Owen was a fantastic talent,a career that spanned as long as it did well that says it all..thanks for all the years of laughter on summer wine Rest easy.. thanks for uploading this
I can't believe I never made the connection of Bill and Tom being father and son. I'm an American so that might explain it lol First time I saw LOSW my favorite character was Bill. I was thinking, I wonder what he looked like when young... now I know. He kept that great head of hair, wonderful smile and I would KNOW that voice...anywhere. So many are gone but they are NOT forgotten. I have always LOVED British comedy and its been a treat seeing them again on YT along with many we Americans didn't know about. RIP Mr. Owen you are well loved by millions. What a wonderful legacy.:o)

Expresses exactly what we're experiencing right now. A thrilling time to be on Earth. Sending best wishes to you, from San Diego, CA.)
Really? An autobiography? Wow, I'm pouncing on that one ASAP! Love Bill Owen and Tom also!!! Yep, "Fallen Wellies" just tears me to shreds every time... and then Ivy and that pic of Sid...way deep down she did love him! and I feel sure he loved her too...

It might get a little hot here in Oklahoma in the summer, but I'm sure we'll make it happen. This show made an influence on my friends and I, and all the way up to my grandparents. Only a Great show can make three generations want to be as mischievous as Compo.

I notice the BBC has finally closed down access to the show. Up until a few months ago, you could see almost every episode in it's entirety here on TH-cam. What a shame; I certainly can't afford the price tag for the CD set. Bloody leaches…..
@@AR-jx6wr Agreed! What really annoys me very much is that we pay a licence fee to the BBC, so why shouldn't we have free access to the programmes we have technically paid for??

Was Tom walking around Holmfirth when he did this interview?
Could you please upload the full program.
Rebecca Irvine the BBC will force it to be removed. They are nothing but a bunch of money hungry bastards.

A total one off.
RIP Compo. LOTSW will never be bettered.
@ Whiskey River...you can afford it you know. You buy it, watch it, then sell it again on ebay. Probably get to watch it for free that way!
Sad how you call him Bill, and not Dad.....
He will never be as good as his dad . B
