    I had a1985 G.N. I done many things to mine,test pipe,Stage 3 chip bigger turbo , 2 Flowmaster ,but one thing that seperated mine from other was the exhaust,kind-of like Mustang exhaust,2 Chrome pipes going to the rear bumper ! Test Pipe,done away with converter

      @AJsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Yes I had the original hood insulation on there, but after blowing a charge pipe off it damaged the insulation, but besides that, the insulation sags and rubs on my piping due to the Champion race intake being higher, and also rubs on the AC dryer…..it just made a dusty mess all over the place all the time. I may do a black aluminum hood liner eventually, I’m just afraid it will rattle.

Currently, it has a fresh Janis stg 3 full billet 2004R in it and a Circle D billet single disk converter. I’ll be 60-130 Dragy testing it in the next couple of weeks to see if it slowed down over the PTC 9.5” non lock converter. I’ll post the Dragy video and an update on the car. • @AJsSpeedShop
      @AJsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      No sir. I’ve never made it to BG for the Nats. The car really doesn’t fit any classes to be competitive there. I’d have to change the turbo cover to be legal for THS, and even then it’s probably .5 too slow to be a threat.

    • @LR-my2di
      @LR-my2di ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what you say here but please understand that there's MUCH more to this event than just the heads up race and three bracket classes. Some specific race classes were formulated by RRA's (race rules administrators) with the input from those who want to build their cars to certain standards to race in a specific class. There's also a superb car show that would definitely showcase your fine GN. And you'll be around 1000's of folks who can truly appreciate your GN. That's what is also very satisfying. Being around all of those great BUICK people. Thanks & Good luck! Larry Rose

    Beautiful car dude. I have an 87 too except mine has t tops. I had my engine built by Steve V out of Virginia. As a t top car mine is making 450whp. I'm afraid anything more would twist the frame. It's faster than lot of the modern muscle cars on the street. My next project vehicle is a 92 gmc typhoon. Really need an ecu upgrade probably should have had one before any modds where made. I'm doing a complete holley ecu system. I see e85 is becoming the go to for the older turbo vehicles. I'm running a alky kit on my GN. I may just have to e85 conversion on the typhoon. Again great looking GN. You sir have got a new subscriber.

    • @AJsSpeedShop
      @AJsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome man, thanks! Yeah G Bodies will definitely twist up, even with the braces installed. A think a good drag bar is the key to keeping them straight. I love Sy/Tys too. Turbo Tweak makes and ECU GN for the Sy/TYs also. Plug it in and go. And yes, e85 with a flex sensor and a modern ECU is the way to go. It’ll really save your bacon when something goes wrong/fails. The o2 correction alone has saved me at least 4-5 times when I had a fuel pump issue and a fuel slosh issue.
      Keep following along with me, I have a GOOD vid dropping Friday, and a tech vid that should drop early next week. I’ve got a lot of stuff planned for content. 🍻

    • @AJsSpeedShop
      @AJsSpeedShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it sure does. That was one of my main reasons for getting the dash, to be able to display MORE data and have LESS BS in the car. Plus I can log from the dash, tune from the dash and have multiple dash layouts if I get bored with one.
      I’m going to be shooting a video of the dash and doing a full explanation and review of it and putting it on my channel in the next week or so. I’m getting a lot of messages about it.

    • @AJsSpeedShop

      Yeah I’ve checked everything. I’ve chased this thrust bearing problem for 3 years. 4-5 engine builds, 3 transmissions, 4 converters, 2 flex plates. Clearance set everywhere from 1/8th to 1/4”. I’ve measured and adjusted charge pressure, bypassed trans coolers, tried all different fluids etc…. you name it, I’ve tried it. Still have not found the root cause.

    • @AJsSpeedShop

      I kept the drum brakes because they clear my flat faced drag wheels. If switch to disks, I’ll have to get some Strange or TBM drag brakes so they’ll clear my wheels and they are about $1500 a pair. With all the other problems I’ve had, the rear brakes haven’t been a priority.
