Glad it’s doing well. Yea I hate he is going though this mess on a “cruise ready” car.

That motor has some good stuff in it. Just needs a rebuild

I figured we would reuse the rotating assembly but between the dome piston and the short 400 rod combo he just went all new.

Yeah you're right about backed up machine shops. I asked a local place about boring a block and he told me 3 months. It's not helped that another shop has stopped doing blocks all together.

It feels like beach weather here, humidity or something is awful. I try not to run the fans while I video because the background noise is awful but not having the fan is awful too lol. Can’t win. Thanks for watching! I’ll have something new on the channel for this week.

That looks exactly like the El Camino that was for sale here. 383 motor, same wheels. Mid coast S. C.

Oh Iam sure it’s the same one. The screen shot I have of the FB add showed it down in Cheraw or Wallace can’t remember which it was.

This motor looks like something that was cobbled together, over revved then patched up.

It was a pretty common combo before cast striker cranks came about. Not a good combo though, rod length makes for a bad ratio. It was goobered back together after what ever happened to it.

Marketplace has unfortunately become a platform for scammers. By far the minority, but you never know what you're buying all the time. Sad. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.

It was for sure detonating, all of the upper rod bearings were to the copper.
