    Brada! What a legend with the laminate.

      What? You didn't laminate yours either? 🤭

    You have quite a nice variety of titles. Pokémon Puzzle League is one of my favorite titles on the console.

      Thanks heaps!
      I haven't played any Pokemon titles except for Pokemon red on the GB which I emulated on the PC when I was around 12. I enjoyed it but I always found RPGs to have a pretty steep learning curve.
      Thanks for checking it out 😁👍

    Amazing Nintendo 64 collection! The Banjo titles and Yoshi's Story are some of the best games on this console in my personal opinion. Golden Eye is super nostalgic for me I would always play that when I was younger. Great video my friend! 👌🏻

      I know you love 3D adventure platformers. It was a great era for them wasn't it? The birth of them.
      Thanks for watching!

    Some fantastic games in your collection. NBA Hang Time might be the greatest basketball game of all time.

      Thanks mate! It just might be. Don't get me wrong... It's no 'Hoops' on the NES, but it's great! 🤣

    That’s quite the collection buddy! I love these vids of yours where the commentary is a nice combo about the gameplay, the history, and your personal anecdotes (the lamination 👏👏👏😄).
    I loved Turok when it came out but altho I’ve since rebought it I’ve been terrified of playing it again in case it’s dreadful haha. I did play Goldeneye again via the Switch this year; granted the controls weren’t as fluid as my rose tinted glasses remembered yet the level designs were far more intricate and thought out.
    Have a nice weekend.

      Thanks a bunch for the kind words! As the person behind the camera it's very hard to tell if the story and info will be entertaining or boring.
      Yeah, I've found that every 3D game I loved plays different than I recall when I venture back. Whether it's the controls, the looks, or the feel. Something is always a little different. But then again, that's the same with movies for me too. I was pretty shocked how poorly a lot of aspects have aged in Army of Darkness when rewatching recently!
      Yeah I played Goldeneye recently too, but on the XBOX One. I had a lot less patience for the world exploration than I used to. I still enjoyed the combat and world.
      Hope you're doing awesome mate.

    This is a pretty good collection, haven't finished the video yet but, I have to say I am a little jealous. As far as doom 64, A paper cutout in a 3D environment is still in a 3D environment! 🤣🤣 I got a bunch of games from one of my good buddies. He played a lot of the same stuff I did, so I got some dupes but, still very much appreciated.

      My collection aims to live up to the expectations of Sum 41...'All Killer, No Filler' 😅.
      Nice on your freebies.
      Doom 64 is like a shooting range with the cardboard cutout targets 😂.

      I stopped buying old games for the kids. Can't compete with the draw of the new games with their open worlds and minimal punishment for dying. Looks cool though! As cool as a N64 can look I suppose. 😅

    Hey bud, it was nice to see your collection! I personally didn't grow up with anything Nintendo so it was interesting to see your take on the games that you showcased... :) I was just wondering why you didn't play most of the games that you mentioned in your video? I genuinely enjoyed your commentary so having feedback on more of them would have been really cool! Also, do you have plans to cover some of them individually in the future like an AVGN video?

    • @TheGameroomAwakens
      @TheGameroomAwakens  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for taking a look!
      To answer your question, I started collecting after I became a father. I now have 3 kids and spend only around 2-4 hours a week gaming these days generally. My collection started becoming more of a 'wishlist' of games rather than ones I'd be able to play when I purchased them... Commonly referred to a 'hoarding' 🤣.
      I tend to play newer games when I get the chance which is why I stopped buying retro games almost entirely. I've actually started to sell off a bunch too. I've just recently finished Deadly Premonition 2 and am working my way through Far Cry 6.
      No plans for individual features as yet. I think at this stage if I wasn't doing videos that are quite 'off the cuff' I'd struggle to find the time to post. But really these particular collection videos are a bit of a keepsake.
      Thanks heaps for checking it out and the kind comment!

    What is games hotline and video ezy? I like seeing stuff with stickers and history to it. I collection blockbuster stuff, mostly gaming related like n64. Awesome collection you have man!

    • @TheGameroomAwakens
      @TheGameroomAwakens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a bunch!
      I can't remember why I said 'games hotline' sorry, but Video Ezy was a huge video rental franchise in Australia. It was bigger than Blockbuster in Australia.
      Oh that's cool about your collection! I love ex-rental bits and pieces too! Hard to find location specific ex-rental pieces these days.
      😁👍

    • @BlockbusterAssociate
      @BlockbusterAssociate ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheGameroomAwakens I don't think you did mention games hotline. But a few of your boxes had a silver shiny sticker on it with that so I thought I would ask lol. You did mention video ezy for a second, that's awesome that it was an old rental place. Probably whooped Blockbuster's butt down there. lol I'll have to look up some videos about it if I can find any.
      Thanks a bunch. :-D I thought it would be a unique niche to go into for a game collection.

    • @TheGameroomAwakens
      @TheGameroomAwakens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BlockbusterAssociate Oh right, yes now I recall those stickers. That hotline was a number you could call to get help with your games like the Nintendo Hotline. It was so expensive that I don't know of a single person who ever called it. 😅
      The Video Ezy franchise must have offered good incentives for independent rental stores as there were so many that changed over to Video Ezy eventually. Either that or they made it hard to compete with other Video Ezy stores in the vicinity! 🤔
      Your collection sounds cool! I'll have to check it out for sure.

      @@TheGameroomAwakens Thanks for the little history lesson. :-) I saw it was a 1-900 number so I assumed it might be something like that. I'm sure plenty of kids got a yelling at for phone bills at some point.
      Sounds like Video Ezy did what Blockbuster did over here. Took over little chains to build out theirs. Hard to compete with big money.
      Thanks for checking it out. 😀

    Good to see that those after market N64 controllers are consistent with Nintendo's typical low standard of quality!
    I agree also with, every game should be remade/updated into digital only format, and then taken away with little to no notice beforehand! 😂

    • @TheGameroomAwakens
      @TheGameroomAwakens  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nintendo struggled to make a good controller between the end of SNES until the Wii U. That's a long time! 😅
      I feel the physical availability of games has ended with the Switch. Everything else since the XBOX One and PS4 doesn't have the whole games on the disk and the systems don't function without constant updates. Physical is dead and has been for a while. My opinion is that we are the last generation that cares...And that's ok with me. Nothing lasts forever unfortunately.

  • @retroprojections
    @retroprojections ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your opinion of Fighting Force 64 echoes my feelings for N64! 😃
    No, it's not good, or fun.. but it can waste 30 minutes of my time until I decide to do something else! 🤣
    JK buddy. I loved the look at your collection. Wow, custom laminated boxes! 😯 You don't see that kind of attention paid to game preservation everyday. I do really like the layout of that controller, it's too bad that Nintendo never made a dual stick controller. Great vid buddy, thanks for sharing this!

      Ha! I get that. N64 certainly looks like a sloppy mess these days. The jump from 2D to 3D was not kind on the eyes 👀. It's in my collection as I can't easily emulate it. One day I'll be able to swap it all out for a nicely emulated option that can clean up the graphics a little.
      Yeah, 3D navigation is tricky without 2 sticks.
      Thanks for watching mate 😁👍
