  • We're still in the abdomen (hey, there's a lot in here) so let's have a look at the pancreas. Where is it, what is it good for, what is its blood supply, what organs surround it, and what happens if something goes wrong?

This video is absolutely spot on ! For me the super scary thing is the date in which it’s published ! Dec 27th 2017 was the day I was put in a ambulance to the hospital for Necrotizing Pancreatitis.
5 months in the hospital for the 1st Whipple surgery and the next year a 2 months stay for a tissue tube (duodenum) to be sewn into me. Tissue tube was created by my own tissue from a drain tube left in me for a year, which didn’t work. 4 stomach stents over the next year and a half for the remaining 5% pancreas left which kept leaking into my abdomen. I never drank and ate healthy. Fit at 175 lbs and 5’9” tall. Dr’s never found out the actual cause. No one realizes how bad it is to manage life without this organ.
But thank you very much for the video.

This is the best explanation of pancreatic anatomy and its functions so far. I'm dignosed with incomplete pancreas divisum in MRCP after three pancreatitis attacks in two years. Ever since I'm trying to understand about pancreas and have seen and studied a lot of videos and text on the subject but this one is the best so far i have seen. This is just.... wholesome.:)

The complete concept of the pancreas was explained by outlining the functions, the exocrine and endocrine differences and the ailments that surrounded this 6 inches long organ with the most dysfunction that leads to Diabetes types I and II

thank you for making these videos....I was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer, neuro endocrine small cell...if I recall correctly. This was in 2002. I was given 3 months and did chemo and radiation....tumor was not responding to treatment a month after I started chemo. Then later that year they did an endoscopic ultra sound and it was gone. I just watched this and now it all makes more sense.....nearly 20 years later. thank you....wish this was available back then as it would have all made things crystal clear. Keep this going Sam. Cheers!

I love your videos. I am studying Anatomy and Physiology through Great courses (available in the United States) . I am doing this on my own. I have wanted to study anatomy and physiology since I was a freshmen in collage, 44 years ago. I have been to busy taking courses to further my career, to take the courses I want to take. Well the time is now. After watching the videos and reviewing the outline from great courses, I am supplementing it with your videos on related topics. Hearing it again and from a different prospective is most helpful in understanding for me. Thanks for your videos.

hey, first of all, I wanna say that you are amazing and I wanna add that you are saying that ghrelin makes you feel full and satiated (11.35). However, ghrelin stimulates hunger, and excess production of ghrelin cause obesity.

Did you guys know that gallstones in the liver and/or gallbladder may cause not only liver and gallbladder related diseases but also diseases of the pancreas?
You may want to read "The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse" and "The Liver and Gallbladder Miracle Cleanse" both written by Andreas Moritz. You'll thank yourself later.

The way you teach is great because although u r actually teaching the anatomy, (which is usually suppose to be a boring thing to learn) but it seems like u r js talking about an organ.. like a conversation or a story .. or a discussion..😂.. (no ppts, no board or anything)..and hence we actually enjoy listening to what u r teaching cos in our mind it never feels like shit.. it's anatomy time..😂Sir u r js great..!!

    Good day Doctor
As explained in your video, insulin secretion happens later in the stage when the food moves from Stomach to small intestine. I have a question, why are we advised by all doctors to take medicine for diabetes half an hour before taking food. Even Ayurvedic medicines are advised so. Isn't it absurd prescription, especially for oral intake ?
    Kindly advise, 🙏
