Zora Arkus-Duntov (December 25, 1909 - April 21, 1996) was a Belgian -born American engineer whose work on the Chevrolet Corvette earned him the nickname "Father of the Corvette." He is sometimes erroneously referred to as the inventor of the Corvette, whereas that title belongs to Harley Earl.
good video. got an 04 . tight, no rattles. almost perfect. no bodies in the trunk

Bill …. As always … I enjoyed riding with ya… I burst laughing with your “husband” comment … and I bet you are right. Curious how much they are asking.

Great video... and a very nice car, I just bought myself one last week. Haven't driven it much yet, still waiting on my tags. The DMV is super slow because of Covid.

He really ripped on the poor deceased original owner. Had to pry the car out of his cold dead hands, his wife probably hated him. Give the guy a break, he loved his car and kept it immaculate. He didn't drive it very much so his wife probably loved him, LOL.

Oh and Bill you should of said at the end of the video: "Well if you want to have the best one, keep looking because this ones an automatic" :-)

this vehicle generation is 20+ years old and still rocking. the overwhelming majority of C5's can be expected to CONTINUE to last another 20 additional years more beyond where it's already reached so long as it's at least reasonably well maintained and not beaten upon on a regular basis.
In my opinion, all of that adds up to having AS OF NOW EARNED excellent cause for deserving RESPECT for the remainder of its life, and that's not even mentioning bang-for-buck which competes with supercars that cost 3 times as much. Yes by now everyone knows that during manufacturing, performance was prioritized and interior materials got very shorted. but because of all that I just stated, anyone who hasn't gotten over "plastics" by now really persists in pettiness to the degree they do MUCH more because of individual personal need to gripe about SOMETHING/ANYTHING because they need a distraction in their life. otherwise, cough up the $250,000 and enjoy the furniture

Not to be THAT GUY, but, the trunk went away after 1962, with the end of the C1's.

As a former owner of an '04 C5, I can state that they were/are great cars, especially for their era. With that said, they are very awkward looking -- especially in convertible form. Too long, too bulbous, too miuch of a fat rear-end, and a craptastic interior. Its looks are not aging well. Still, it's a great performer which makes the looks less problematic.... Give me a C6, instead.

Couldn't disagree more about the exterior styling.

I like them too. (There aren’t many Corvettes I don’t like.) I saw one on the road and asked my girlfriend what she thought about the looks of it. She said its butt was too big. 🤣
I guess she agrees with Benedict.
I’m thinking about a C4 or C5. I can’t quite afford a C6 yet but I don’t want anything older than 96 unless it’s 69 or earlier and I can’t afford that either so I’m thinking C5 is the ticket and it has to be a roadster.

Are the 98's vette's good or bad? I found one near me that looks good and beautifully modfied with 96k on it. What do you think?
