I was reported and contacted by the FAA, spent an hour on the phone with them and the whole thing is pretty much as you described. I do have my Part 107 and that seemed to go a long way with them so it was mostly just a reminder to follow the rules, etc but that was it. The FSDO said the only time they really go after you is if you don't comply, and that it happens a lot, so they were happy that I took the time to talk with them. I think a little goes a long way with them.
15-page document from 2019 with over 60 cease and desist that were ignored. Recreationally or commercially, you still have to follow the LAANC request process and every other regulation, but to ignore it all and just to keep flying after a court order is just poking the bear and risking it for everyone else.
funny you sounds just like some other guy who thought he knew everything.. bro, why not fine me then after the first 10 first pages? I was doing when everyone wrist was doing was I thought it was all BULLSHIT SCARE TACTICS.. I can tell you with 100% A surety that if I had to pay a five or $10,000 fine at that point, I would’ve quit flying drones then. where do you wanna believe it or not? The number is outrageous for a person who makes 200 bucks a month on TH-cam and is on welfare being paid by the same government who’s finding him. this was a statement to the rest of TH-cam saying break the regulations, and this can happen to you as well. We will destroy your lives as well. again, in every single one of my videos, not one person was harmed not one piece of material of someone else’s was damaged so this is straight up fines for regulations that I didn’t adhere to…… also remember, I flew as a hoist not as a one 07 pilot so I did not agree nor accept any of the rules and regulations stated in the 107guide for pilot. that still means you’d have to follow regulations of some sort and now I understand that many years later. I truly mean no disrespect, but it’s just funny to listen to things and people talk when they only have half the information and again started from people who think they know it all. I don’t know you but trust me. There are other people here that are total frauds. I had some of them on my channel lol
Yo bro I used youtube videos and practice tests for 2 weeks paid the 150 for the test and passed its not hard! I renew this year. GOOD LUCK. let me know if ya want a link to the videos.
Good to hear they're going to work with ya. I think you're one of the best pilots(if not the best) on TH-cam...bar none. Get your 107- get on track and send it!!! if ya ever need help studying, hit me up!!
I found your channel a few months ago by seeing some of your videos and thinking, look at this idiot. However I do enjoy watching your videos even though you were 100% not following the FAA rules most of the time. As a licensed airplane pilot and part 107 business owner myself, I just wanted to say GOOD ON YOU for finally realizing it. With your energy and enthusiasm you can do much more good for the drone community and help many others follow the right path and keep everyone more safe in the process. Hopefully the FAA sees this and doesn't come down to harsh on you. You should reach out to some of the airplane pilots that teach part 107 courses and see if there is any kind of support/partnership. I think it could make a good story by them helping to convert you to the good side which can only help many of the others in your shoes. Good luck!
it's all bullshit. I wouldn't trust a thing that came out of their mouths. I refuse to put remoteID on any drone I own and if it is forced on me I'll be spoofing swarms of drones whenever I fly.
7:45 - just for future reference , the FAA has zero jurisdiction indoors. Therefore this issue of indoor whooping already solved. That would be nice for any outdoor use cases but if you’re flying indoors with a tiny whoop no FAA regulations apply whatsoever. The key term being that indoors, such as in your home or place of business is not “navigable airspace”, therefore, no regulations.
Great news Mikey! You got this buddy, 107 is easy as long as you study. Btw I hope the throw that whole fine out. But I wouldn't be surprised itmf they hit you with the court costs unfortunately. I wish you all the best my friend, can't wait to c you back in the Air! 🤘
I bought a drone after watching your channel .I'm visiting USA Fl soon from the UK , I have no idea if I will be ok to fly there . I hope you are ok bro .
You can totally turn this around into education. Make your mission to educate others now. I’m so glad that they were beyond reasonable. This is a good move for them. Hope to see you when you have the 107.
Much love, Mikey. I'm a casual watcher of the channel, but I've been keeping up with your story. I'll always respect a guy that cops to his mistakes and takes action (unlike another drone youtuber). I understand that drones are therapy/medicine for you.. as it is for me. Get the 107, and do your Thang, dude. I'm canadian and I got my equivalent of 107, just so I can flash it at Karen's and make them go away. It's good piece of mind. I'm sure you'll be back in the air and posting vids in no time. Take care. 👊🏻
"they just want you to comply" yeah... that's where is starts... it is NOT where it ends . . . . . "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." Ben Franklin
Ok so you said what does a part 107 pilot do when flying a tiny whoop inside the house, then said that they will have a software update. Inside the house? Inside any structure the FAA has zero authority even if you are flying for money? The FAA does not control any airspace that is under a dwelling. You can fly in a football stadium as long as it's under roof and of course have permission from the owners of the stadium. But the FAA can't give you permission or take it away. Flying in a private dwelling doesn't require any part 107 or remote Id module. In fact you don't have any rules regulations or guidelines by any government entity. But you still have your own personal integrity when flying over or around people who are in such a private or closed area. I personally don't see them enforcing the 182,000 fine. First off nobody can afford to pay that ridiculous amount. Not even if it was 25,000 you might get a couple of grand in fines and penalties. But any more than that I just don't see it happening. The avata 2 is going to be released April 11th DJI released a leak this morning on their channel and Facebook page. That's probably my next drone. I am glad my channel is not monetized. I haven't ever made a penny from TH-cam. And don't ever plan to. I see a lot of people on TH-cam making videos about different things like running heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators and doing dirt work. And that's what their channel is based on. But they will use a drone to film an areal view of the job site before and after. And even though they are only adding a couple of minutes of video from a drone they will have to get the part 107. These guys have any where from several hundred thousand followers to a few million followers. There channels are making them big money. I bet they don't even know about the part 107. Which is really stupid because there videos are not about drones. They just used the drones as a tool for a short clip. They mostly use GoPro cameras. I have just about completely quit posting videos on TH-cam and social media. I can fly and nobody would ever know that I did. I tested the rid to see what the range of it is, I had a friend drive around town using the drone scanner app. After he got about 3 miles away from my location and the location of the drone he could not see anything on the app. But when he got around 2 miles away from me he then saw the information it was broadcasting. One area I generally fly at doesn't have cellular service or WiFi within 15 miles. Even if someone was using the app they could not get a signal 😂.
This is good news! It's gonna be an adjustment for you to follow the rules but you can find other fun ways to fly. Often felt living in the concrete jungle like you do made it tempting to fly higher and further to get cool video. Gotta jump in the car and start exploring which could attract more viewers anyway.
Im happy to hear that, you deserve a break on that stupid fine. I feel that fine was a sticker shock to the community. They were making a point and point made. You control the industry, we pilots need to bow and say thanks. LOL Im hoping they drop it for you. Good luck on the test. It's not as hard as people think. The best part once you get it, the recurrent test every two years is easier and FREE for the FAA. I have been a 107 for 6 years now.
You can always do other things - never limit yourself on TH-cam. Over the years - you did suggest doing other things in the area - perhaps take those up?
Thanks for setting the record straight and telling your side of the story. Get your Part 107 and good luck with your court date on 4-24-2024. I think things are going turn the best for you.
Private air-space and the use thereof, is regulated by the landowner, not the FAA! “The air, like the sea, is by its nature incapable of private ownership, except in so far as one may actually use it. This principle was announced long ago by Justinian. It is in fact the basis upon which practically all of our so-called water codes are based. We own so much of the space above the ground as we can occupy or make use of, in connection with the enjoyment of our land. This right is not fixed. It varies with our varying needs and is coextensive with them. The owner of land owns as much of the space above him as he uses, but only so long as he uses it". Hinman v. Pacific Air Transport (9th Cir). 1936), 84 F.2d 755, Logic would also dictate, that this also applies to human personal space as well. That space that surrounds each person occupying a public space. Those persons have a right to use as much of the space above the ground as they can occupy or use in connection with that public space, as long as it can be done without violating another person’s life, liberty, or property.
It looks like you have repented. Good on you mate! You know it was really comforting to know that all the FAA really wants is for us to comply as drone pilots. Like you said, we all make mistakes but we have to make an effort to follow the rules. I got my 107 a couple of months ago and I had no idea how many rules and regulations there are in regards to flying drones. But the more you know, the better pilot you will be. So please yeah get your part107. You'll be a better man for it.
You cannot stop PDL, I never expected a stampede of support tho! Not that you are wrong, but people are hard to motivate. 😂👍So they dropped the crazy fines? Get 107 and obey the rules? OK YAY FAA! 😄👏
I think ur great Mikey, keep them videos coming 😍 I loved them. ps, I’ve been a subscriber for ages, all the way from the UK 🇬🇧 luv ya man, good luck for the 24th 🤞 👍
Tests like the 107 can be intimidating, but with some studying you will pass no problem!! Wow, thank you for sharing info you gathered from that conversation. You are brave to sit down and chat with them like that-- I hope they drop the case
Wait a minute, do you mean once I get 107 im not supposed to fly my toy HS190 *indoors* without RID? there is no floor for weight or size or indoor only toys? The FAA *is* trying to push us out no matter what they say.
Got the itch to fly, starting from square one. Been watching your cheerful videos and gear feedback. I learned a lot, you inspired me to start prepping for the 107. Hopeful everything works out for you and see you flying again soon.
Good to see a update and so far you have been treated well. You're a entertaining and talented flyer, regular and FBV. You can still put out a quality video and still be within the rules. Good luck with your 107.
You could study and actually learn the information that youre being tested on. The test that is in place to make sure you understand the rules and regulations of the airspace that are in place to keep you and everybody else safe. Thats an idea.
Best of wishes on your outcome, Mickey. You're a great guy, and I've enjoyed all your videos, hope to see more of your vids. Going for my part 107 as well.
Play silly games, win silly prizes. You had plenty of warnings over the years and chose to keep on doing what you were doing. Now, you have lost your drones cause they are seizing them from you. Time to find a new hobby and get a real job, son.
Side note for perspective: USA founded on the US Constitution (16 pages) King James Bible (500 pages) US Tax Code (70,000 pages) Code of Federal Regulations (including part 107) (200,000 pages) Why do government regulations have to be so massive and complicated?
Good news man! I think FAA wants to look good in the people’s eyes and making you pay the fine will cause the contrary but at the same time they are showing their power and strength. Hope they didn’t intimidate you.
Glad to hear your doing well bro!! You’ll pass that test no problem, if anyone knows about drones it’s you, glad to hear things are working out for ya.
Hey Mikey...I know you've been put through the ringer...just hang in there brother. Keep the positivity flowing out into the universe and I am absolutely positive the blessings will continue. You're one of the good guys, Mikey! Carry On!
So when are they cracking down on the paramotor channels? You can't fly those for business purposes at all... but there are dozens of monetized channels for that. If someone from the FAA could explain to me how that works, I'd appreciate it.
Just found your channel and story - subscribed! I'm looking forward to your 4-24 update and hopefully all this goes away and you get back to making videos I find you videos entertaining and that I'm laughing out load during your flights - that's the intent! and you reinforced my stereo-typing of a South Philly guy so I appreciate that too. Good luck! Keep posting!
FAA just wants you to sign the civil (license) contract! They really don't have any jurisdiction until you do! Not to mention, that the so called fine, clearly violates the 8th Amendment to the US Constitution! Fly safe, fly free!
I still say IF ... they move forward with this fine. I firmly believe that you must challenge it on constitutional grounds, for the good of everyone. The 8th amendment states: "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted." For the common man a 182k fine is completely out of reach and is not only excessive, but is highly cruel and VERY unusual. This, especially in the facts that no one was hurt or property damaged. The punishment here does not fit the crime. I firmly believe your constitutional rights are being violated, not in being called to court, but in the fine itself if it is actually imposed upon you. I'd lawyer up and appeal it up to the supreme court, if you have to.
You are absolutely correct! My understanding, Part 107, violates the 1st Amendment, by regulating and licensing a citizen's inalienable right to “freedom of expression”. It also denies the citizen ownership of the intellectual property derived from “freedom of expression.” Look at Remote ID. On its face, it completely destroys the Bill of Rights. How can the FAA, a government agency, whether in public or not, force a citizen to wave their constitutionally protected rights (1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th Amendments) and submit to, without probable cause and/ or a 4th Amendment warrant, government tracking, surveillance, and control of a citizens private movements while enjoying a business or hobby, all while collecting and recording evidence that can, and will be used against a citizen in any FAA prosecution against them in a court of law? And, in most cases, forcing a citizen to pay for the surveillance equipment that will be used against them? How is this not a blatant violation of the Bill of Rights?
Stace, i do believe that @w.e.s is a boot licking libztard. Wes is a chit pilot who lives in mommies basement. His ex wife laughs at him.misnt that right wessy
Ya, and if you get away with your multiple violations after multiple FAA/DOJ warnings, that will discourage many people to follow the laws/rules because there will be no consequences for them to worry about. The FAA needs to make an example of you and prosecute you for your blatant disregard of the rules and warnings. YOU brought this unto yourself now take responsibility for your actions. Now, I do disagree with the extent of the fines that is being levied on you, I think a $5,000 fine would be more appropriate and no jail time, maybe probation.
To split recreational and business use makes no sense. I can fly my drone, take pictures and video, post them on TH-cam by the thousands if I'm not making any money. But when I decided to make money doing the exact same thing, now I have to have a part 107. Where is the common sense or logic in that? Why did they make it this way? Either no one needs the license or everyone needs it.
Interesting. The US Supreme Court has ruled, a landowner owns as much of the space above the ground as he can occupy or use in connection with the land. Flying a quadcopter or any other model plane, around and above privately own trees, buildings, animals, or any other object owned, controlled, and connected to the property, is clearly an activity that is done in direct connection with the use of the land. Privately owned airspace is as much a property right as anything else attached to property. The government cannot take possession of privately owned airspace and tell a landowner how privately owned airspace can, or cannot be used, without due process of law. The United States Supreme Court ruled, “We have said that the airspace is a public highway. Yet it is obvious that, if the landowner is to have full enjoyment of the land, he must have exclusive control of the immediate reaches of the enveloping atmosphere. . . . . The landowner owns at least as much of the space above the ground as they can occupy or use in connection with the land.” States v. Causby, 328 U.S. 256 (1946) How did a bunch of unelected bureaucrats get the power to control private air space, on private property, in violation of a Supreme Court Ruling, without due process of law?
it wont hurt to have your 107
I was reported and contacted by the FAA, spent an hour on the phone with them and the whole thing is pretty much as you described. A little can go a long way but it usually doesn’t just like with Trent Palmer.
And now they'll come down on all of us who fly legally because you didn't.
Like FORCED line-of-sight distance based on drone model.
I wouldn't go selling my drones just yet.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
😂😂😂Mikey Sharon have to comply 👏🏻

Great information Mikey! I hope you are able to get your 107 license soon. I KNOW you will be able to do that! Love ya man.
Stockholm Syndrome!
Yo bro I used youtube videos and practice tests for 2 weeks paid the 150 for the test and passed its not hard! I renew this year. GOOD LUCK. let me know if ya want a link to the videos.
You brought this on yourself. And you brought a TON of heat onto the FPV community too.
Stop whining
So do u need remote id for recreation if under 250g? Even inside your house?
Good to hear they're going to work with ya. I think you're one of the best pilots(if not the best) on TH-cam...bar none. Get your 107- get on track and send it!!! if ya ever need help studying, hit me up!!
I found your channel a few months ago by seeing some of your videos and thinking, look at this idiot. Ya know, April fools day was yesterday, right?
ya, it feels like there are dudes in suits wearing sunglasses behind the camera...
We love you, Mikey. Thanks for sharing the update.
Good luck Mikey 🤙🏻 I think that they will throw it out of court with possibly some kind of probation ❤
Worst case is you will pay the amount.
Dude,,,
Do you realize your CPU’s red lights on front form a modified swastika?
everything is a "modified swastika" if you look hard enough.
Good shit Mickey!!!
alot of betaflight devs out here im sure one of them could comment on the remote id software rumor.
it's all bullshit. I wouldn't trust a thing that came out of their mouths. I refuse to put remoteID on any drone I own and if it is forced on me I'll be spoofing swarms of drones whenever I fly.
No amount of software is going to create a GPS unit where there is none. Same goes for wifi and bluetooth. It's just more clueless FAA crap.
the stock footage ROFLOL
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
The Part 108 - BVLOS look like it going to be for commercial drone operations. I don't thing drone hobbyist should get excited yet.
7:45 - just for future reference , the FAA has zero jurisdiction indoors. Therefore this issue of indoor whooping already solved.
That would be nice for any outdoor use cases but if you’re flying indoors with a tiny whoop no FAA regulations apply whatsoever.

I bought a drone after watching your channel .I'm visiting USA Fl soon from the UK , I have no idea if I will be ok to fly there . I hope you are ok bro .
Many of the beach cities in the Florida panhandle have city ordinances that don't allow drones.
You are going to rock that test for sure. I wish you all the best in this next stage of your life.
You can totally turn this around into education. Make your mission to educate others now. I’m so glad that they were beyond reasonable. This is a good move for them.
Hope to see you when you have the 107.
Props to coming clean man!
Mikey I see your frustrations.. Im so sorry for this stress.. This is Mobility and I changed my name on youtube.. Please stay positive.
Much love, Mikey. I'm a casual watcher of the channel, but I've been keeping up with your story. I'll always respect a guy that cops to his mistakes and takes action (unlike another drone youtuber). Took for too long for him to "cops to his mistakes" but better late than never. Now he has an 182k fine for no reason.

the fine staying in place, he also lost his drones. th-cam.com/video/mYwm-a2mpcI/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for setting the record straight and telling your side of the story. Get your Part 107 and good luck with your court date on 4-24-2024. I think things are going turn the best for you.
How high in the air you have to be on the faa or it all belong to them . Because we can flight 5 inches of the ground that belong to them lol?

Judging by the lack of videos, court didn’t go well.
Interesting observation. I wander what happened.
@@MicorGroup Heard he was banned from flying by the judge. Dunno.

I hope you are well and it all works out. Cheers
I am pretty sure if the drone weighs less than 250 grams you dont need RID.
You do if you are flying under Part 107 regulations
You cannot stop PDL, I never expected a stampede of support tho! Not that you are wrong, but people are hard to motivate. 😂👍So they dropped the crazy fines? Get 107 and obey the rules? OK YAY FAA! 😄👏
If you have questions as you study for the 107, post 'em. I suspect that lots of people want to help you!
Glad to here everything went good for ya Mikey..keep putting out the good content 👍👍
You still around!?!
R.I.P.
Is this true?
The 107 test is easy I can give you links to free study guides if you like which made it extremely easy for me to pass it with a 93
please do, would like to see the links
No one has been killed by a drone. Why so much regulation on this verse gun control.
Your gonna get that 107 let's go!!!!!!
Good Luck dude!
Update!!!
Wait a minute, do you mean once I get 107 im not supposed to fly my toy HS190 *indoors* without RID? there is no floor for weight or size or indoor only toys?
The FAA *is* trying to push us out no matter what they say.
Use your brain Billy Madison. What do you think they are going to spend their resources enforcing?
Well at least the FAA did not make you take down all your drone flight videos.
Best of luck, Michael. And glad to hear about the 107! Exciting.
All the best of luck Mikey!
Hey Philly Cheese Steak!
How's it going bud?
Got the itch to fly, starting from square one. Been watching your cheerful videos and gear feedback. I learned a lot, you inspired me to start prepping for the 107. Hopeful everything works out for you and see you flying again soon.
Hopefully, some reason and sanity will come from the next hearing. Seems unlikely, but let's hope for the best possible outcome.
Hi, how much will your license costs?
@@americatruecrime $175
We need an update! It's been 4 months
Good to see a update and so far you have been treated well. You're a entertaining and talented flyer, regular and FBV. You can still put out a quality video and still be within the rules. Good luck with your 107.
False information, they peddled. It’s a hobby if you make less than 10k in a year!
Can you post answers for 107
The answers change
You could study and actually learn the information that youre being tested on. The test that is in place to make sure you understand the rules and regulations of the airspace that are in place to keep you and everybody else safe. Thats an idea.
Best of wishes on your outcome, Mickey. You're a great guy, and I've enjoyed all your videos, hope to see more of your vids. Going for my part 107 as well.
Play silly games, win silly prizes. You had plenty of warnings over the years and chose to keep on doing what you were doing. Now, you have lost your drones cause they are seizing them from you. Time to find a new hobby and get a real job, son.
but you liked the videos lol smarta
Good luck with your upcoming court verdict Mikey... and Stu!
Side note for perspective:
USA founded on the US Constitution (16 pages)
King James Bible (500 pages)
US Tax Code (70,000 pages)
Code of Federal Regulations (including part 107) (200,000 pages)
Why do government regulations have to be so massive and complicated?
108 April's fools😂
Good news man! I think FAA wants to look good in the people’s eyes and making you pay the fine will cause the contrary but at the same time they are showing their power and strength. Hope they didn’t intimidate you.
Glad to hear your doing well bro!! You’ll pass that test no problem, if anyone knows about drones it’s you, glad to hear things are working out for ya.
Wishing you the best Mikey!!!
You will be a FAA Part 107 Pilot Mikey! I'm Glad to hear everything worked out , I look forward to your 1st official part 107 video.
If I may suggest & if you had time, you could try to help others learn the part 107 on your videos.
We love you Mikey boy 🤘🤘
Glad to see you looking happier and less stressed buddy ❤😊👍👍
Just found your channel and story - subscribed!
I'm looking forward to your 4-24 update and hopefully all this goes away and you get back to making videos
I find you videos entertaining and that I'm laughing out load during your flights - that's the intent! and you reinforced my stereo-typing of a South Philly guy so I appreciate that too. Good luck! Keep posting!
107 is in the bag bro. You'll pass first time. Become a 107 machine.
It also denies the citizen ownership of the intellectual property derived from “freedom of expression.”
Look at Remote ID.
Glad /o hear it's coming to an end Mikey😊
Good to hear ❤
Don’t be this guy!! Always follow the rules when flying and be a decent person, unlike this bum! Should have been banned years ago!
Can't tell how much of this is sarcasm...
None of it grow up
Stace, i do believe that @w.e.s is a boot licking libztard. Wes is a chit pilot who lives in mommies basement. His ex wife laughs at him.misnt that right wessy
I hope everything works out good for you Mikey.
Mikey where you been? Hope your ok you just left us hanging out to dry
Either no one needs the license or everyone needs it.
yeah i finally clicked subscribe. best wishes for your court date.
Best of luck to you pal, hope you stay humble in the court and they show some mercy.
How did a bunch of unelected bureaucrats get the power to control private air space, on private property, in violation of a Supreme Court Ruling, without due process of law?
108 will be coming for out of line of sight and over 55 lbs
Amazing to se you again !!!
