I've been playing drums since I was 7 and the most important advice I ever recieved was always treat your brain as if it was a sponge and absorb everything even if you don't like Jazz learn Jazz, if you don't like country learn some country songs, and on and on etc. If you're stuck in one genre you're not a versatile drummer. You will always get more opportunities by being versatile...
Glen is probably the most complete drummer in the business. He's got it all: Chops, power, speed, showmanship, improvising ability. And his solo's are always fun to listen to and to look at. He also has a great personality, well balanced and very professional. His playing is always inspiring. My hero.
