There is a place that I can not reach any longer. A place in my past that is now off limits. A time where the feelings and emotions of that time have expired and I am no longer welcome to revisit those nostalgic years. These hazy ghosts are my days long gone of 30+ years ago. The days of my late teens and early twenties. The golden age of my life, and I can no longer taste it's splendor. It is like that romance that has so long ago escaped and the feelings have long ago faded into nothingness. I can imagine and reminisce, yet like a hand that I just can not grasp, as hard as I may try, these times have faded like a setting sun over the horizon. I wish I could be welcomed back to this time, but it is now off limits and locked only in memory. Even if a time machine existed, my younger self would turn to me now with anger, scolding me to return back to where I belong and leave my younger self to live freely as I did. So, now the expiration date has long past for me to continue on trying to rekindle these moments, but that is ok. I have today, and I have been given a small, dreamlike sample of a time that I hold so dear. Thank you for this upload. It's an eerie feeling that I now find hard to embrace, yet can't quite turn my back on it completely because they were the best years of my life.
Sometimes nostalgia can make us relive things, negative and positive. I understand how much it hurts knowing that you can't go back and relive these happy memories. In fact, this is the very purpose of these playlists, to invoke nostalgia in the viewer, and I'm glad you enjoyed them. I understand how you feel though. I'm also stuck in the past thinking everything was better when I was younger. However, I remind myself that life continues and that I shouldn't be sad about these happy memories and let them be part of my life. What's really important is your life right now. Focus on that instead.
