      Well it is known as the Great Australian Adjective.
      .
      “Once upon a time” when I was a kid (in the 50s) bloody was a swear word and you got a belting if your Mum or Dad caught you saying it. Funny thing is, as a kid, I never heard the F-word, it was always bloody this or bloody that and then gradually over time it was replaced by the F-word thanks to the influence of American movies. Sadly it’s the way much of our Aussie vernacular (I remember as a kid) is slowly disappearing because of our exposure to American tv shows and movies (not a criticism just the way things changed over the years) e.g. never heard the word “guy” to refer to a male, it was either “bloke” or “fellow/fella”.
      If you remember Steve Irwin, he was a classic at using the Aussie vernacular that I remember growing up with.

    im australian and i use these slang words everyday. and yes we have a weird culture but we are bloody proud of it. A quick tip for any one who wants to visit australia please dont say shrimp on the barbie because you will get a punch to the face because we hate it. and i have only heard Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi only at cricket matches where everyone is drunk and having a grand ole time.

    We use quite a few of these in the UK too. Also, having had a lot of Aussie friends over the years I’d heard of nearly all of them before. Also love how many revolve around drinking. Very Aussie. 😂😂
