    Fair dinkum doesn't mean 'far out'. It means authentic, honest or legit.

      Depends how you say it. If you say it straight out, it means true or honest. If you say it with some excitement, it means far out. "I got a promotion today". "Fair dinkum?" If you say it more sarcastically, it can have a negative connotation: "The car broke down again". "Fair dinkum?"

    ‘Frothy’ is a beer. ‘Hooroo’ is goodbye, never hello. ‘Come a guster’ should be ‘come a gutsa’, which is to have a relatively minor accident, usually off ya ‘treadlie’ (see also; ‘have a stack’ or ‘have a prang’, which refer to a more severe accident)

    Dog's Eye is rhyming slang. It's a meat pie.
    Reg Grundies is also rhyming slang. Means undies (so she got it right inadvertently).
    Come a gusta means to have made a mistake. If you were looking at a shelia and pranged your ute into a dunny (porto loo) then you've come a gusta.

    "Come a Guster" was misspelt, the "s" and "t" are the wrong way around and the word is "Gutser" not "Guster".
    And "Come a Gutser" means to take a heavy fall, it's the same as the term "Come a Cropper"

    Left out some good ones like;" nipper" or "little nippa" (child, young kid)// "rooted", as in "it's fakkin rooted mite", meaning broken beyond repair// "how ya goin?" ozzy for how are you or how ya doin?// "tucker" (pronounced tukka) meaning food..let's get some tukka// "puffed", as in I'm puffed (exhausted, well out of breath)// a " gasper", "gaspers". a cigarette or pack of cigarettes// "budgie smugglers", what Americans call speedos or tight swim trunks for men..

    Reg Grundies came about in the 70s. After Reg Grundy who produced many successful shows on Australian television. Rhyming slang Grundy vs Undy. Lots of these no one uses anymore.

      Usually spelled "come a gutser" or "gutsa". Basically means to crash, fall off or fail in spectacular and usually painful fashion.

    Reg Grundies is really common in Melbourne or at least is used to be, not sure if it's used in all States. Thanks for picking slang that actually exists, they're not new to me but it was fun listening to you explain them.
